I know this feeling all too well but it's my entire family in this situation. My stepbrother told me I'll never amount to anything in this life and has forbidden me from his home, my oldest brother completely abandoned me after my father died back in October. My older brother, the one who did help me, I feel like I'm an embarrassment to him which is I've only seen niece and nephew a total of five times since they were born, my sister thinks I'm a loser, plan and simple, I'm also forbidden from coming to her home as well. And my brother that next to last blames me for our father passing away and has told me on multiple occasions that my father's last words about me was that I've always been out for myself no matter who it affects and that I was a "Sorry, piece of shit son"

Flaws was the song in the first part of the Oblivion music video. It's there for a reason. Oblivion is about how many people won't find a good place in the world and won't be remembered or cared about or cared for. And it's because they have flaws and humans don't like other humans with flaws and only give good things to those who are as flawless as possible so the gil in Oblivion is playing flaws at the beinning of the music video because she has flaws and those flaaws will lead her into oblivion (not being cared about). Oblivion is also a tired, scared, sleep deprived young adult (a child out of highschool, in perfect condition to be exploited) singing for a shadowy crowd (all the grown-ups in her life who want to see how much money they can get out of her or whether they should leave her to die in an alleyway) and the cars, just as battered and fucked up as the girl, ram and harm each other so that someone can win, which is a metaphor for the world today.
Oblivion and Flaws were both masterful songs and music videos with deeper meanings,
But bad blood is the first part of the music video to flaws. Although that makes sense tbh.
I expected the NCS Oblivion and found this... I ain't complaining, I'm just glad this popped up as well

The way I see it, dan is saying this all to his love, or possibly just an incredibly close friend/family member. The person this is being sung to has depression, and dan's doing his best to connect and relate with them, but it's impossible for him to truly understand or help them. "When you're in my arms, but you've gone somewhere deeper" means that even though this person is there with him physically, mentally they're in another place. They're distracted and unable to just enjoy the closeness between the two of them, because their mind is occupied with the thoughts and questions of a depressed person. Dan wishes they would just let go of their struggles for a bit, but even when they try, they just can't. "Oblivion" represents emptiness and depression (at least that's my interpretation). When dan says "when oblivion is calling out your name", he's referring to his lover's suicidal desires. Oblivion, aka death and nothingness, is calling for them, and pulling them deeper into the abyss of melancholy and depression. "You always take it further than I ever can" dan can't fully understand what his lover's going through, and he's unable to imagine what wanting to die would feel like, after all, survival is a fundamental part of human nature. The lines "Are you going to age with grace...wake and hide your face?" are things that dan is wondering about his lover's potential future, something that might not exist if they give in to oblivion's pull. He could be saying these things out loud to them, saying that if they decide to kill themselves then they'll never know the answers to these questions.
I have no idea what the true meaning is, and I doubt it's that. Idk, it's just my interpretation I guess.

This is just beautiful, I fear oblivion- the whole concept of everything just vanishing and getting lost. Though this song does change my perspective on the whole concept- maybe one day not far from now I'll welcome it with open arms. Xx.
Just a quick, harmless suggestion: I like how you put the definition of oblivion in the beginning, but I think a better definition than the one you chose would be "oblivion: the act or process of dying out; complete annihilation or extinction." That meaning would be more appropriate for the song don't you think? Because it's about someone whose completely self-destructive.

I feel like this song is about someone turning away from a former best friend or boyfriend. They're young and need them, but they can't stay with someone who's made the decisions they have. Masai Goodbar Amy and Rory were sadder though because Amy knew she was going to die and she gave up her life, her mom, her best friend- all for her one true love. Its so beautiful and sad and the doctors reaction was so painful to watch. Yes Rose was sad but Amy loved Rory so much she gave up everything and that's even sadder.
