The company they’re from (High Up Entertainment) isn’t big, like you said. However it was founded by a production duo called Black Eyed Pilseung, who produced songs such as: Twice: Like Ooh-aah, Cheer Up, Likey, TT, Fancy Sistar: Touch My Body Apink: Eung Eung, I’m So Sick, Dumhdurum Chungha: Roller Coaster, Gotta Go So they had a bit of hype going, just based on who was producing for them. And I’d say they delivered, really love all their songs so far.
This is a D&B or Drum & Bass type of beat layered on top of amazing kpop melodies and retro synths. STAYC can do no wrong with Black Eyed Pilseung behind them honestly.

5:25 I personally refer to the genre as "emo girl crush" - bangers that make you feel heartache and angst. This song is reminiscent of a 1st gen classic called Scissor by Yoo Seung Jun. They share similar synth/drum beat and theme 🤗 Also, if you liked So Bad, I recommend Apink's "emo girl crush" trilogy (I'm So Sick, %%, Dumhdurum) by the same producer Black Eyed Pilseung 🥰
