Loved Teen Top and Rocking is a classic just a pity some of there other tracks just weren’t as good and they lost members which didn’t help Changjo was always my favourite
@@Killdeer25 One of the members (L.Joe, skinny rapper) left in like 2016 or so, then CAP left fairly recently. But they still do things. They had a 4-member comeback last year called Hweek that was high-energy fun.
Rocking! I love this! It's an absolute classic. Kpop at it's finest 😁😎 Teen Top's vocalist Niel (light pink hair) also has another one of my all time favourite Kpop songs, Lovekiller.
@@aligensa That's cool. I just like the quiet softness of Niel's vocals. I listen to some of his other stuff as well. I wouldn't have said the song particularly reminded me of MJ, but the choreography (and styling in the video) is reminiscent. I listen to the song though, I don't watch the video much.
@@aligensa Like I said, I actually listen to the song rather than watch it on TH-cam so for me the MJ influence isn't that great. Niel's actual vocals are more reminiscent for me of some Japanese artists I listen to. I do have sympathy for the dislike you have of seeing MJ worship everywhere in second gen Kpop especially. I can probably think of a dozen examples of it myself without trying and like you, I liked his songs when I was a teenager, but never really liked MJ himself very much. I lost interest in him completely after the Bad album. For me, I've just come to accept that I'm going to see that influence in Kpop whether I like it or not. I can tune it out, because my main focus is always the music itself, but I can see where that would be harder when you're more interested in choreography and visuals.
I think it's interesting, to me I think shuffle dancing was like a whole dance craze for a few years, it seemed like that this followed suit. But for real crazy shuffle dancing
@@aligensa It bothers me a bit that in the push towards the west, Kpop is losing some of the things that made it really interesting, but at this point there isn't any popular music anywhere that isn't derivative of something else. People will always find something to criticise if they're determined not to like something and different people will hear different things in the same piece of music. You'll never make everyone happy or get everyone to agree. Some people will like the familiarity that they hear and some people will hate it. That's just the way it is. Kpop as a phenomenon will fade internationally at some point, because all music trends do, but hopefully the door will remain open for individual acts to find a path to success. On a personal note, I enjoy the connections I find in music. I don't think it's a bad thing at all. I love finding a Korean rock band that makes music that sounds like the band America from the 70s, or a Japanese band that plays a song that sounds like a sea shanty crossed with polka music, with an Irish fiddle dance break thrown in just for fun. It's the connections that I'm able to make between new music and the old music that I love that helps me to find new favourites all the time.
@@aligensaLook, I agree about the regression of current Kpop and the companies going for the lowest common denominator of the US market at the moment. Unfortunately, the companies have decided that to make money quickly, that's what they have to do. And yes, it may cost them in the long run, but my hope is that it at least normalises music that is a bit different and makes it easier for other acts who follow. Unfortunately, it will probably have the opposite effect and make people less willing to listen because of a perceived lack of quality, but I'm trying to look on the bright side. My taste and popular music in the western market diverged many years ago, so honestly I'm probably not the best judge of what will work and what won't. (Just as a side note: The song that was the final nail in the coffin for me as far as popular music goes was Janet Jackson's Someone to Call My Lover (2001) which samples Ventura Highway by America, one of my all time favourite songs. It was a total, 'I do not need any more of this crap' moment 😂)
I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE DOING TEEN TOP NOW (or at least even just the one song). Teen Top is cornerstone 2nd gen trend pop and it's SO over-the-line cringe sometimes, but you have to just embrace it and realize it's ok to have fun -- Teen Top will *always* bring the energy and meet you halfway. They have a lot of really catchy, often simultaneously ridiculous hits. Crazy, Supa Luv, No More Perfume (my favorite, although it's straight trashpop), Ah-Ah, Miss Right, To You... and their more recent songs, Run Away and Hweek. Aside: Teen Top was always considered Infinite's rival group because they debuted at about the same time (even though their genres are so conflicting). Niel especially is friends with Infinite members.
well, I love me some Infinite! I do want to do more Teen Top TBH this song was pretty legit, that shuffle was crazy! honestly, now I have a few suggestions I would like to do a follow up with some of this, as someone who is a very open advocate of SNSD I think I can handle just about any cringe moments Teen Top can bring haha
@@Killdeer25 Teen Top goes maybe a little further XD. In fact, I think just a few years ago, Niel or someone was appearing on a show and said "Please don't keep it a secret if you love our songs" or something to that effect. Very much a guilty pleasure group. *correction: oops, can't believe i called Supa Luv "Super Love" in my original comment.
Although it's a song from over 10 years ago, bi/rain's song is great too. The singing and dancing are amazing. Please listen to 「sad tango 」if you like😊
Now THIS IS CLASSIC KPOP!
Oh yeah! The dance was crazy!
Omg....LENGENDS !!!! I miss this era. It was so much fun. ❤
It was! That shuffle is insane!

Oh is that right? That's kinda too bad. I thought I saw that they're still together

You need to react to SuJu's new song Showtime!!!
this is correct!
