I try to take a balanced, long term view of these things. I'm old enough to remember the club being about 5 minutes from going out of business and spending close on 20 years floating around between the second and fourth tiers of the league. We spent big and we spent badly before last season and now the club needs to be steadied financially. I really hope there's some flex in that budget, and that we get a couple of extra players in to bulk up the squad. We all wish Wolves could blow cash the way Chelsea do, but I would rather the club remain viable and competitive in the Premiership while things steady up, than blow money we might not really be able to afford on speculative 'big name' signings that just disappoint. For the next couple of years I'll be happy with mid table respectability and hope for some decent cup runs. We still have a talented squad and with a little more luck with injuries and VAR, we will still have an exciting season ahead of us.
I remember those dark times too with my 'Save the Wolves' badge on. £20m + possible end-of-window outgoings, right? I am guessing this is to preserve a chunk for January, as well as a low effort attempt at preventing other clubs from inflating the price tags of our current targets.
The Kilman transfer really paid for the three signings, 20 out of the Neto 50 to spend isnt awful. It feels like there could be 2-3 incoming, and a Jan war chest seems sensible to me. This is a slow rebuild, could be more money incoming from our fringe players. We have done some good loan to buy deals and next year, as you say, we will be another year free from the financial rubbish
Yes, and I believe Guedes could prove himself to be good enough quality wise, if he gets more playing time. Podence is good enough for the premier, but we don't know how he fits into O'neill's system. I actually think the system should suit him better than Lage's and Lopetegui's systems. And in Chiquinho I trust. It's probably very wise to save some money to January, or else we may end up spending more money than we need, on players we don't need. I'm a bit shocked that the club plans to loan out Bueno if another central defender joins, because he performed well last season.
I don't see the point in replacing neto. A few may disagree with me but with chiquiniho back and looking to stay and Gomes playing amazingly a neto replacement is not nesacarry. If we do sign a winger maybe a player like Lima in and around the first team with high potential but obviously in the winger position. Signing a centre back should be out main priority. I guess we also have to think about future sellings like silva for more available money. Thats my opinion what do you lot think.
20million with a bit of wiggle 25million that in my opinion gives us 2 very good players or 3 good players remember to get a Rio. Ferdinand type of player would probably cost 50-60 million some times a good player out performs our expectation keep the faith WWFC😅
We should have kept hold of Neto if we're not going to spend this money. Waiting for a January transfer could be too late by then. Premier League clubs need to spend money and invest, not just to move up the ranks but to prevent relegation. Jeff Shi did tell us all in his message that 'Wolves might not be the team for you' which explains his attitude and behaviour towards the club.
I understand the principle of Wolves carrying some financial headroom forward to avoid future fire sales but they're probably hoping that GON will perform another minor miracle this season with even fewer 'top players' than last. Unless they plan to spend on ground improvements as Fosun certainly won't.
@@AlwaysWolves Currently, Revenue $28B, Assets $114B, Profits $199.1M. Does that relatively small profit margin imply their margins are being squeezed by excessive debt maintenance costs. Their mission statement is to 'create happier lives for families worlwide', err hello?
I don't want to believe that figure but i fear it's true not a great time to be a Wolves fan at the moment in the transfer market while other teams like Brighton and Forest are splashing the cash! We are just standing still.
I've just watched the GON interview post Arsenal again to make sure I've got my facts right and he thinks we are bringing in more players as he 'eludes' to it on more than one occasion, with his strongest statement saying, 'He and Matt Hobbs have sat down together and we have some targets we're looking at' As for the money he talks about '£100million' to spend. So he after the Arsenal game had an understanding that we had more than £20million to spend for sure and I presume he would of had this conversation with Jeff Shi? its nothing like that at all. you cannot deny what fosun have done for us they even wrote off 100m owed to them. just do wonder whether the 20 mil is a smoke screen to other clubs
Cheers dave , I think they might have a little wriggle room in that , so will see what happens , for me keep what we have now , sell guedes and silva , and bring in a forward and another defender and that will be good 👍 🧡🖤🧡🖤
You are doing a lot of speculating. See what happens by August 30th. You are right about next Summer, though. We sell Podence, Guedes and Silva and everything changes. Lets not panic.
This is why I did not renew my season ticket, after having it my entire life. Fosun are ripping us off and I'm not going to give them £700 of my hard earned money just for them to run off with it.
well David you didnt renew thats your choice but you wont get it back. this is just a headline atm we have brought in 4 players already and 4 back off loan money will be spent. you maybe didnt notice fosun wore off 100 million owed to them. you Cana have the anti fosun view for sure BUT you cant say they aint been good for wolves because before them we spent 19 years outside the top flight
We have prob the toughest start of any club and although the squads definitely stronger the first team is weaker. we still need 2-3 PL quality players. If we persist with a back four RAN will cost us, he’s a talented wing back “emphasis on wing” he leaves the defence short handed, doc hasn’t got the legs to last all season, Toti doesn’t look as assured in a 4 but could play at FB , Hugo Bueno shoulda been playing at FB and push RAN into midfield. We need some quality on the right, a centre back and prob another striker. Not sure we gonna get that with 20m, so hope your right about kidology especially if players like Guedes and podence move on.
Why would this come as any surprise to any wolves fan, Fosun are tight fisted gits we've been on a slow decline each season eventually it will lead to relegation
was you saying that when we spent 30 million on Semedo 345 million on Fabio silva 30 million on guesses I could go on, are you aware they wrote off 100 million owed to them. its a myth yes they want value for money and will sell art a profit. 30 million already spend on players this summer. 20 million seems low but we will see
Unbelievable and unacceptable. I will reserve my full feelings until January but if we don’t do anything in that window or are short on players due to injury like we were last season I’m gonna be a bit upset
@@AlwaysWolves i suppose so that’s why I will reserve my full feelings until January but we really struggled last season towards the end and I do think we could still do with more players again just my opinion though
Not at all surprised. I really hope this isn’t true or it’s a bit sickening with what’s happened with ticket prices. Let’s not forget, we didn’t need to sell killman or Neto. As fans, we need to get behind the team and Gary O’Neil - they need our full support. But our expectations need to be lowered. Let’s wait until the window is closed to judge anything.. but this is ultimately how clubs fall behind and get relegated
Dave... I hate to say this again but you (and the rest of the happy clappers, i.e. Manny etc) are to blame for this!! And in Chiquinho I trust. It's probably very wise to save some money to January, or else we may end up spending more money than we need, on players we don't need. I'm a bit shocked that the club plans to loan out Bueno if another central defender joins, because he performed well last season.
I agree Dave, however as fans I think it's hard to know what is really going on financially
yep
I don't see the point in replacing neto. A few may disagree with me but with chiquiniho back and looking to stay and Gomes playing amazingly a neto replacement is not nesacarry. If we do sign a winger maybe a player like Lima in and around the first team with high potential but obviously in the winger position. Signing a centre back should be out main priority. I guess we also have to think about future sellings like silva for more available money. Thats my opinion what do you lot think.
you also forget Rodrigo Gomes
@@AlwaysWolves I meant Rodrigo Gomes not João Gomes lol. We have so many gomes' it gets confusing 😂
20million with a bit of wiggle 25million that in my opinion gives us 2 very good players or 3 good players remember to get a Rio. Ferdinand type of player would probably cost 50-60 million some times a good player out performs our expectation keep the faith WWFC😅
You don't get 2 very good players for 25 mill! Neto cost 54mill. The math don't add up.
@@jackmullin8962 we got Kilman tor £40000 and don't mention Bully , I expect you don't watch lower league players only La Liga 😂😂😂
Time will tell
We should have kept hold of Neto if we're not going to spend this money. Waiting for a January transfer could be too late by then. Premier League clubs need to spend money and invest, not just to move up the ranks but to prevent relegation. Jeff Shi did tell us all in his message that 'Wolves might not be the team for you' which explains his attitude and behaviour towards the club.
better now than end of window lets see what happens
Have we got an obligation, to buy Larsen..??
Yes if he plays some number of games but its not known what that number isor at least i dont know it
option I belive
I understand the principle of Wolves carrying some financial headroom forward to avoid future fire sales but they're probably hoping that GON will perform another minor miracle this season with even fewer 'top players' than last. Unless they plan to spend on ground improvements as Fosun certainly won't.
they spending 800 million on the group as we speak
@@AlwaysWolves Currently, Revenue $28B, Assets $114B, Profits $199.1M. Does that relatively small profit margin imply their margins are being squeezed by excessive debt maintenance costs. Their mission statement is to 'create happier lives for families worlwide', err hello?
I don't want to believe that figure but i fear it's true not a great time to be a Wolves fan at the moment in the transfer market while other teams like Brighton and Forest are splashing the cash! We are just standing still.
time will tell
I've just watched the GON interview post Arsenal again to make sure I've got my facts right and he thinks we are bringing in more players as he 'eludes' to it on more than one occasion, with his strongest statement saying, 'He and Matt Hobbs have sat down together and we have some targets we're looking at' As for the money he talks about '£100million' to spend. So he after the Arsenal game had an understanding that we had more than £20million to spend for sure and I presume he would of had this conversation with Jeff Shi? I hope to God your right with it being somekind of kidology but it does make me very unsettled as we have been let down before. Well we will know the truth in 12 days.
"ALWAYS WOLVES"
yes we will
Did we get any money from sky this season
obviously mainly goes on wages
Hi dave nothing surprises me anymore, what do you think wolves looking for partners , just reminds me of the chicken farmers at Blackburn a few years ago, fleecing the club of its assets putting nothing in , then going to sell for shit loads
its nothing like that at all. you cannot deny what fosun have done for us they even wrote off 100m owed to them. just do wonder whether the 20 mil is a smoke screen to other clubs
@AlwaysWolves yes dave I agree with what you said, but don't you think there trying to claw back the money 🤔
Cheers dave , I think they might have a little wriggle room in that , so will see what happens , for me keep what we have now , sell guedes and silva , and bring in a forward and another defender and that will be good 👍 🧡🖤🧡🖤
I agree
Gonna be a lot of loans this window from what it seems like
loans are ok we have used them vey well in past
You are doing a lot of speculating. See what happens by August 30th.
You are right about next Summer, though. We sell Podence, Guedes and Silva and everything changes.
Lets not panic.
yes lets
We definitely need a striker that’s keen to play for wolves 🐺 we only got two weeks left to sign a players
we Brough in stand Larsen
This is why I did not renew my season ticket, after having it my entire life. Fosun are ripping us off and I'm not going to give them £700 of my hard earned money just for them to run off with it.
well David you didnt renew thats your choice but you wont get it back. this is just a headline atm we have brought in 4 players already and 4 back off loan money will be spent. you maybe didnt notice fosun wore off 100 million owed to them. you Cana have the anti fosun view for sure BUT you cant say they aint been good for wolves because before them we spent 19 years outside the top flight
Very suprised dave.who is our chief accountant,🤔
lol
We have prob the toughest start of any club and although the squads definitely stronger the first team is weaker.
we still need 2-3 PL quality players.
If we persist with a back four RAN will cost us, he’s a talented wing back “emphasis on wing” he leaves the defence short handed, doc hasn’t got the legs to last all season, Toti doesn’t look as assured in a 4 but could play at FB , Hugo Bueno shoulda been playing at FB and push RAN into midfield.
We need some quality on the right, a centre back and prob another striker.
Not sure we gonna get that with 20m, so hope your right about kidology especially if players like Guedes and podence move on.
lets see
Why would this come as any surprise to any wolves fan, Fosun are tight fisted gits we've been on a slow decline each season eventually it will lead to relegation
was you saying that when we spent 30 million on Semedo 345 million on Fabio silva 30 million on guesses I could go on, are you aware they wrote off 100 million owed to them. its a myth yes they want value for money and will sell art a profit. 30 million already spend on players this summer. 20 million seems low but we will see
Unbelievable and unacceptable. I will reserve my full feelings until January but if we don’t do anything in that window or are short on players due to injury like we were last season I’m gonna be a bit upset
hows it unacceptable - we have actually spent 30 million so far I thought it be 30 to 40 million lets see
@@AlwaysWolves i suppose so that’s why I will reserve my full feelings until January but we really struggled last season towards the end and I do think we could still do with more players again just my opinion though
I don’t think “you think it’s clever spin Dave” I think you hope it’s clever spin
lets see
Not at all surprised. I really hope this isn’t true or it’s a bit sickening with what’s happened with ticket prices. Let’s not forget, we didn’t need to sell killman or Neto.
As fans, we need to get behind the team and Gary O’Neil - they need our full support. But our expectations need to be lowered.
Let’s wait until the window is closed to judge anything.. but this is ultimately how clubs fall behind and get relegated
we have to wait and see yeah
@@AlwaysWolves Couldn’t agree more! We’ll back the team regardless! AW 🐺
Owners that don’t want the club to progress, they have to go enough is enough now
who is saying we are not progressing
Be interesting to see the balance sheet profit/loss of Jorge Mendes and Gestifute. All the players he`s brought in and we have sold on!!
hes made plenty
Wait and see everyone
totally
Yes its best not to jump in and have a rant, lets see what does actually happen in rest of window, then we all can judge after that
exactly
Wheres the tv money ??
indeed
Left felt gutted. 😮 oh dear.
Is there money 💰 available for the academy 🤔
yes
Do you think wolves will sign manor Solomon from spurs maybe on loan?
I dont know
They can't even spend a few bob on tidying the ground up with a lick of paint🤨
they are sending 800 thousand doing that right now
Dave... I hate to say this again but you (and the rest of the happy clappers, i.e. Manny etc) are to blame for this!! If we all would have protested against Jeff and the club when we had the chance we would have got them out and had £90m to spend right now. Instead u lot decided it was great they did a u-turn on the kids ticket prices and would have noshed Jeff off to say thanks if u'd been given the chance and that's emboldened FOSUN. Smh!
hilarious
@@AlwaysWolves 😂
Be patient. Wait and see after the deadline is up. Then we can judge. This may be a tactic to warn clubs they ain't gonna fleece us.
If that's the case it's about time wolves used that tactic always wolves
I hope to God your correct in your assumption. Maybe I can sleep better now with that thought as the real motive.
100%
I'm not sure there will be much more to spend. The cynical side of me believes that's why Gary O'Neill was brought in, they know he won't kick up a fuss and he'll just get on with the job.
lets see
Need at least two players
What have fans like you and me been saying a number of years wideboys bloodsuckers I will be slag off for my views don't give a toss wolves and fans come first not Jeff shi and the owners
agreed
Just have to trust the process Luton brought all their players for like 7 million if I remember correct and they got to the prem
That did them the world of good. Where are they now?😂
Yes your right but dont forget they went back
down 😂
yep
More lies being exposed by Jeff I feel. We were told last season the budget was none existent due to psr, ok we went with it, now after raising close to 100 million we are being told there’s hardly any money, I don’t think it’s a tactic Dave as I don’t think Jeff shi is that clever, the question has to be asked where is the money going? It’s certainly not on the club.
not sure its lies. lets see what happens
The players must get their salary increases aswell so understand ,but what I don't get is why can't fosun sign Aron ramsdale there's money for ramsdale wolves have enough forwards o Neil must use his brain he is circled with quality players it's how he lineup the starting team podence must stay at wolves and geudes please
we can
where is the premier league and broadcasting money aswell but wolves have only have 20 million to spend something doesn't add up arsenal fan hope wolves stay up
wages
😂thats ok im sure we will get a new stadium soon😂
you want a new stadium
Tammy Abraham is available for 21 mill
and why would we buy him
@@AlwaysWolves We need a big signing. Him and Cunha up front 🎆
Don’t worry folks. Kit is £2 cheaper🤦🏻♂️😡
pro is £45 cheaper
Fosun's other businesses are falling apart
but they aint - they made record profits
20mil? That it Lol. Probably good enough for just 1 player Lol. one decent ish defender.
some of best buys have been well under 10 million
Maidenhead get some of Kilman money.
yep 10%
You lot make me laugh. (Fosun need to spend more money) When they tried to put the season ticket prices up to get more money you all jumped up and down saying it was out of order
What you mean tried? They did increase.
what is your point makes no sense
To be expected when the club is owned by an investment company they are in it to make money for themselves and the shareholders simple as…..
maybe you didnt notice the 100 million fosun wrote off we owed them did you miss that
@@AlwaysWolves and? It was actually 126 million back in 2021 but it doesn’t distract from the fact wolves are a selling club it’s not hard to see the business model buy in players cheap sell for a huge profit (except silva we got scammed with that one) my concern is where’s the ambition we have a paper thin squad as it is a couple of injuries and it’s another fight to stay in the league which seems to be the norm now forget trying to get into Europe or finishing in the top half of the table just staying in the premiership is going to be hard enough if we don’t strengthen the squad and back O’Neil properly.
They will rinse this squad to the point that there won’t be any quality on the bench and will be full of u21 players
ok thats why we brought in 4 players already
Relegation,and you know it
your so sad
Another one from Shi
lol
Is gary oneil at a club where he can be ambitious ? Lapertagi went,,if gary gets cheesed off its not going to be a good recipe,,,,Chinese owners,,,,these are business men and dont care about the club,,,smell the coffee!😊😊😊nvertheless coyw😊😊😊
I didn't give flying fk about the snake JLO. caring about he club do you remember where we were before they came have you forgotten that. we have brought in 30 million already this year players will come in we judge the window when I closes.
O’Shea is not that Guy . Sorry Lads. Definitely need to get rid of Fabio poor lad had no contribution to the Club wish him the best.
ok
It stinks of Jeff shi 😮this man couldn't lay in bed straight

@@AlwaysWolves ive been called worse dave
Were regressing under fosun... if we have a gd season O'Neil could get offers. How come Brighton can do this sell sustainability game much better than us
Prob cause they don't sign crap players and know when too sell them on reinvest that money using their professional scouting network. Which has seen them sign players really cheaply and sold at crazy prices, caicedo for instance. They know when to sell and have scouting network set up ready to replace due to extensive player research. Very clever model.. whilst wolves sign crap like silva. Sasa, podence, guedes, which has killed the club.
@jackmullin8962 it's a mess, we've missed out on some bargains... we all knew neto was going at some point, Where's the shortlist for his replacement because it feels like they're just searching now, I think wissa was just a punt we was never going to get him
regressing lol we were bottom of the championship before them
@AlwaysWolves I'm talking about recent years in the prem obviously mate... you're always content with just competing you're not bothered about us actually progressing you seem happy with mediocrity
Fosun good job not really, ofc theirs ffp/psr but wolves made allready 100mil profit summer 2023 sellings you would expect theirs sometimes also some spendings but greedy and change view and policy after Pandemic football investments has make fosun more liability nowdays Wolves need new owners
