Hey thanks for the video. This generation of civics are awesome for easy access to the horn (8th and 10th gens require bumper removal). Im gonna change my horn in my 2014 civic with a factory 2003 acura TL type s horn, I determined it uses the same connector so thank god i got the right one at the junkyard yesterday
well it worked, no mods needed. The plastic shroud is in the way cause i needed that back on. Ill probably take it off later but take a listen: th-cam.com/video/JfiDlj2mbsw/w-d-xo.html
If your wanting to do this on a 2015 gen 9 COUPE it’s nothing like the sedan. You can just barely remove a soft plastic shield and the wedge up the grille top shield to do the install. The horn mounting straps need to be bent and one can be bolted to the original wire securing clip hole. There is a grounding cap screw 10mm and the horn mount is a 12mm. I used a 1/4x20 3/4” long with a star wash and nylon looking nut to hold the left one on. Hopefully my included photos will show what worked for me.
I actually ended up using a universal horn kit. It came with all the wiring and the relay. I still am trying to figure out where to mount them. At this point this video is irrelevant. lol www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XM107FC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Have you had any issues with the fuse blowing for the horn? I usually install a relay and only use the OEM trigger wire to energize the relay. Then wire directly to the battery (fused) I've had an issue in the past when I had to hold my horn on longer than a few seconds would pop the fuse. TIA and thanks for the video, I appreciate it.
I did the same thing for my 8th gen.. hate the meep horn. However, I just ran the ground through the bracket. My horns that I purchased came with a wire connected to an o-ring.
i wanna change my horn but it's behind the bumper which means i have to remove the bumper, the grill, the headlights, and losen the fenders... it's a really dumb design on kia's part
Just saw this video! Totally agree the stock civic horns are horrid!

Sorry can’t figure out how to load photos
That "beep" sounds more like "cheap.". It's a cheap-sounding horn.
That plastic is there to keep all that hits your grill from going into your engine bay.
You can always trim out the area above the horns and mount the plastic piece
wtf, didn't even honk the horns once. Also, the plastic shroud/ cowl helps direct air flow over the radiator. I wouldn't leave it off.
Drew Gossett it's been off since I posted this video, no issues with airflow.
It’s there to force all he air thru theAC condenser and radiator. I too would never run without it.
Is a 2015 a gen 9?
Thanks for posting this. I can't stand the meep horn on my 13 Civic. What gauge wiring did you use for the splicing?

@@PeatyR I don't know, I got rid of that car shortly after.

I mean you didn’t even blast these once in the video? Could a been a great plug for the horns..
I think the best thing to do is just extend the bracket make it longer i’ve done that on my car 2017 Honda Civic
Get yourself a tugboat horn and hook it up,or maybe a foghorn.have fun
can you send me a link to buy it, thanks
Do u need dual horns? Cuz I thought the stock Civic only came with one???
It does but they sound mousy
No relay needed? Could you post link to the new horns?
We all came here to install the dukes of hazard horn didn’t we?
Thank you👍🏽
Did you ever blow a fuse since your tapping into a single power wire for both horns?
I have not had that problem, however I just added a high tone to my factory low tone about a week ago.
The two horns won't draw too much juice from only one wire? Thanks a lot I'm doing the job on my 8th gen.
Olivier Caron I ended up adding a harness to it. Wasn't enough juice to power both.
Orlando Drivers can you share more details please? O.c.caron@gmail.com
You wanna use a 5 pin relay. I uploaded a video of my swap on my 2015 civic
I've seen reports that the 9th gen Civics have 2 stock horns (1 down by the driver side fog light) Did yours not have a second one?
No, mine only had one.
We’re did you get the space connectors at

Thank you good sir!
Why don’t you mount the other horn on the right side of the car then you can put the grill back on
Can you install only one
Yeah, 2 is not required.
😂😂😂😂
