It depends. Pro6 is no longer supported and CCLI’s API is changing so it won’t work with versions older than 7.12 for song select. There is a learning curve, but I help people all the time.
Hi Paul, I appreciate all of your videos. They are very educational and helpful to so many. Our church just upgraded our computer this week, which is now a Mac Mini. We are currently running ProPresenter 6 on an iMac, and decided to begin the upgrade process to ProPresenter 7 with the new Mac Mini. I have run into an issue with migrating my library with the "sync" feature in ProPresenter's preferences tab. I did all of the steps per their directions. However, I am getting a pop up message that says "This feature synchronizes Propresenter files to a common repository that can be accessed fron multiple machines. Therre are unknown files or directories in the selected server location. You must choose an empty folder or an existing ProPresenter remote repository." It appears that ProPresenter 7 has a different file structure than 6. Is their a better way to bring in all of our existing songs other than manually? Thanks for your help!
Ok, thanks for all the information. However, the switch from 6 to 7 is turning out to be a nightmare. As you know, everything has been rearranged, new features added, etc. Where is the "Get Started" version that explains some of the MAIN features of 7 so we can start using it. We're proficient on 6 but are basically LOST on 7. Thanks!
Hi, just wondering if you were able to overcome this nightmare yet? Our church is also discussing about whether or not to upgrade to 7. Any insight? Thanks!
@@riversideriversideeducatio3560 no. We are now looking to switch to another platform. In our search for help we’ve learned this version has an issue with crashing often. We wonder if it was released before it was ready. This has been a very frustrating experience and the lack of support hasn’t helped.
I get nervous when I hear the words 'Worship software'. Why is that? A presentation is a presentation. Am I to believe that Bill Gates has not been keeping pace with powerpoint?
Well, first, it’s kind of a joke. Second, Bill Gates hasn’t worked at Microsoft for a while. So, he hasn’t really affected PowerPoint in probably a decade. That said, there are some HUGE omissions in PowerPoint. They’ve doubled down on things that make presentation software different from character generator software, for example. What I mean by this is that I can’t imagine any television station, even the smallest, local one, using PowerPoint. By contrast, I have talked to many secular organizations that use propresenter, but just turn off the “house of worship integrations“. In fact, I recently talked to a television station that replaced their multiple five figure character generator with pro presenter. Why? Simple, it contains features, that PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google slides don’t. So, what I’m saying, is that while propresenter is technically “worship software“, it’s ACTUALLY a more powerful presentation software than any of the usual suspects.
@PaulClifford Our church has asked for volunteers to help out with presentations. We currently use Propresenter 7. I'm familiar with PowerPoint but this Propresenter looks more like stepping into the cockpit of a Concorde rather than a Cessna. Both aircraft get you to the same destination. But with an elderly church group of 20 members we don't have too many top flight pilots.
It might not have been clear, so I want to say that the BMD hardware ISN'T included with Pro7, but the $1000 alpha key module (software portion) is.
Thank you for your sharing! In your opinion, is it really necessary to upgrade from 6 to 7? Also, is it a big learning curve?

You can copy over the propresenter 6 folder manually and then import it into pro7 (there’s a dialog for that).
