1) Economy is in tatters, Inflation is all time high, petrol prices making new records everyday, unemployment all time high...
2) geopolitical relations with neighboring countries not that great either... China got upper hand everywhere...
3) Not doing great in World ranking on various platforms either... there has been considerable drops in ranks for India in almost all major indexes be it happiness index , developement index , poverty , inequality , competitive , freedom of press and so on .... the list just goes on...
These are some hard facts that we should be celebrating too, right. 😅 We gotta acknowledge those achievements too, you know... 😉😄

I am nearly 70, have lived overseas and traveled a lot and I can say Karan is one of the best interviewers. Intelligent, knows his subject well, polite, fair but tough as a nail. India should be proud of him.
Sir, stop. He came at him like a vicious hyena and was not at all sensitive to the kind of dynamics that exist between heads-of-state and how they cannot dispel every single opinion they have without negative/unintended consequences
He couldve gotten out so much more insightful information from Obama. Instead, he was obsessed with his questionnaire, was an extremely bad listener (and therefore did not up pick on Obama's cues), ended up making him uneasy and cop-out at every other instance. He did a disservice to the summit organisers, Obama's staff as well as the audience
He couldn't have been any worse of an interviewer. And just because you ask tough and pointed questions doesn't make you a good interviewer, it might make you a good journalist, but not a good interviewer

Karan Thapar got so disappointed when he could not get out a negative comment from Obama's mouth against Modi. He thought the was smarter than Obama.

Secondly, language is not that much barrier. For interviewing chief minister you have to ask permission and access given only if Chief Minister is comfortable. So, don't you think Sh. N. Modi knew about mode of language of upcoming interview?

If Mr Thapar had crosses his line with Mr Obama, then he would've been under the secret Service n NSA's radar for the rest of his life. b) Folks from the Obama Foundation merely tried to preempt the range of questions in order for the dicussion to be more meaninful and engaging, which seems to me like standard basic protocol for things like town halls and summits.
And apparently Karan didn't understand this because of his journalistic background, I think it's also the reason why this discussion turned out to be so cringeworthy at times. This is why you don't hire a seasoned journalist to conduct town halls but rather writers, activists, young entrepreneurs, student leaders etc

That's the protocol for all presidential interviews unless it's known to be mindlessly adversarial going into it, like for example, Obama's interview with Bill O'Reilly
The protocol is there so that they can properly formulate and articulate their positions, this is not analogous to PM Modi asking for a secret template questionnaire lmao

Obama is a racist, divided the country and lied to the American public to pass his policies. He was a very weak president when it came to world affairs and his lack of leadership is responsible for most of the chaos in North Africa and the Middle East today. Trump has all but defeated the Islamic State in less than a year but it only expanded under Obama. Trump finally has the economy growing at a respectable pace by canceling much of the regulation Obama used to strangle business. I care more about leadership and getting results than I do about being all nice to people. The world is a tough place and nice guys finish last. Your "applause and decency" won't get you a cold lunch but Trump's leadership will change the course of the world.
