It's been years since I used to crochet, I'm always been a beginner. but I have decided to go back to crochet now that I have discovered this mosaic technique. Your tutorial is very helpful!
I learned how to do the mosaic stitch by using the back loop and not both. Years ago, I bought a pattern doing it the way you do it, but she moved so fast and the stitches were so small, I couldn't decipher what she was doing. You have made this so incredibly simple that I think I may be able to go back through and do that pattern. You're an Excellent instructor. Thanks so much
sorry for getting into the party this late but i'm interested on making this pattern where i can get it or if u have a video of it i looked on u video colections but i couldnt find it ...ty in advance and love u wonderful designs!
Hi Ashley thank you so much forgetting back to me I’ve watched your program and it is very helpful I just do not find my stitches look as neat as yours I love the pattern that you are doing you are very talented by the looks of peoples comments I can’t thank you enough for show me how to do it and getting back to me as well I live on a very small island off the coast of France thank you once again for your friendship I think you will be hearing from me again just to tell you if I have cracked it thank you so much for your help God bless you and your family
I love the work and I’m trying to learn how to do this I would like you to have the pattern in front of you so I know which is a double double crochet And a single one and how can you tell without a pattern I’m going away on the boat and I want to take something like this with me without the pattern first I’ve got to learn what is a single crochet and a double crochet are with a go thank you for your help I do appreciate it
I was reading a pattern when I did this. The MaxiTiles pattern is free: ashleeslint.com/2020/07/23/maxi-tiles/ It is written out like this: 11 - JS, sc1, dc1, sc1, (sc16) x5, dc1, sc1, ES So, if it says sc you know that it is a single crochet (in the back loop) - the key for the pattern explains that all the sc in an overlay mosaic pattern are in the back loop. Where it says dc you know (from reading the key) that it means a dropped dc because this is overlay mosaic. This video specifically is showing how to do the stitches. Not how to read a pattern. Please see my other videos for more information.
Love it! I'm a beginner in mosiac and was wondering if I did this in a throw size how many skeins of each color would I need if I use caron one pound ? Thank you.
Hi Georgia! Sorry for the delay in replying, I missed your comment somehow. To answer your question, people think of "throw size" and mean different things. So I would suggest looking at my other patterns and see if you can find one that is the size you were thinking of and go off that. For example, my Hobby Stencil blanket should be 40" square when finished and the yardage for that one is: Worsted Weight Yarn (2080-2480 yards) Main Color (MC) - 1040 yards plus 400 yards for optional envelope border Coordinating Color (CC) - 1040 yards
Your mosaic crocheting designs are absolutely unique. Thank you for your tutorial!

Thank you for that compliment! I believe there are 2 common ways of doing a mosaic stitch now. One uses back loops and the other uses chain stitches.
Beautiful!! Will you be doing a tutorial on this design?
I don't have plans to do a step-by-step walk thru using the design shown here. I do hope to create more tutorial videos soon though.
Great video!! This blanket is beautiful! Also we spell our names the same way 😮 it’s very rare to see our name spelled that way.
Ooh! I have met a few Ashlees over the years. But "ey" is definitely more common!

I don't have a full walk-thru using this pattern, but Maxi Tiles is free on my website! ashleeslint.com/2020/07/23/maxi-tiles/

It took me a few tries and watching videos from multiple designers but I am sure that you can figure it out! Good luck!
