It will never be Toronto's time in the near or far distant future - They pretty much had to do something big this year and lost - But they lost to a team I love and respect more in the Habs. The Refs just couldn't dig deep enough to overcome Montreal however, and Montreal will move on to face the Refs again, in the Stanley Cup Finals. Best of luck, Montreal. You're going to need it. at the beginning of these playoffs everyone doubted Carey Price being the man for the habs. Now I don’t think you could imagine anyone else in his spot. 18th place narrative is way overblown. They weren't playing against 30 other teams, they were playing against 6 other teams. They finished in a battle for 3rd out of 7 to make the playoffs, even with the compressed schedule and concurrent Gallagher, Weber, Price, Drouin long term absences (with other, shorter injuries sprinkled in, like every other team). Oh, and a team that didn't have Cole Caufield till he dragged them into the playoffs with the 2 late season OT winners. People who bemoan Bergevin's GM of the Year nomination should shake their head and reassess. Without the Toffolis, Allens, Andersons, Edmundsons etc that he brought in, this could never have been a playoff team when considering the above obstacles. When healthy(-ish) and rested, this team has shown to be a.... juggernaut? :D

But with you, you add interesting points of discussion aswell as back and fourth discussion with your viewers that make it very entertaining. Yes as a Leaf fan I'm incredibly envious of the MTL Canadians and truly wish it was my favorite/annoying team instead.
With that said, I'm totally and unequivocally Rooting for the Canadians to go ALL THE WAY and bring that CUP back up North. What a determined team you guys have in MTL....👍👍 and know that for the most part, you have an entire Country Cheering you on.!!

at the beginning of these playoffs everyone doubted Carey Price being the man for the habs. Now I don’t think you could imagine anyone else in his spot. I’ve always looked at Carey as one of, if not the best goalie in NHL history. Great game, great career, amazing class. Good luck to Montreal!! Chercher la coupe!!!!
18th place narrative is way overblown. They weren't playing against 30 other teams, they were playing against 6 other teams. They finished in a battle for 3rd out of 7 to make the playoffs, even with the compressed schedule and concurrent Gallagher, Weber, Price, Drouin long term absences (with other, shorter injuries sprinkled in, like every other team). Oh, and a team that didn't have Cole Caufield till he dragged them into the playoffs with the 2 late season OT winners.
People who bemoan Bergevin's GM of the Year nomination should shake their head and reassess. Without the Toffolis, Allens, Andersons, Edmundsons etc that he brought in, this could never have been a playoff team when considering the above obstacles.
When healthy(-ish) and rested, this team has shown to be a.... juggernaut? :D

Let's face it, if the Leafs HAD beaten the Habs, Tweedledum and Tweedledee would have just folded their tents for Series 2, having felt their 'job was done' in winning one series. Cancun flight tix would have been sought asap. No way Leafs would have gotten to the finals if they had beaten Montreal.
We can say stuff like that all way we want but this is why you play the games we will never know how far they would have gone this year has been an insane one
Hi Steve! I'm also a French Canadian living in montreal and I really enjoy your commentary. Especially during intermissions. I never wanted to stay and hear what the experts had to say aswell as stay for commercials. But with you, you add interesting points of discussion aswell as back and fourth discussion with your viewers that make it very entertaining. Most of all is your comedic side of you that draws people in like the bit where you had a bet if you were wearing pants 😂 let alone the weird people asking for feet pics 😂😂😂 t.v station broadcast is to cookie cutter boring chit chat over and over again. I like what you are doing but I would like it more if you were able to do it for the regular season aswell? Have you thought about that or had any discussions with your producers if that was ever a possibility moving forward in the future? Thank you.
