Your piece grants me so much calmness. Whenever I am stressed, can't sleep or I am sad I put up this video and it always calms me down in seconds. As a tuba player myself I can only wish to ever sound as good as this ❤
I'm not a musician...yet...but am exploring instruments. I was blessed enough to come across this marvelous video. What incredible talent you have...thanks for sharing it!! 👏
Absolutely gorgeous, I teared up. It's been hard to find the motivation to practice since I'm not in an ensemble right now (thanks, covid) but this might've done it! Thank you!
I heard your playing on your ad on Facebook and immediately followed you here. You are just amazing! I couldn't miss how clean and beautiful is your sound and technique, although I don't play any wind instruments. Amazing!
I remember when I was in highschool trying out for Allstate, rather than practicing 3 hours a day I’d take one day in the month and practice on 3 grams of mushrooms, made Allstate. When I pick tuba back up I’m definitely letting them be my teacher. You actually sparked something inside me to really push for it, thank you sir
that's an...uh...unconventional approach to the tuba. So you only practiced one day per month? Or did you cut back on the length of your practice sessions while adding in one psilocybin-fueled session every month? IME the only drugs that actually make you better at tuba are the mild ones like coffee, or medications if you have a health problem getting in the way. Psychedelics might help with musical expression, but I don't really see the benefit if you're looking to hone your technique, posture, breathing, etc.
@@Pellagrah it was a massive cutback I’m hours as the 3 gram-4gram psychedelic session helped me substantially in every area you just stated. So I’d maybe practice 3-5 hours a week or so and once a month have the trip involving only about 2-3 hours of it being hard practicing. Personally psilocybin took away the limitations I drew on myself as a tubist allowing me to practice without resistance to the practice itself which I had a lot of in terms of actually sitting my ass down and doing the work. It facilitated it and then some, I played best when I was using mushrooms and it translated a lot too without them(mind you I’m extremely adhd so I don’t expect others to have similar experiences as me)
@@Pellagrah I find the areas of growth needed identified with certain drugs to be relative, psilocybin allowed me to exponentially develop all areas of training and I rarely needed to breath during the sessions actually, I did more with less I suppose
How long have you been practicing? Your tone is magical it's almost unbelievable to think a Tuba can produce the sound of a Euphonium better than a Euphonium.
To be honest I was never a huge fan of this piece, but the problem for me now seems to be the instruments and not the writing itself. With tubas this is fantastic
so cool! i remember when i saw you perform at bowling green state university. having just taken a brass techniques class, i can definitely say you are one of the greats! thanks for your music :)
Such sublime playing, I am at the moment rehearsing your arrangement of Gabriel's oboe to play with a band. I play Eb, so it's quite high, but lends itself to the tuba beautifully. Is this arrangement available anywhere?
Bravíssimo - inspiration for me - I bought a Mirafhone tuba mirroring your talent and you are my reference in general - Sound - Articulation etc. Samuel Neves . Brasil -
Watch a few of his technique videos. I've seen some of them and have applied the knowledge to my flute practice. Heaven only knows how much air a contrabass flute needs to produce a full and sustained sound.
The switch isn't too drastic for most schools. You'll be challenged more than you were in middle school, but that will help you improve your musical ability! Personally, I enjoy high school band as much as middle school band, and I think you'll do great :) Happy Holidays
That vibrato is suuuuuper cleeeannn ive never heard anyone be that clean on tuba with that
thanks!
It’s Baadsvik, what do you expect
Probably the best tubist in the WORLD!!!!!
A beautiful demonstration of the versatility and musicality of the tuba. This is awe inspiring, thank you for sharing!
thank you!
This is why you are my tuba idol Mr. Baadsvik! Absolutely beautiful!
thanks!

Just found another video that I’ll be watching a 1000 times over. Thanks Oystein!!! Super FANTASTIC!!!

Bravo Øystein 😍❤ God Jul from germany

That vibrato was something else. Really amazing to see a master at work.
I read the title and thought, “but there aren’t 4 Øystein Baadsviks” well played sir.
Beautiful playing! Such wonderful music making! Thank you!
Many thanks!
Absolutely beautiful. I immediately bought the arrangement!
Thanks!
Beautifully done Mr. Baadsvik! I would love to see more content with your CC, I've never seen it before this video!
Agreed! 😀
Your tone, breath support, phrasing, the arrangement itself... Thank you for this gift.
happy that you like it!
Such a peaceful performance, thank you

Such a beautiful sound. I hope one day I sound as great as you!
You can do it!
Amazing. What kind of Tuba do you use for the lowest part?
A Hirsbrunner C
excelente maestro!! gracias!
Wow this is incredible! I just want to say that you are such an inspiration to me, and the reason i play tuba. Keep up being awesome:)
thanks you!
Absolutely beautiful Maestroooo 😫🤗😃❤️
Thank you Atika!

I’ve been playing since 1981 :)
Excellent!! ❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜

Che meraviglia!
I always understood that the angels played harps. Now I'm not so sure.
Wunderbar!
thanks

As a beginner tuba player, I want to ask how you have such good tone, I feel like I am always grasping for air whenever I play
Hi. Watch my video about breathing :)
Simplemente hermoso ♡
Wonderful! What type of mic do you use for recording the parts?
I use an AGK 414
Bravíssimo mestre 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Супер класс
Muito bom
Sometimes the intended instrumentation is not the best instrumentation
agreed, the tuba arrangement is clearly superior 😁🥇
@@samueldeleon412 if Bach had access to tubas, knowing Canadian Brass, he'd go absolutely wild. Shame he never could, but hey that's why covers exist
Oystein I’ve kept practicing but I can never sound good on my tuba 😔

Check out my webinar training at www.baadsvik.com/webinar. That should give you some clues on how to improve!
Hi I play tuba in 8th grade and I need some advice on what it’s like in high school

I play euphonium and tuba and I can't even hit some of the notes that you hit on euphonium! (By the way I LOVE new kid)
❤
looks like it's Air _in_ G now. 🙃 (sounded cooler in my head)
I've been trying to convince my wife to let me get a tuba. I haven't played in twenty years and I miss it.
😍😍😍😍😍
Я тоже тубес
Salut ce model este tuba și ce marcă este tuba
Part 1-3 is played on a Miraphone Starlight Eb, and part 4 is played on a Hirsbrunner C
Is that tuba in the bottom right a C?
Yes it is a Hirsbrunner C
And are tubas in others bottons a F or Eb?
@@luciano9015 If I remember correctly his bass tuba is a miraphone Eb
♥️♥️
Are the tubas on top F or Eb?
That’s the two most common. There are some obscure tubas, rarely in use anymore, that are even smaller.
Both on top and bottom left is his Miraphone Eb Tuba. Bottom right is CC
I Loveyou
Findes der et arrangement udskrevet?
