- For 20 days, I'd come home and spend 15-20 minutes writing with my left hand (I'm a righty).
I decided to film my journey, and was soon amazed at how quickly I saw progress.

As a lefty, this makes me happy. It's actually pretty cool to see right-handed people make an effort to write with the opposite hand, since a good amount of naturally left-handed people have been pressured to learn to write with their right hand in the past. Lots of people just consider it the "wrong" way to write.

My mom has 4 siblings. All of them were born lefties. But my grandpa forced them to learn right hand writing. That's pretty sad actually.

@Joel Roy I can confirm that (as a left hander who learned to write with right hand, and that’s besides the point since regardless of hand-dominance, some will be better at writing with their non-dominant hand than others). Besides, the logic, “average = better than left-handed writers” doesn’t make sense, unless I’m misunderstanding here.
@Joel Roy of course! Many left-handed peoples do write some stuff with their right hands also, even if it's too slow and too ugly. And most of the times, left-handed peoples learn to write with their non-dominant hands much easier and faster than right-handed ones.
During every parallel shift you transform and thus, terminate the timeline for you since you can't perceive it anymore. So technically, they're all at the same level haha.

That’s amazing! When you do such challenges for your self, you change your brain. Seems like nothing special to learn left hand writing, but it will actually have an immense influence on all areas of your daily life. You’re amazing! I also learn left hand writing but I was writing down just alphabet. After watching your video I understand that it has to be something longer than alphabet. Everyone who's ever written an in class exam essay knows the struggles of hand cramps when trying to finish within the class period. Imagine just switching hands mid essay
I used to do that. Sadly, I can't anymore (I hardly ever use hand writing, and I never write with my left hand - right had more practice), but it looked funny, because the letters looked a bit different depending on which hand I used.

The reason why I would consider to train my left is in case something bad ever happens to my right, so my left would be a back up and would save a lot if struggle
It’s a very good decision and you won’t ever regret... I broke my thumb and wrist and it changed my entire life!
I'm currently dealing with a pretty bad tenosynovitis in my right hand so I decided to use the time wisely and try learning how to write with my left hand🤭

Started using my left hand more 2 years ago, comes in handy when my right is tired. Being ambidextrous is a great skill guys totally recommend.

Joey Jia being ambidextrous means you can use your both hands for every activity you do equally, not just writing. I can use my left hand and right hand but just for certain activities so I have cross dominance (mixed handed), not ambidextrous.

jereene maycacayan it’s not just for writing, I use it for brushing my teeth, opening doors, chopping things up and so on. I get something similar to paralysis on either arms so I can’t depend on having one hand being dominant.

@@mina1954 Unless you are a soldier active deployed in a war-torn country or you ride a motorcycle, it is very unlikely to lose full usage of either of our arms or even lose your arms completely. You are more likely to get struck by lightning.
Even if you play dangerous sports like Rugby were injuries your bones WILL be broken at some point. You can snap your forearm completely in half or have your whole arm detached from your body at the shoulder, and it will still be fixable in surgey.
Your paranoia about losing your ability to use your right hand is extremely irrational. Rather worry about getting infected in the current pandemic.

Improving your own handwriting is actually quite doable, and fairly simple process in concept to work on, but naturally it does take some fairly critical analysis of your own handwriting and some dedicated time to sit down and work on practicing the improvement and the quality of each written character. A decent while back when I was in middle school or highschool, I personally applied this to my cursive writing on my own watch, and almost immediately saw some seriously dramatic improvements in a fairly short amount of time, despite having written in the style for quite sometime prior, which is honestly pretty ironic because they don't even teach cursive in school these days haha, but I don't see why it couldn't also be applied to standard writing in print! (And something I may just consider now that it's at the forefront of my mind, as my printing sucks too! xD) But needless to say I worked through things one character at a time, both in uppercase and lowercase. Having a visual reference of text sitting close by in a font that I really happened to fancy and, then really focusing hard on trying replicate it on paper with my own hand, with a decent amount of fluidity to it, and eventually after enough practice, the characters began to flow rather nicely and we're substantially more clean and nicer looking from where I had initially started. As simple as it is, I think in all honesty, as hard as it may oftentimes be to admit, humans are generally quite stubborn creatures, (myself included,) and will gladly skip over any steps or processes in our lives that feel unnecessary, just because we find ourselves achieving a certain level of sufficiency in very particular areas of our individual lives, and would much rather check it off as "good enough" and quickly begin to move onto the next thing we desire to work on. Regardless, the point I'm really trying to drive home is that it's certainly quite doable, and I believe in you if you so much as decide to take on the gentle challenge of improving your handwriting. Hehe :)
It only takes her 20 days to get perfect handwriting, and look at me over here, seven years of 2nd grade handwriting.
when trying to better your handwriting, usually what works best is printing out your desired handwriting and tracing over it and the alphabet. just trying to write everything that way. it'll be had but I know people who have actually been successful with this method.

In nursery I used to be ambidextrous but he teachers said it was bad to right with my left hand. It turns out this is useful! I am having some nerve issues in my dominant hand and I need to do things with the non-dominant one. I was trying to figure out ways to start writing, and this video popped up. Never say never!

I’ve been practicing to write with my left hand for 2 months now, and I want to admit, that writing with a pencil is not the same that writing with a pen. So if you want to write with your non dominant hand start with the pen. Pencil doesn’t feel the smallest vibration of your hand, but the pen does. Sorry for some mistakes, I’m not an English speaker)))
