We loosely used Easy Peasy for preschool for a few months earlier this year, but my son picked up on stuff so fast that I just moved him into kindergarten material. He’s currently working on Explode the Code 1, Kindergarten Math With Confidence, Handwriting Without Tears (purple book), Evan Moor Skill Sharpeners Math K (he loves this one so much), and some of the phonics pages from The Good and the Beautiful. I’m also using Phonics Pathways with him. He’s a lot of fun to teach. ❤
lol my daughter calls it puppy preschool. This is our first time using TGTB preschool but it’s been really sweet and effective. We are also using MFW preschool (mostly the Bible portion). This was such a helpful video. I’ve been debating doing a transitional year between preschool and kindergarten.
Love your encouraging words! I have 5th, 1st, and preschool. It's funny because sometimes the older ones teach the younger ones things. Then we start to teach them and they already know it, their sibling taught them! My preschooler has a long name and his sisters already taught him how to spell it!
I have this curriculum. Im not so artistic with kids stuff, so that had me worried in the beginning. But.......your video has just given me a good start❤
We used the puppy book - we also called it that haha - last year. My daughter is turning 5 in October too and we are doing a second year of prek for the same reasons you mentioned! I think having her start kindergarten closer to 6 will be great - that’s when my oldest start kindergarten too. We are using Bob books, explode the code book a, Evan moor prek math, math cubes, TGAB preschool practice sheets, TGAB preschool folder activities (she loves those), TGAB doodles book 1 and 2, and TGAB sparks and stars. We plan to end the year with TGAB kinder prep. So we will do a mixture of all of that. My oldest learned to read with bob books and I love that they have workbooks now. 😍
@@PursuingPeacehahaha we sure do! And her math book is the penguin book because it has a penguin on the cover lol - it works! Great minds think alike 😂
For preschool this year, we are using TGTB preschool as well (we are almost finished with unit 2), doodles & prewriting part 1 & mathematical reasonings for age 3. My preschooler really enjoys it!
Newbie from Delaware here for a 5 year old in kindergarten and first time totally freaking out bought some books off amazon for diff subjects though ughh
Hi! It's ok to be nervous. I always recommend The Good and The Beautiful curriculum for this age because it not only teaches your child, but it teaches you how to teach your child. Super easy and very inexpensive. You can do this! ❤️
@PursuingPeace that's the beauty of homeschool! In the almost 9 years we've homeschooled I've used several things and I now have one that graduated this year, one graduating next year, and one starting preschool😁 We are going with BJU Pathways for Preschool with my youngest. It's colorful and fun but the pages aren't too overwhelming for the way our brains work. This is my first time starting a child before 4th grade so I'm excited and nervous all at the same time!❤️
My daughter turned 3 in May of 2024. We haven’t done any kind of “school” other than the normal teaching toddler things. Would you still recommend we start with this curriculum when she turns 4? Or do you think we should try the toddler activity now and then this when she turns 4 or just start this when she turns 4? Any suggestions? 😊 thank you!
It depends on your little one, but especially the Letter of the Week curriculum is perfect for that age. With CC and one of these you should be set for preschool. If you want to just read aloud to her that would work too. 😉❤️
It really is up to your child. Some of mine were fine to start at that age and some weren't. If you do start at this age, I would recommend doing two years of preschool because hitting kindergarten at 4 is probably too early for most. But again.... it's up to you. You know them best. And you can always start and slow down when needed. 😉❤️
I wanted to buy this for my 3 year old (she will start TK in August 2025 because she has a mid-Sept birthday)… but we haven’t touched on letter sounds unfortunately, so seeing that the lessons ask to match the letter to the image… I don’t think she’d understand those? Thanks for walking us through the book to allow me to realize that. I’ll purchase the course book once she’s gotten some practice with her phonics. But she’d love the handwriting lessons, so I’ll get her that! Oh I just finished the video and the Letter of the Week program sounds exactly what I need! I’ll start with that, thank you! 😆🩷
What are you using for Preschool this year? ❤
We are using the Gentle and Classical Preschool

You always manage to make me laugh! Later on it's a little bit iffy 😂😂

Very cool! I'm glad this was helpful! ❤️
Love how you are using the two together!😊❤

Yes! Isn't that wonderful?! It's so great that your big kids are helping your little one. So much learning all around. 😁❤️
I have this curriculum. Im not so artistic with kids stuff, so that had me worried in the beginning. But.......your video has just given me a good start❤
Oh this curriculum will do everything for you! I'm not very creative when it comes to kid's stuff either....but this curriculum makes me look good! 😅

Thanks sounds like a great preschool year! ❤️

My daughter will be going Preschool from The Good and the Beautiful. I did it with my son last year, and he loved it.
How fun! It's so cool to go through it with multiple kids. You can really see the difference between them and learn how they learn. 😁❤️

Oh fun! Sounds like a great year! ❤️
We are using TGATB for preschool as well. It's such a cute curriculum 😊 We used it for child #3, and #4 will start in the fall.
How fun! Enjoy it mama! ❤️
Were you at the GHC at Kalahari this week? If not, I someone that looks just like you 😅
😂 Yes I was! You should have said hi! ❤️

This is the cutest program for Preschool! I wish it worked for us but the pages are just too busy for this Mom and little boy who both have ADHD😬😂
You use what works for you! ❤️ What other curriculum did you find?

@PursuingPeace I do enjoy TGTB for some of their older student programs and Science. I LOVE their handwriting!
Love your videos , i think you said you had a 3rd. Grader, will you do curriculum choices for 3rd grade?
Yep! That one is coming out next Monday. 😉❤️

I should also mention that we plan on doing classical conversations as well.

Thank you for your input!
Does the confessions with a HS come with picture book recommendations for each letter too?
YES! Several recommendations per letter. 😁
At what age did you start this curriculum? I have a 3 year old who will be 4 in January. Wondering if I am starting too soon.

@@PursuingPeace thank you so much. I think i will be going that route and doing 2 years of preschool. Thank you so much for the advice!

Great! I'm glad you found something! LOW program is perfect for that age!
