This game has a unique mission system, where the story branches based on your choices. Depending on the outcomes of certain events and battles, characters might live or die. Historically, Dian Wei and Xiahou Yuan die, but they live in the hypothetical story. This video shows all the events of both.

I'm pretty glad they brought in the Hypothetical storyline in, it's actually what use to be done before, and actually let you play way pass a character's life expectancy.
Something I hope for in the next DW game is more clashes between Wu and Shu. I understand why Wei is attacked by both so much but it is a war between 3 kingdoms and Wei is my favorite. Maybe smaller clashes that lead up to Yiling perhaps. And they should've have Wu or Shu conquer one or the othrt in one of their hypothetical endings instead of both destroying Wei. Still loved the game.

The cut scene from 7:40 to 8:21. Laughed so hard while playing the game during the scene. It's always humorous when the playable characters nonchalantly dispose of non-playable enemy officers. Arguably only rivaled by the scene from 40:45 to 41:45.
I've watched this video like, at least ten times (for the sole purpose of watching Xiahou Dun's Blinding Scene at 7:40), and this time I decided to watch it with TH-cam's Subtitles for shits & giggles. It's actually a little more fun than I thought it would be.
Best voice acting, best looking characters, great weapons, great side mode, fun and thrilling battles, extended endings for each kingdom and a lot of playtime. Definitely the best dw game imo
DW7 Xiahou Dun losing his eyes is better than DW8. I mean, he flinched long here. In DW7, it's like he doesn't care about it. Only a few seconds flinch. But I love the intro, though.

He's right. Cao Cao was incorrect with chaos being the problem. Chaos and destruction are two very different things. If Cao Cao sought to understand chaos instead of destroying it then he would have learned something. He would have learned the language of the savage beasts. Communication is key. Instead he claims the moral high ground and his empire turns into dust. Perhaps he even knew he was the chaos monster himself in the end yet knew no other way. Much like Nobunaga Oda in Samurai Warriors 5. Thoughts never mentioned to anyone, safe perhaps for Cao Pi who clearly went a different way.

And yeah, 6,7, and 8 are way too OP, that's why it turned to shit. DW3 is the best among all tbh, DW4 had the best soundtracks and they even perfected Lu Bu's theme. DW5 is still okey, but then 6,7 and 8 are just too easy to play.
I guess. You can always crank up the difficulty (which results in enemies having more hp and dmg, appart of being more aggressive). I like to play it as a power fantasy, but I'd love to see more aggressive enemies in lower difficulties.
