I used to work at a Mazda dealership in Elgin, IL and would sometimes deliver to AMS in West Chicago. I wanna say it was late 2010 that I saw this car in their shop. The hood was off, it had the 6.0, and if I remember right they were working on the plumbing for the turbo at the time. Even unfinished I was impressed!

I'm a big Cadillac guy and at first wished you had picked a Cadillac hearse. Then I started looking at your Caprice hearse and realize its a much lighter/shorter car to start with. The Cadillac hearses had a longer wheelbase/stretch along with more custom body work since they were supposed to be the top of the line, while the Caprice is the cheapie. Also those chrome bumpers on a 90's Fleetwood probably put an extra 100lbs on the car alone.

I fool around with Ford Model T and TT's. Now I want a Model T Hearse. From Wiki: "The name is derived, through the French herse, from the Latin herpex, which means a harrow [a flightless bird with hairy feathers?]. The funeral hearse was originally a wooden or metal framework, which stood over the bier or coffin and supported the pall. It was provided with numerous spikes to hold burning candles, and, owing to the resemblance of these spikes to the teeth of a harrow [ok, not the bird, the bird is always my fall back], was called a hearse. Later on, the word was applied, not only to the construction above the coffin, but to any receptacle in which the coffin was placed. Thus from about 1650 it came to denote the vehicle on which the dead are carried to the grave." "Bring out ye dead..."

In UK, hearses use the motorway, so they have to be able to do at least 70mph. My dad used to drive one, and some are limited to 70mph, as it would be embarrassing to get a speeding ticket in a hearse. But they should try some of them on the test track in Germany I think it is, the only place they can road cars up to top speed, like the McLaren's and Bugattis lol

I was one of ams first customers back in the day. 92 gallant vr4. Actually, TAD built the trans. Then ams did big stuff... Like 30k worth. Wife almost killed me. And I was their caterer. Martin was the cool one. Arnie was not cool at all. Seemed pissed their hot rod honey gravitated to me. We are still friends and she still drives frankenstein. Sold old 044 for a custom built by Devo 03 evo 8. Hated it. My aveo was more fun.

I loved watching your video, If you would like to buy another one I have a beautiful 95 Chevy just like yours and it’s a rare one they only made one out of six with the upgraded LT1 engine out of about 72 produced And it just happens to be black sapphire unfortunately has a blue interior with only 50,000 original miles
