    I admit, I am very anxious. That is what the KC HR did, it shattered the cloak of invincibility on our best stake for winning the whole gosh darn thing... our bullpen. It also invoked all our many past playoff improbable losses. On the bright side: we have a new manager, it's a new year, we shut down Detroit for 17 innings before The Fluke, our 'pen is amazing, our offense is better than theirs, our D is better than theirs..... LET"S GO GUARDS!!!

      Just cant seem to get it together it was a solid game in terms of base runners but just could not string it together

    Well said Jeff. One team wins a championship this year. If you can't enjoy the ride then why are people on it. If your sports enjoyment is championship or bust you'll rarely be happy. This is a FUN team and we have more baseball to play. We all need to be better to each other and to the game.

      It's been such a fun year for a team that had the top pick overall to turn around and excel I will always remember this team even if they lose

    It comes down to if Cleveland can score enough runs so if their pitchers make a mistake it won't cost them

      It's also about Tigers pitchers making mistakes and Guards capitalizing on that. And if Clase is any indication, every pitcher makes mistakes, lol.

    I’m thoroughly enjoying this year and this playoff run !

    Hitting is vital in this game. I don’t put high expectations on a 38 year old pitcher. I hope he can at least get its 3 innings and then it’s a bullpen game.

    Great show gentlemen! #1 movie quote is Kentucky Fried Movie, Fist Full of Yen. #2 I really worry about the TV deal because Tmobile has been giving away the MLB package for free for years. Yes the Guardians would receive a piece of what Tmobile pays, but I have to imagine it's 1/30 of What's left after MLB takes their cut. Once the black out is removed, all Tmobile and Guardians fans are in that boat. #3 is understand why they are starting Cobb, but I'd feel much better if Cantillio was. Had you started him used the 2 lefties out of the pen, there would have been a way to keep Carpenter on the bench for the whole game and deal with Greene. Hopefully the crafty vet that was an all star can pitch like one today.

      I thought about the T-Mobile deal too it feels like a situation where the money is going to be down for awhile. I agree I get why Cobb but would have felt better with lefties the tigers aren't good vs them

    I read where some of Cleveland's former players may follow Francona to Cincinnati. Hedges and Straw were mentioned. You can have them.

    Pitching will be pretty fascinating in game 3. I would assume Vogt will want to follow Cobb with a LH, but I could see Williams as well depending on the score and game situation. His #'s vs the Tigers are a bit skewed, he pitched against them 3 times in a very short span in July during which Meadows & Carpenter were still out hurt, and Greene was playing hurt and went on the IL right after. The last of those 3 outings was deadline day when the Tigers sold and the lineup was full of nothing and mailed it in. I'll be curious to see if Hinch tries to go with a bulk guy after the opener, or just matches up all day. If he empties the clip and they lose a close game, Thursday could be dicey for them. I assume he'll start one of the LH in the bullpen, but I wouldn't rule out Jobe possibly being next man in.

    • @GuardianofClevelandHeights
      @GuardianofClevelandHeights 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      even skewed, 22K's and 4BB's (Williams) is pretty damn good, especially when compared to the alternatives. IMHO

    • @Zinter1984
      @Zinter1984 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@GuardianofClevelandHeights His stuff is great, just saying this isn’t the same lineup he pitched against 2.5 months ago. They obviously don’t have great trust in him since they’re starting a guy who hasn’t pitched in 6 weeks, but I still wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the right situation.

    • @GuardianofClevelandHeights
      @GuardianofClevelandHeights 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Zinter1984 fair assessment. I wouldn't start him either in this spot. Rather have him in the pen.

    • @LockedonGuardians
      @LockedonGuardians  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      All very logically said, I wonder how he handles today as it feels harder to go to bulk after Montero I also would not be shocked if they went heavy bulk lefty after him though

    • @Zinter1984
      @Zinter1984 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@LockedonGuardians Yeah, Monterro is a bit of a surprise, but his #’s are good this year vs Cleveland. You’re right, bulk is likely out the window now, regardless of how long he sticks with Monterro. I don’t think it’ll be longer than once through the lineup unless something unexpected happens with the score.

    re: the negativity, I will tell y'all a story.
    many years ago Howard Stern had a bit where he talked about not wanting to be in the room when his kids were born, because...being PG here...that jurisdiction means one thing to the partner and one thing to the newborn, and he didn't want to mix the two. I think you know what I mean.
    My childless self was sitting with a married friend with kids a couple years back and I told him that I thought that made a lot of sense to me, and if I were about to have a kid, I would want to be in a different room in order to protect the relationship with my partner.
    So he looked at me and said, "why don't you just admit you don't want kids, because I can tell you I was in the room for the birth of my kids and that part of my life with my wife has no problems at all."
    I realized he was 100% correct.
    So you ask why the negativity, and I tell you its because they are revealing that they don't like baseball, plain and simple. Of course they'd like to experience a championship, but they'd like to experience it Total Recall style, where the memory of the championship is just downloaded into their brains. The thought of it not happening this year fills them with dread, because they don't like the sport in the first damn place. Its the same reason they wanted to cut bait on Lane Thomas after 50 plate appearances, and why I get blank stares from them if I ask them when they think Austin Peterson will make his major league debut. For us Guardians fans, the journey is the point. For them, the journey itself is awful.
    The negativity becomes completely understandable when you realize they aren't fans of the sport in the first damn place, in the same way my friend was able to ascertain the real reason for my reticence to be in the birthing room.

      That's a great take and I think you are right the casual fan is more a rageaholic and the Internet has only made it more so with people finding others to circle and vent about which just leads to more dislike. I don't understand why people hate watch things but people clearly don't with the guardians

      @GuardianofClevelandHeights 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@LockedonGuardians there is no doubt in my mind the internet has made the people I referred to in my comment worse. much worse.
      Imagine me going to a birthing class and sitting in the back making comments. of course they are going to be negative. I don't want to be there. So yeah, no clue why they hate watch. They could literally just wait for the parade and show up. No one would care.

    If the plan is to pull Cobb early and go to a lefty, for me it would be Cantillo not Sabrowski. Let Cantillo go the whole way through the lineup and force Detroit to deal with the bad matchups or flip the platoon advantage. Let Williams be the long guy if it goes to extras

    • @LockedonGuardians
      @LockedonGuardians  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Fair I could see that wonder if they are more likely to pinch hit if it's Cantillo than Sabrowski. Which might make sense to go with Eric to then go to Williams if they yank their righties

    Wow! Just Wow. I've just seen 3 of dumbest moves by Cleveland....and were still in 4th inning. #1 - To start game, in top of first, G's retired on 6 pitched! 6 pitches. How is that even
    possible? Did anyone consider taking a pitch or two (or three)?? #2 screwup - G's pinch-hit for Brennan in 2nd inning? What? You lose a left-handed bat for whole game without ever coming
    to bat! #3 - They did it again! Taking out Manzardo (with 1 at-bat) for Fry. So, when Detroit brings in a right-handed reliever, who's going to pinch-hit?????? Tigers in 4 games. GEEEEZ!
