@@icchorist They decided having dancebeats was a better creative decision over the more built up emotional tracks. Not a fan of the creative decisions taken on that record. At its best it sounds like a wannabe Bloc Party record, at its worst it's just depressing. Also no Will Yip, which was a monumental mistake. The production value on that record compared is a step down there's no denying it. Yeah they changed studios, which makes sense why he wouldn't be included anymore but IMO it's very rare where artists have full creative control and make a good record without at least someone or something kinda roping them in and giving them at least a general sense of direction. Which is what that record feels like it's lacking, direction.
@@lipsontajgordongrunk4328 Yeah, it was a little strange not having will yip on board since he knows his shit about production, and especially if they were gonna make a new record with a whole different sound. And when it came out literally everyone was comparing it to bloc party, kinda funny ngl. I think they just made some poor decisions and it led to an awkward result of an album. Although I still like the album, I can see where you're coming from. And it's their first release with full control over the album, so who knows, maybe they'll put out something later that satisfies everyone once they figure everything out
Their more aggressive stuff is better imo. This is good but I'm sad that there might never be another Chromesthesthia or TSBU. The contrast of the melodic stuff vs. the very punk stuff was special to me. At least the FTLOYG version of Pale very much delivered on what I was itching for. In fact, the FTLOYG version of Pale is my favorite Modern Color song. Still, I must sound like I dislike this and FTLOYG but I still very much like them.
The guitar tone is insane in this
I love finding bands like this. Life's little gifts amidst the shit.
Honestly
This band is just too good, every release is special
Haven’t stopped listening to this since it dropped
Found these guys a few days ago. Amazing stuff. Definitely what I need right now!
Here some recommendations if you don't mind - downward

- Only sibling
- Glare
- slow joy

When he sings "Through the walls..." It reminds me of Chino singing "Beware the water...."
Words don’t express my readiness. Love you guys.
These guys, turnstile and higher power are killin it!!!
I’m in love with this song. Such an amazing band
I’ve waited so long for new Modern Color.

Every track on this upcoming LP are bangers!
My gosh this is so freaking good.
This song is amazing.
I’m glad they’re going less aggressive thrash’s punk and more mellow shoegaze/grunge. Makes up for the last Citizen record being disappointing.
Lol whaa? I thought it was pretty good, what didnt u like about it?
