    In 2005 I bought stocks in five companies that pay dividends. I spent $5000 and their value is now $10,000. Every quarter I get a cheque for approximately $150.
    It always feels like free money!!
    I liked your info about the Dividend Aristocrat List and the Dividend King stocks list.🤑
    Thanks for being such an amazing teacher.

    Great video, Richard! This was a very informative video, especially for the beginner out there. Originally, I just began by investing in broad market index funds (and still do), mainly within my retirement accounts. However, when it comes to individual stocks, I invest in dividend paying companies for the best possible ROI. I usually first take a look at the dividend aristocrats and kings, from there I do deep dives on how they are currently performing and like to find yields between 3% - 4.5%, not lower nor higher for safety and reliability purposes.. Again, solid video!

      Haha, ya doing a bit of experimenting!!... We heavily edited this one but I think I'm going to go for an 80/20 approach moving forward because it took a long time to edit it.

    I love debunking the finance chart numbers everyone is used to seeing. Great mention of the types of yields there

    Not related to this video exactly but just wanted to get a quick response if possible. If a stock acquires a company with a value of $185 million would the market cap of said stock increase to at least $185 million not given to account other assets etc?

    • @IntelligentStockInvesting
      @IntelligentStockInvesting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s likely but the market doesn’t alway prices things logically. Market value and intrinsic value are not the same and so an acquisition should be measured by what is company A giving up in exchange for what they’re getting in Company B. If company be is worth 100 million and company A pays 185 million then company A has made a decision that was bad for the shareholders of company A.

      @@IntelligentStockInvesting the stock I’m referring to is $ICOA. Was a custodian play, just acquired a company valued at $185m yet the market cap of icoa is currently around 155m and they have another acquisition they will be announcing very soon. So was trying to figure out if it is undervalued or not basically

      @@iegan2 I'm not too familiar with the custodian play thing so I looked it up and it seems a little overly complicated for my liking. I like to keep it simple and just buy ownership of good companies at attractive prices and hold on forever. With regards to what you're talking about I think looking at the management is key. management can make moves that will make the management rich or it can make moves that will make the shareholders rich. So is the management shareholder returns focused or not? are they a significant shareholder themselves so that there is alignment? Was this whole little trade you're considering something that was promoted to you (usually very bad) or did you stumble upon it?

      @@IntelligentStockInvesting something I’ve been keeping an eye on, I follow them on Twitter and they were about to be pink current and had 2 upcoming acquisitions to be announced as well as cancellation of 2.59b share cancellation so that’s why I got in a couple weeks ago. Now pink current, signed LOI for $185 million acquisition of iBG Finance last week, tweeted saying it’ll be closed much much sooner than expected and they announced that they will be updating on second acquisition this week. Might still be early to get in if you want to give it a stab haha
