  • Here's one of 4 super wide body pinball machines Williams made in 1979 and 1980. Todd Tuckey shows you the magic our Pinball Guru Tony has done to this machine and then explains the clever ruleset too. A staggering 4500 of these were manufactured, but where on Earth are they today??

I have this machine, albeit not in nearly such beautiful condition. My grandkids grew up playing it when they’d visit. They now have kids of their own that are just about the same ages they were when they’d stand on step stools, each working a flipper button, and play it weekends at our house. I just retired; it’s too hot to do anything outside; and, now I’ve seen this video; all of which has inspired me to try and get our Laser Ball lady working again so this next generation can learn to love the sights and sounds of the steel ball and flippers.

Gorgeous machine. However, Frank's best work is done outside the shop.
    Kudos.

What a great looking game! I would never get to play it as it would "do me in" getting it down the basement steps. I'm still recovering from the Ms Pac Man and Slugfest you sent!

Kris Klepper Well, FIRST of all, if you are a steady watcher of our videos, they are called CELLAR STEPS...since they lead to your CELLAR! :-) AND....all games made prior to 1981 have heads you completely remove when moving them. Only about ten plugs and they are off....no hinge. Once the heads became hinged, then we fold them over when moving and only take them off if absolutely necessary! SO, it does make this puppy alot lighter to carry in TWO pieces!!

What were the other three wide-bodies from this era?

I just got mine sort of working. I love the mod with clear bumper caps and color LEDs. A previous owner hacked in their own button which was connected to the ball drain switch, similar to what was done on the coin door of this one. What's the purpose of that?

Very cool. Too bad they don't make wide body games anymore. I never got a chance to try one when I was playing pinball machines in the arcade unfortunately.

Riz2336 I really think you will find these machines popping up in the new flat rate arcades that are springing up!

Lovely video. I just bought a machine locally here in Sweden and it powers on and the GI in the playfield is lit up and the soundboard test works but everything else is dead. I ordered a new power supply so I could get the diagnostics of the different voltages. Have you encountered this before and could recommend something to try in the meantime I wait for my board form the states? Many thanks!

+AshOtaku Mono Power supply has 36 year old capacitors in it...that are all dried out...for starters!
