You *MUST* offset each "flip-through", as you can see she does here. It's an important step, otherwise you end up with 2 separate twists connected at the bottom. Which could be a look, don't get me wrong! It's just not the look you're going for if you're following this tutorial! 😆 Although she *DOES* show that she's offsetting the flip-through placement, many tutorials I've seen do NOT emphasize this step (or they skipped it & instead of refilming the whole thing, just quickly redid the 'braid' & showed that as the result 😄). It will NOT look like a braid if you don't offset it, especially the longer your hair is!
I tried this, and I can't say it worked, but I can't say it didn't either. it sort of did work, but also looked really strange from my mirror and didn't look too well.
??! Do you have curlier hair? I haven't had any issues with taking it down; I just take off the hair tie, then brush from the bottom to the top, as I normally would?? My kid & I have waist length hair (more from being too lazy to go get it cut, than from any strong desire to have long hair 😂), so we always brush/detangle about 6" or so, then move up 6" more & brush through, etc, until we're at the scalp. I could see it perhaps being more annoying with hair with a fair amount of texture, but it's no worse for us than if it were just in a regular loose ponytail. (& yes, this has been a pain to teach my kid, who wants to just start at the scalp, like you see on tv/movies 😆)
I definitely will do this!!!!
I'm trying to do more styles for my hair besides a ponytail!! 😂
Thanks! 😊
OHMAIGAWSH! You and me Liz, you and me 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭

Thanks for this comment I really needed it ❤
But still did not work
What do u mean by offset? Does it mean making a hole and looping the hair through in a different area?

So cute. Too bad my hair is shorter, but I really like this

😮
This is brilliant, but my hair is mad short and theres no way I can do this. But you bet Imma be trying this out on my sister.
Where was this when I was styling a wig huh?
Es geht auch einfach wenn man es weiss 😂😎🥰
Tried this, hair is too thick just ends up looking like i've twirled it and hangs everywhere...
It's important to offset it a bit each time you flip it thru, but yeah, it doesn't necessarily work for everyone. 😊
It's really cute but it's a bear to detangle when you take it down.

This is a hack and I still can't do it.
