N's sword in FR is honestly the correct pick. It's got Aegis power fueling it, it's got the user's own emotions fueling it, AND it's Lucky 7's older brother. It's so based. Not to mention, it's literally drawing power from the Collective Unconscious. The only reason N didn't win against Noah is because of his doubts. He was terrified of himself and the things he's done. If he just accepted it and learned to take that insecurity and push himself forward with it, he'd've been unstoppable. N beat out literally all the Founders at once, he solo'd the Lost Numbers raid on the Kevesi Castle, and he stood up to Lv. 3 Interlink between Noah and Mio, post M-ification of Mio. Had he not literally wanted Noah to win (plus his wife committing self-die), N would be the winner there. Heck, there are odds he coulda killed Z himself if he wanted. He was just terrified and clinging onto his safety net: the Now. If that's the kind of power and cool factor we're talking about, N's sword wins out, 100/10. N was a mess of a man, with too much power to handle what with his insecurities. A stronger man, honestly one like Noah, would've given that sword the master it deserved.
Also, leaving it in the sheath woulda been fun, because then you could do what the Swordfighter class did or even A with her stolen animations. Also, all the Moebius had special powers, M being the biggest example but T with the soulhacking, D and J with their OP perfected Interlink, O and P with their warped Interlink, X with the control... N probably had some NUTTY tricks up his sleeve that he never used. N coulda been like twice as powerful if he just tried. N and M Interlinking would've been SCARY. Plus, an all natural version of the sword Z gives him (Interlinking and then doing what Noah's Ouroboros does where he draws through the core) would be extra stupid. A shame that he and M were so different, after becoming Moebius. N was a changed (maybe deranged) man, and M was both mad at him and also trying to help their enemies. That Interlink couldn't happen. But if it HAD happened... That'd be based.
@@KaroxNightshadeI thought that Z basically gave him the interlink sword on the second battle in base Xenoblade 3. While Noah's represents Ouroboros with Melia and Nia's keys, N's represents Moebius with both keys. Essentially the interlink combines Melia's key with Nia's because Melia made the swords and Nia made the stones. Z basically just gives N admin so he doesn't need to interlink to get the full power of Origin. I basically saw it as the sword of Origin is when someone is using the blade to protect the Endless Now and Moebius and keep everything frozen, while the sword of the End is when Ouroboros goes from simply resisting Moebius to actively trying to destroy the endless now and let Origin continue on it's original programming and plan, essentially Moebius are afraid of Origin's intended purpose while Ouroboros embrace it and have hope that it'll succeed. While in the beginning it's more about soldiers not wanting to kill each other and such and being free of that but around the end it's surprisingly even more drastic than that and the real question becomes are you willing to sacrifice the status quo for a brighter future? As the game continues it's revealed that Aionios is essentially met to be stagnant and essentially is a lack of response to the crisis plaguing the world, as the Annihilation events slowly consume the world the soldiers are left too concerned fighting each other keeping themselves occupied with the Adrenaline of battle rather than the grim circumstances of the environment they live in. Further along this even the people remain stagnant and if it weren't for Ouroboros eventually founding the city the same people would die and come back and continue fighting keeping things in even more stagnation, reinforcing that Moebius's true goal is the preservation of the status quo and fear of Origin's true purpose. Throughout the game we see many Moebius but I believe the Moebius who represented Moebius the best were N and Triton respectively because of how they were humanized. Triton and N(to a much greater extent) both represent Moebius in it's most pure for in my opinion to the extent that they aren't truly happy with the endless now and truly recognize their own fear. Triton originally just didn't want to die and go on more adventures but as he killed others for his sustenance and slowly watched annihilation events destroy the world he ultimately regretted becoming Moebius, and N is an even better representation as he is literally just regret. As mentioned previously N is the #1 Moebius of Keves possibly in general and he in fact was an Ouroboros before, the truth of N was that he'd be alright in the Endless Now as long as Mio was beside him, letting Origin continue meant that he'd never see Mio again along with the possibility of everyone he loves dying of Origin failed, rather than risk losing anything he'd rather protect what he has even though it isn't sustainable. We see that throughout the game as annihilation events take place and Moebius even utilizes the annihilator, while Moebius may seem surperior at the moment, the truth is that slowly whether it be through interlink failures or time Annihilation events will accumulate and everyone will die Aionios genuinely isn't sustainable but for N he's willing to go thorough with it at because he feels as though he has more control in the stagnation. As the game goes on and N watches Noah who is essentially himself in better circumstances and less mental burdens succeed he immediately turn to rage, watching this Noah succeed makes N confront more aspects of himself he doesn't want to accept to which he has to self justify, he has to justify his fear of moving forward whether that be in his personal life or directly in allowing Origin to continue with it's plan of destruction and recreation. Throughout the game while N does seem happy at certain moments his eyes are completely washed out in most, N hates himself for being afraid of moving on as he is painfully aware of his choice to protect the endless now, the system that has oppressed him, but he is simultaneously afraid the reach toward the future, as he sits in his comfort zone as the world slowly falls apart. Even in the game in the Caldisia region especially we see evidence that annihilation events are likely eroding some of the small islands and spots from the world and Z deliberately crashed Origin into the Cent-Omnia region which drastically decreased the lifespan of Aionios in itself. Ultimately the Aionios at large had the accept that the system created to maintain the status quo was failing and furthermore have faith in Origin's ability to save both the world's and take the risk that both universes be destroyed (which ultimately paid off).
The Sword of Origin / Sword of the End is always really confusing to talk about because of little information and how many names it is given. Both N's own sword and Noah's lucky Seven exists at the same time, and are called the same thing, but seem somehow different. The reason the sword has two contradicting names in English is because in Japanese it is spelt as "Sword of the End" but pronounced as "Sword of Origin". A sword made to end reality, made from the metal of Origin. Makes sense in that language, but very hard to translate properly without being confusing. So that explains some of the weird name stuff with the sword, but N still has his own sword distinct from Noah's Lucky Seven, with a different model and different origin. It has a name pre moebius Noah gave it, but we never hear it. So unlike Lucky Seven there is no unique name to call it by. In fact there is a lot of weird stuff going on with the first Sword of the End. Its was used by several pre moebius Noahs who were killed by Z, and implied to have Logo's power. It also has the moebius symbol on it for some reason despite Noah using it to fight moebius alongside early Ouroboros. We don't really know how Noah got that sword across several lives either. Z ponders this question in FR and while doing so says Origin brims with the will of those who are unto Gods. So either the Noahs had the sword appear in front of them due to the will of those in Origin, or was given the sword by the Queens who had yet to go into hiding. Compare that to Noah's Lucky Seven which was for sure made by Melia, and infused with the souls of people precious to her. No Logos or moebius power involved. L7 has a different model than the other Sword of the End in its normal state too. The power of Pnuema is not part of the sword, but instead the sheath Riku made (possibly from the Ouroboros Knuckles of Mathew). When N and Noah fuse, the other sword disapears, but Lucky Seven gains a new art despite not looking different. It may of gained the Logos power from this, but we don't know for sure. This then leads to the question of if they are connected. The two seperate Swords of Origin both can change shape and size when using Ourobors power / Moebius power, and fuse together. Are they really seperate or the same metaphysical sword that can manifest in different places in different times? Like how Ontos created and powered Zanza and Meyneth's monado. Our Noah never truely draws the "real" L7 until the begining of chapter 6 when he resolves to destroy the world. If anyone else had that resolve, could they draw it too? Is the real Sword of the End tied to the metal, or a concept? Is it really the enemies we made along the way? TLDR, swords are confusing.
yeah there is a fine line between enticing mystery and confusing. considering how well written the series is in general, sword of the end feels like the writers didnt really know where they were going with this plot thread. and at least if the designs showed consistent transformations/evolutions, but there is conflicting visuals, like early noah using mobius sword pre-mobious. unless that was to imply his heard would be swayed to mobious eventually. when i dont think too hard about it, i can enjoy the swords' roles.
@Fermin-hw5pd there is actually a theory that one of the pneuma cores may be playing the role of Logos and it isn't necessarily Logos himself. So basically Mathew/Noah would have let's say Pyra's core and N could have Mythra's core. Or it can switch between Noah having Mythra and N having Pyra.
Sword of the End: Blade can cut through anything! Anything except the Firelight swords, the Monado REX, Nikol’s machine arms made out of what can only be common metal, and Glimmers blade. But everything else, hot knife through butter!
Theory If the Sword of the End is similar to the Monado, bending to the users will, like Shulk's Monado during the chapter in Prison Island, I think N's sword changed between Future Redeemed and the base game due to some change within him. My guess, his regret for killing Gondhor and inadvertently destroying the city
That's a good theory, something must've changed from the powers of Pneuma and Logos combining, all human pieces of Ontos no longer having a presence, and the Noah coming into existence even with N still being alive and Moebius. Not to mention like you said, his regret from killing Ghondor but not just that, the constant amassing guilt and regrets. All the way up to his breaking point.
I think I'd go with the Monado, ultimately. From a gameplay perspective, the techniques of Enchant, Shield, Speed, and Armor provide a wide range of support techniques that I quite like, while other more offense-oriented Monado Arts tend to provide relevant debuffs. In this way, it seems more adaptable to a wide range of scenarios, which, as someone whose favorite series also consist of Kirby and Mega Man with their versatile ability copying, is definitely something I appreciate. Of course, on a more narrative level the other swords do have more versatility than what is shown in gameplay alone, but these also tend to be more vague while the Monado's specific abilities tend to be more front-and-center throughout the first Xenoblade. Also, I guess on an even more personal level I don't particularly like swords that much, and with its supportive and even projectile abilities the Monado is the sword here that needs to be used AS a sword the least. I do tend to be a dedicated Support Main, but Sharla is not so great to play as, so party buffs and enemy debuffs with the Monado it is!
5:46-5:55 i just watched the video again, since i randomly looked up the art/render for N 1:11, then double checked in the "N going crazy at the castle" scene versus "N's final boss fight opening cutscene 5:52" and based on looking at the right angled triangle tip of the N's base sheath, versus Noah's regular triangle tip.... Ya it doesn't change in game from Future Redeemed 2:22-2:37 to the base game (hard to tell in the scenes in the video, but if you look at the scene where N screams "MIO!!!! All i did...i did for you😢" (from the scene at the agnus castle), you can see the right angled triangle tip version of N's sheath is used, and is used right up until the cutscene were he takes the sword from Z 5:30, then they both change to a more Mobius themed sword+sheath set 5:52). It DOES have the Mobius Purple Aura covering it normally though 1:37-1:47 (Noah's has the blue aura in fights), so that might be why you said it looks more like Noah's in the base game. 🤔 However, it DOES change to look more like Noah's (with the regular triangle tipped Sheath) during N's final boss fight. 5:53 If you look at it, it's a completely different sheath. (The new one has mobius strips going fully up the sheath, while his original only had on at the base of it) 5:24 his sword is changed in the cutscene, but it was always like that when he appears in the opening cutscene to his final fight. Meaning he got a power boast from Z, and the cutscene was updated to show N taking that power, by taking a sword of the end, closer in design to Noah's orbouros Sword of Origin 5:03. And his sheath also changes, for his final boss fight, to better match Noah's sheath too. For chapter 7, the sword+sheath change to match his mental state, after losing M and seeing Noah has become worthy of "The Sword of Origin? You are going to end it all?" 5:06 at the start of chapter 6. After that, N is broken but then is gifted with a mobius powered version of Noah's Sword of Origin (its changed from the regular version of the sword of the end to looking more like Noah's Orbouros version of the sword 5:30 vs 5:03). And N obviously takes it, comboing his Logos power with the power of "Mobius. The pinnacle of Life? The very world??!!" (5:10) to try and exceed Noah's new found power (with a new sheath based of Noah's current one too 5:52), only to fail miserably during his final boss fight and accept his death, merging with Noah.
It is interesting to note when Noah draws the true lucky seven, he pulls out his entire Ouroboros core with it. This means that the core of his "true" sword of origin/end has the Ouroboros symbol on it, while N's got the Moebius symbol on it. It seems like the double meaning of End and Origin can be seen as the sword being bend by the wielders will. Like N saw Noah's sword of origin/end and immediately knew "wait you are going to end the world". While N is the one desiring the now so much, his sword of origin/end comes with the symbol to preserve it all. Z might have enchanted his sword with all Moebius will he could gather to preserve this world, making that it's shape.
Yea that is one detail I thought of legit right after I got this up, that they could synonymously have the Sword of Origin and Sword of the End respectively for Noah and N. But Y ends up calling Noah's the Sword of the End lol, which wouldn't necessarily disprove that, but you know, I get that they're both essentially the same but differ depending on the user's will and intention. Like N saying Noah will end the world, is just the true world's origin and restart once again. It was kind of funny how even in Future Redeemed, not even Z knows how the Sword of the End came into the hands of N, just some regular dude in all this lol
@@MetaSF_ Well, sword of end/origin is the same sword in japanese anyways. From how I understood, they spell the word Origin in a way that could mean End at the same time. The translation just went with using both terms in tandem. It doesn't matter if Y calls Noah's sword the sword of the end when N calls it the sword of origin, they are both the same thing.
@@nicovoth7243 Yea, Y calls it the Sword of the End, N calls it the Sword of Origin, Nia calls it the Sword of the End, that's why I conclude they're effectively the same but thematically coincide with N or Noah how they so desire, and both names can be viewed in different ways to fit either or. So really it's still ending up being the same like you say
my choice still hasn’t changed. i’m still taking the monado. it’s your drive in the end that determines its strength and it’s way more rewarding that way. and also the monado literally looks so sick you cant deny it.
It’s really powerful, but it will never be as strong as it was in XC1’s universe, precisely because of that universe being made up entirely of the very thing that the Monado has control of: ether.
Last time I said the monado since it seemed strongest but learning more in the dlc cemented Lucky 7 as my fav. The idea of a blade infused w hopes n dream is already fire but the transformation and gauntlet make it that much better. Wish they put more emphasis on how important lucky 7 was tho.
yea that was kind of my biggest faults with xc3, the lack of more focus on the actual "xenoblade" for lack of better term lol. Don't get me wrong I get it cause the real thematic focus was on Ouroboros which is arguably much more important and I did like them doing that, but it is still different ya know
The spiritual journey that Noah and N go on throughout 3 and FR, and that thematically playing out with their swords, means I'm definitely picking Lucky Seven. Of course, you could say something similar about Mythra/Pyra but they're actual characters so the raw power of symbolism isnt as intense ❤ Thanks so much for this video, it's actually the first one of yours I've seen, but it's absolutely fascinating and you have a great style and natural ability for this
Those words mean a lot to me, so you're very welcome. I have fun doing these and I love Xenoblade as well as many other things so I will keep doing it. I'm happy you enjoyed this as your first video of mine. I'll work hard to keep providing content of this quality and better plus original, hope you stick around for more and thanks once again! 🤝
I always thought Noah had Sword of *The End* because in the scene Consul N remarks on it has him saying “You’re going to end us all?!” or smth and Ouroboros’d Noah responds “If the world holds our lives back, then I’ll end it, simple as that.” And also it worked thematically with Z’s representation of anxious dread.
Yea it's weird, N calls Noahs the Sword of Origin then Y calls it the Sword of the End. I assume its because its the same but it depends on the user's intentions from using it or something like that. In N's case, Sword of the End that ends all efforts of freedom towards the world, and Noah's that ushers in the Origin of something new
@@MetaSF_ I thought he said “another Sword of Origin” or smth as in he knew not of its name but just that it looked exactly like his own sword, an understandable reactionary comment he would make.
@@MetaSF_ Actually Melia refers as well to it as the Sword of the End when only referring to Noah alone, are we sure Noah isn’t wielding Sword of the End?
@@corrinflakes9659 thats kinda why it's strange lol. N and Noah call Noah's the Sword of Origin, Moebius Y and Melia had referred to it as Sword of the End, so that's what makes it tospy turvy tbh 🤔
@@MetaSF_ my interpretation for the themes if Noah is indeed wielding the Sword of the End and N wields the Sword of Origin. Noah brings about the End of Aionios. And he came later. N guards Origin, which created Aionios. And he came earlier
Hey man this video was so good! It actually really cleared up some small confusion about the design variance between the swords in base game and Future Redeemed! (And I'm a very core Xenoblade fan) I also liked how FOR ONCE someone compared the swords in not JUST power, how strong they are ect. You actually acknowledge the thematic side and cool-factor. That's so rare and I really appreciate it (subscribed!) As for my pick? Definitely the lucky 7, specifically the one that you use in normal battles like with Noah 's talent art. Why? It's all due to how cool the animations are! When Noah first pulls it out and glides his hand across the blade, and the piece of his sword turn into his gauntlet...oh man! And then as Harry McEntire himself says all the time on stream when he's playing Xenoblade 3 is he loved the 'Dimension Ripper' animation! He calls it 'metal as heck!' couldn't agree more hahaha
Glad you enjoyed it so much! And I appreciate the depth of response, I try to dig deep into how these things play into each other but literally in the worlds and their thematic placement so I'm happy when others can notice them as well. And you're completely right, out of pure cool factor I think Lucky 7 for sure is at the top, and you get the GAUNTLET too? It was so cool they had to have Link steal that drip, so good. They did the art animations so much justice for the gameplay implementation too
The Monado seems to be a good middle point since it has the capabilities for both offense and defense, but it's to difficult to use since all you need is to loose a bit of conviction for the power to dip. The Aegis's problem, as you said, is maintenance. You have to take care another being for the sword to have maximum output. The Lucky 7 - Sword of Origin/The End, is both physical and metaphysical, it has not as strong in terms of output like the other two but can still dish out some good damn when the user is in the right mindstate. In the end, I would choose either Pneuma Aegis since it seems fun, or L7 - SO/TE if want some for stable. Favoring Pneuma Aegis a bit over.
@@MetaSF_ I get it, lucky 7 sacrifices power for consistency. but come on, you doesn't want a good travelling companion who's a good cook, I definitely do.
@@CakSindox now I'm perfectly fine with people around me, but you'd be surprised how many people commenting NOT wanting to have to deal with another person or interaction lol even if there's benefits of varying kinds
Well Future Redeemed is set before base Xenoblade 3 (obviously). Meaning N's original sword looks the way it does because he didn't clash with Noah's Sword of Origin which led to it breaking. Then he gets his Sword of the End from Z later on.
That is true, but I think when looking back, N's sheathe in Chapter 7 is still the same even though Noah shatters it in chapter 5? Harder to tell because I don't think we truly get a good shot of it at that point in the endgame. Even more unsure cause in Future Redeemed, Z mentions how he doesn't know how the Sword of the End made it into N's hand, and Rex also refers to N's weapon as the Sword of the End. That's what really made me unsure of why it didn't appear how it did in Chapter 7 of the base game, since Z and Rex refer to him as already having it.
@@MetaSF_ Yeah I get the thematic reference to the sheathe, but why not have that reference in base first then we come to understand it in Future Redeemed. Instead they chose to make it look like Noah's but purple in the base game.
@@sincere9222 yea that's really I'm getting at. Not sure why they chose to do some of those things that way. Some make sense and others seem like they just didn't consider it
N's sheath is the same in base game, it just looks double-edged in that shot because of the purple flames on it, but when they're deactivated, like in the WHY MIO scene you can see it has that same asymmetrical shape
This is why I wish there was more clear shots or models of it, cause theres a lot of shots where it just isnt like that and looks just rounded or is pointed at the end, especially chapter 7, it's weird but good point
@@MetaSF_ Concept art of the sheath from the artbook where you can get a good look at the sheath has been posted online Anyways, the reason the sheath seems to look different in FR is just because he wears it with the cutting edge on the bottom, rather than on top like in main game. This is completely intentional as well, since the flashback in main game also shows it with the cutting edge facing down. I have no idea what the significance of the sword/sheath being flipped in main game is, though. And in chapter 7, he gains an entirely new sheath that looks a lot like Truthsinger.
It's a toughy but I think ima go with tbe sword of origin, it just has this undeniable cool factor that I personally feel outweighs the other two. Also what was the song you used in the outro? It sounds so cool.
Not to mention, as far as design goes it's the most uniform which I know goes a long way for people. And the song in the outro is called 'Unpainted' from NEO: The World Ends With You, and it's an absolute BANGER, you'll love it
The Sword of The End is in Future Redeem. I you look closely when your shown N's memories, before he fights Na el he has the Sword of The End with the different sheath. He doesn't fight with it or have it in the second part of the cutscene. It was very odd
The aegis sword at its full capability was supposed to have access to the power of all blades and as such all aether powers. Riku said that "everyone" is in the sword origin but we know that means something specific. Anyhow, origin metal contains data equivalent to souls and so the origin sword contains power equivalent to all those people... That's the sword by itself But since noah possibly also has the pneuma core with him, that would give him that much more power. Also the moment when everyone interlinks against Alpha showing symbolism of logos and pneuma working together is pretty epic
I LOVED that scene, especially when Matthew punches the sword and then it just zooms in on A looking so happy and proud of Matthew, love it. Also as far as how much power origin metal has to give the sword its power is hard to say, but we know its still an incredible amount at the very least lol
My choice hasn't changed (if you even remember), the sword of origin/End. It's still a strong, balanced, baneful blade, nothing extra like like the aegis nor the monado.
Future Redeemed was pure tightly packed fan service. I actually found it kind of odd that they waited for XC3's DLC to give us all of that. With the way XC2 ended, they had us all thinking that the base game was gonna be just like Future Redeemed only longer so when it wasn't, it was sort of a let down. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED XC3. So much in fact that I put over 200 hours into it, but I did expect the kind of fan service that we got in Future Redeemed and I think it would have been good to space it out a little more.
I see what you mean, but after Future Redeemed it made me more glad that they did it the way they did because they wouldn't have been able to fit all of THAT into the base game and that's STILL with the fact that Future Redeemed could've been an even bigger and more expansive game than it was. Of course, they could've written a way to meld it all into one big cohesive piece, but they had so many ideas outside of the xc1 + xc2 fusion that man, I love that it was an original story that still combined the 2 games even if it was in a lighter way than it could've. But I completely get what you mean
@@MetaSF_ That's a good point. A lot of what held FR up was the foundation set by not only XC1 and XC2, but also XC3. It's possible that FR wouldn't have been as amazing had they spread it out. FR was so damn good that it left me with the urge to replay the whole Xenoblade franchise lol.
The Monado IS THE quintessential Xenoblade sword, so that is the clear choice. It's abilities and impact still beat the Aegises or the Sword of the End, imho.
Kind of question the idea that N's Sword of the End has the Logos core. Then again. If Origin metal is comprised of the data containing all life in both worlds, it could be a facsimile of Malos' power. Aionios itself uses locations from the previous games that shouldn't have existed in the way they do, at the time of the intersection. (e.g. Bionis' head, a fully formed Mor Ardain titan, Raguel lake) So it could be some record of the past was contained in Origin, and used to reform certain lost powers like Logos.
Yea I was super skeptical about it too, but the sheathe looking really close to Malos' monado on TOP of the purple hues AND it heavily focusing on it having special power, on top of it showing Pneuma's core and as far as how much of comparisons there are being good and bad sides along with the core's place in the story, I kinda believed it. Plus it has to be somewhere, and it would only be poetic for the Pneuma and Logos' cores to clash again from Matthew and N to Noah and N. Part of my only issue with Future Redeemed is that it being the end to this saga, they just didn't clearly say certain things I think they should've
Even with this video going further in-depth with 3's protag sword, I STILL get confused on what the names are for each one lmao. So from what I'm getting, are they both called Sword of the End? Or is it just a term for them? Or is it Lucky Seven and Sword of Origin for Noah with N getting Sword of the End?
listen, I'm the one that made this video and even I'M just barely got up to speed on what to call each one LOL. I call Noah's full one the Sword of Origin and N's the Sword of the End, and for Noah's inner blade that's Lucky 7. And then what I actually DID NOT mention, was that after you beat Chapter 6 (or beat the game OR upgrade his weapon but you get it) if you go to the menu, then System, then Hero Roster and select Noah, it calls his weapon "Truthsinger". So that's ANOTHER name, I kinda wish I brought that up now but it isn't really what the video's about but it would've been funny
Personally I highly doubt current Ouroboros powers use Logos’s power in interlinking personally, considering how N still had Logos’s core when Riku and Nikol were powering up the stones
I think it's less that they used Logos' power, but more that the true power of Ouroboros was able to be manifested thanks to the combination of Logos and Pneuma's ether energy in sync. Maybe once it happened that first time, or since N still had Logos' core, maybe it was able to fully unlock because of the Ouroboros stone actually being fully powered for once when it was used instead of just pieces of Pneuma and Logos' powers 🤔
@@MetaSF_ I like to think that they were just able to understand Pneuma’s core crystal more after the fight against Alpha tbh, especially considering the fact that we already know that The Sword of Origin/The End are supposedly Logos
Correct me if I’m wrong but revolving interesting cut scene changes I’m pretty sure that before a patch during the flashback with Shania and Gondor it showed Shania using Gondors Unique fist but as of right now it just shows a standard Kev S black and blue fist also I’ve never understood that cut scene it implies people or at least city people can change their blades at will and I was gonna say maybe it’s because of Oroborus ancestry but I don’t feel like that would make sense because Shania is from house reid And panacea was never granted Oroborus powers so it just feels kind of odd
Oh really, I might have to take a look at those, I would've come across it soon anyways because a lil insight, I'm working on a Shania video in the near future. But that's an interesting case right there, I mean Blades in Aionios aren't like xc2 so having one or some different ones aren't too strange but I don't think I've seen people really CHANGE them. Not sure why Ghondor's cestic would ever be not her signature ones 🤔
Another thing I’m curious about is how is Shania able to keep her sister‘s blade after her death the only time something like that happens is with a flesheater but only that blade just keeps to keep living even if their driver dies but as far as I know Nia is the only flesheater left in in threes world that has her original properties since she’s never been reborn versus Soldiers that just have a core crystal like one
@@skylerholloway2847 I'm not sure, I don't remember anything really with how Blades work and with people's lifespans, at least for Aionios. in Alrest it's different but in Aionios, I think they're just weapons anybody can pick and use regardless of specifics
I heard a lot of people say that Noah's Sheath/Veiled Sword containing Pnuema's Core crystal, if that's the case then why not show it in the credits of Future Redeem like with Matthew's Fist of the End that the core Crystal of Pneuma appears. Instead it appears the symbol of Ouroboros. To me that's proof that Pnuema is not related to Noah's Lucky Seven that power comes from the will of the 7 persons Riku mention, 7 individuals important to Shulk, Riku and Melia, which are also empowering Shulks Monado Rex+. I don't need to explain it do i -_- And there is more, in at less the spanish translation the them that Rex always uses is the plural for females "Ellas". This leaves 2 options one Pyra and Mythra are powering both Matthew and N. Or 2, the Core Crystal of Pnuema, it's more of the representation of what she represents, spirit, and it's being more imply that it's the will of Nia and Melia on this last scene... Either way, i would like more confirmation regarding other translation if it's the plural for female being use and not a general for persons, like it's the case on the Spanish Translations, because if it's the case, then no Logos is gone, confirm.
Very interesting, and yea I know by the time of the main game even if that spot in Noah's sheathe was for the pneuma core, it was gone anyways so by then it isnt powering it. It's definitely more reliant on the Lucky 7 blade's actual power and connection to Origin and the lives within like Melia had told about. I do wish Future Redeemed was more blatant about saying or explaining certain things with it being the end of this saga. I think it needed it for sure but it still came out great. But still having some questions about some things specific to even just xc3 aint great but we do get the gist lol
Origin and the end Sword of the end is the sword that been create by moebius Sword of origin is the sword that been create by the queen When combine together they create the sword of uroborus?infinity?moeborus? Well let just call it origin 3 I mean it's all final form of xenoblade sword call as when reaching their strongest state
I like it, but it could use a unified name officially but considering some of the things they still don't explicitly state in the lore, we aren't getting an official one lol
@@MetaSF_ whoops to long Sword of the end-power based on emotion(power depends on person determination) Sword of origin-power based on connection(how close you to your love 1) Origin 3-based on emotion and connection Strongest?probably yes but still not strong as monado 3 Tbh I love this concept it has yin yang vibes to it
@@ligeringspirit1133 Xenoblade 3 kinda plays with the duality concepts a lot and I really like it too given those vibes. Keves and Agnes, Life and Death, Narrow and Open Minded, Freedom or Containment in the Cycle, and the two halves of Alpha and A, there's more but I'd be typing mad long 🤐🤐
Does _____ of the end come from the weapon having a trinity processor core in it? Fists of the end have pneuma, sword of the end has logos (or at least malos)
I think the naming of it more comes from the influence and impact it had on the world rather than the exact power source, at least that's how I interpret it. Same goes to sword of origin. Makes a bit of different perspectives given whose side one or the other is on
You still didn’t seem to understand why Ontos was so powerful in XC1. That universe was more or less PURE ether. Ontos shaped it, so when the Monado is able to control ether, it is able to fundamentally shape reality. In XC2, the Aegises did NOT create the world; they are a part of it, and can influence probability through the ether that still permeates life, but it isn’t the fundamental building block of all matter in Alrest. Pnuema can shape _local_ reality, but that’s the extent of it, because unlike Ontos, she didn’t have full control of all of creation as a creator. It’s also why Alpha was incredibly powerful, but still not at the same level as Ontos was in XC1. Ontos’ core was a building block that helped set rules, but it didn’t make everything. It provided logic and helped hold everything in place in the instant where things would be remade. Logos, finally, was able to DESTROY on an atomic level whatsoever he wished, and somehow you forgot to mention that too. Also, Logos disintegrated into nothing after being critically damaged at the end of 2, so whatever form of Logos was present in Aionios was likely a reconstruction based on Pyra/Mythra’s data, kinda like Malos did when he had Pyra captured at Morytha.
No I understand why Ontos was as powerful as he was, he both had a more direct link to the Conduit like Pneuma only in that form is able to do, but the Monado simply isnt all about its influence on the world around it being due to the ether construct. Me personally, regardless of that it was the will of the user is what truly made it powerful and not to mention, even without being able to conteol the fabric of the world due to the others not being as ether constructed as 1s, its power in abilities and arts through the form of ether emission is still essentially unchanged. That's why he was still so powerful. As far as Logos goes, even though it never explicitly says, even if it isnt the original it still contained enough power to harm Ontos and his own core through N's Sword of the End and his potent emotions. Ether emission above all else, still proves the biggest asset along with willpower, both ahead of reality manipulation by way of ether
At first I also tought that N' sword had Logos crystal by the light alone. BUT In the final battle Rex says something like 'If only those 2 were here". And after the fight, when they were talking about giving their life force to Glimmer and Nikol, Rex says "If it was them..." - followed by a zoom to Mattew's and N's weapons. In both sentences for the spanish subs was used the word "ellas" wich means "they" when talking about plural female people, instead of using "ellos" which applies for plural male OR for including both males and females in the same group, depending on context. I read somewhere that something similar happened with italian subs but I'm not sure. And that's enough reason for me to believe that Matthew's fist and N's sword have Pyra's and Mythra's core crystal. But I don't know which one is which. Also I don't think that they took the trouble to give them 1 body each just to merge again into pneuma.
The mondao cant rewrite a universe also it was the conduit that allows that. Kalus was the one who allowed that to happen after the conduit dissaperd so the agies's only have whatever power is left in there cores. Also pneuma and Alvis could only draw power from the conduit malos might be able but didn't have access. Also Pneuma can move faster than light which niether monado and sword of end can do. Honestly I think Pneuma is better she beat Malos (logos) so thats one down and the monado can't keep up with pnuema and she can alter reality too.
Or rather I guess you could say The Architect just completed the feat for Pneuma on that side of reality, like Shulk with the True Monado was able to get Alvis as Ontos to perform ✍
Now THAT I can get, I mean as somebody who'd love a lightsaber I didn't even think about that being a factor people may not want lol. Not trying to get sliced just by the smallest touch, I get you
hmmmm I'd say it doesn't change anything for me in a positive or negative way. Similar with the Logos and Pneuma stuff with N's blade and Matthew's Gauntlet. I mean we already were essentially told in game that it was composed of the friends so fiora was already a part of that anyways. Doesn't really change anything for lore or the characters to me either
still picking aegis cause its not just lucky 7 that can break flame clocks but at the same time i appreciate them for making sword of origin/end more relevant to the plot than just "super sharp blade"
yea that was one of my biggest "issues" with XC3, was its staple blade not being as plot centered. HOWEVER, it wasn't too big a gripe because I understand that Ouroboros basically took place of that, so its relevance was more important, and with how well done it was, I'm not mad at it. That concept went great in many ways.
well mythra and pyra did individually retain one even after they split, so maybe glimmer had it and just never used any of the power or just ended up with ones of the cores but without it having any power
Honestly i’d either take an Aegis. Aside from superpowers they have (and could grant their Driver if we’re talking about a fully fledged Aegis like Pneuma) it’s also someone to talk to.
@@MetaSF_ To be fair, while SoO and the Monado both sound cool on paper, the hell’d you use then for? Like, sure, seeing the future is cool’n’all but the Monado fully relies on ether, something that doesnt exist. Lucky Seven/Sword of Origin is basically a superweapon, why’d you want it in your day to day?
@@coldtyrant2557 if people can buy fake versions of these now and have them just to have them, imagine if they actually functioned, wouldn't put it past a lot of people to actually use them for decoration or protection tbh lol. And hey if you don't wanna imagine arts being used they're still hilariously huge and blunt lol
At least in today's world, there are a lot more people who are lonely and just need a friend and companionship than there are people who need a powerful or sharp sword. It's really no question which choice would be more helpful for the one making the choice.
sword of the end... sword of N.. im sure behind all this lore talk the developer actually had a laugh and settle with that name also because of the wordplay . lol but seriously they switch between calling it sword of the end and sword of origin in the base game that could make players confused if they are not paying attention. not to mention both has same design altho N sword seems losing its shines a bit compared to noah lucky seven
Yea I thought it was A too, but the way Matthew named them all at the end that he left behind at the City, and then how the plaque for the 7th spot not having a statue was a conscious decision by the founder themselves. Makes sense with how Riku as a person doesn't like talking a whole lot, how when he was telling Matthew that Melia was his masterpon that he doesn't like celebrity namedropping, he's not shy but doesn't like a whole lot of fame. PLUS, he couldn't have a statue of him or else literally everybody would've found out his secrets if he showed up there with them and they saw his statue lol
@@MetaSF_also by the end of FR, A is already back inside origin taking the place of ontos/alpha as the avatar to keep it running along with shulk and rex. So it's not like they really "founded" the city afterwards because they weren't there. Similarly, the only reason shulk and rex have statues is because linka and panacea (the actual founders) made it in honor of them. So it makes sense it's Riku for the 7th since A wasn't even there afterwards.
They really saw the Sword of the End in base xenoblade 3 and said "But what if it was even BETTER"... smh
Still picking Pneuma, but knowing that Riku probably slipped the core into Noahs sword is awesome.
Understandable, I get ya
I don't think they could have used Malos' core crystal for the sword of the end, Malos disappeared along with his core
yeah there is a fine line between enticing mystery and confusing. considering how well written the series is in general, sword of the end feels like the writers didnt really know where they were going with this plot thread. and at least if the designs showed consistent transformations/evolutions, but there is conflicting visuals, like early noah using mobius sword pre-mobious. unless that was to imply his heard would be swayed to mobious eventually. when i dont think too hard about it, i can enjoy the swords' roles.
@@Fermin-hw5pd don't think so, ontos "disappeared" as well and even more so
@@rezeraj But his core appeared on Bionis one day, Malos' core was destroyed
Sword of the End: Blade can cut through anything!
Anything except the Firelight swords, the Monado REX, Nikol’s machine arms made out of what can only be common metal, and Glimmers blade.
But everything else, hot knife through butter!
too soon (but TRUE)
@@MetaSF_ Well if you’re gonna market it as something that can cut through anything, you might wanna make it do so!
Theory
If the Sword of the End is similar to the Monado, bending to the users will, like Shulk's Monado during the chapter in Prison Island, I think N's sword changed between Future Redeemed and the base game due to some change within him.
However, it DOES change to look more like Noah's (with the regular triangle tipped Sheath) during N's final boss fight. 5:53 If you look at it, it's a completely different sheath. (The new one has mobius strips going fully up the sheath, while his original only had on at the base of it)
5:24 his sword is changed in the cutscene, but it was always like that when he appears in the opening cutscene to his final fight.
The Aegis = Pneuma
The Monado = Ontos
The Sword of Orgin/the End = Logos
MetaSF: Choose one.
Me: Hmm... MONADO JAIL!!!
Monado.....ARMOUR
Love that loyalty, I love the Monado's design too it's so sick, always makes me think back to that incredible title screen
Of course, you could say something similar about Mythra/Pyra but they're actual characters so the raw power of symbolism isnt as intense ❤
Thanks so much for this video, it's actually the first one of yours I've seen, but it's absolutely fascinating and you have a great style and natural ability for this
Those words mean a lot to me, so you're very welcome. I have fun doing these and I love Xenoblade as well as many other things so I will keep doing it. I'm happy you enjoyed this as your first video of mine. I'll work hard to keep providing content of this quality and better plus original, hope you stick around for more and thanks once again! 🤝
I always thought Noah had Sword of *The End* because in the scene Consul N remarks on it has him saying “You’re going to end us all?!” or smth and Ouroboros’d Noah responds “If the world holds our lives back, then I’ll end it, simple as that.”
And also it worked thematically with Z’s representation of anxious dread.
(And I'm a very core Xenoblade fan)
I also liked how FOR ONCE someone compared the swords in not JUST power, how strong they are ect. You actually acknowledge the thematic side and cool-factor. That's so rare and I really appreciate it (subscribed!)
As for my pick?
They did the art animations so much justice for the gameplay implementation too
I can't bring myself to not choose the monado, but dual wielding the aegis swords was way hype for me!
Very understandable picks with good reasoning, lots of people don't mind lucky 7 cause they don't wanna think too hard with the others either lol

Still picking both the villain swords. Especially now that it is basically confirmed that they are one and the same.
You really came out the winner huh
Some make sense and others seem like they just didn't consider it
I never end noticed that detail for N in Future Redeemed
N's sheath is the same in base game, it just looks double-edged in that shot because of the purple flames on it, but when they're deactivated, like in the WHY MIO scene you can see it has that same asymmetrical shape
This is why I wish there was more clear shots or models of it, cause theres a lot of shots where it just isnt like that and looks just rounded or is pointed at the end, especially chapter 7, it's weird but good point
@@MetaSF_ Concept art of the sheath from the artbook where you can get a good look at the sheath has been posted online
Anyways, the reason the sheath seems to look different in FR is just because he wears it with the cutting edge on the bottom, rather than on top like in main game.

And the song in the outro is called 'Unpainted' from NEO: The World Ends With You, and it's an absolute BANGER, you'll love it
I’m here because even tho I love the Monado… I’m a Sword of Origin lover
Same, and I love you came to the video 🤝🏾
The only thing that was missing was Noah Dual-wielding Origin and the End
Honestly, it would've given Noah more points for me LOL, but he got the gauntlet drip so he got some sauce points already
@MetaSF but if the End scabbard did the same...
I watched this video three times and i still dont know what it does.
LOL, I tried, they was makin it hard callinh them all 3 different names and sometimes 2 different things the same name
The Sword of The End is in Future Redeem. I you look closely when your shown N's memories, before he fights Na el he has the Sword of The End with the different sheath. He doesn't fight with it or have it in the second part of the cutscene. It was very odd
It's strange because it really does change in different instances you see it, I wish it was more consistent even if it is most of the time
The aegis sword at its full capability was supposed to have access to the power of all blades and as such all aether powers.
Riku said that "everyone" is in the sword origin but we know that means something specific.
Anyhow, origin metal contains data equivalent to souls and so the origin sword contains power equivalent to all those people...
That's the sword by itself
But since noah possibly also has the pneuma core with him, that would give him that much more power.
Yea I definitely remember, still can't blame you considering it's the only one with an actual uniform look cause the rest are so angular lol
Wow glad i found you again
Glad you made it back to me and enjoyed, plenty more to come 🤝
Future Redeemed was pure tightly packed fan service.
It's abilities and impact still beat the Aegises or the Sword of the End, imho.
well said well said, I mean like at Xenoblade 1's title screen, still nothin like it came after. Even blind you can feel so much potency in it
@@MetaSF_ Big facts my friend.
(e.g. Bionis' head, a fully formed Mor Ardain titan, Raguel lake)
So it could be some record of the past was contained in Origin, and used to reform certain lost powers like Logos.
I’m choosing the sword of origin
Sword of Origin stocks have gone up...
@@skylerholloway2847 I'm not sure, I don't remember anything really with how Blades work and with people's lifespans, at least for Aionios. in Alrest it's different but in Aionios, I think they're just weapons anybody can pick and use regardless of specifics
pnuema and logos at it again.
I don't need to explain it do i -_-
And there is more, in at less the spanish translation the them that Rex always uses is the plural for females "Ellas".
Origin and the end
Sword of the end is the sword that been create by moebius
Sword of origin is the sword that been create by the queen
When combine together they create the sword of uroborus?infinity?moeborus?
Well let just call it origin 3 I mean it's all final form of xenoblade sword call as when reaching their strongest state
I like it, but it could use a unified name officially but considering some of the things they still don't explicitly state in the lore, we aren't getting an official one lol

BUT
In the final battle Rex says something like 'If only those 2 were here".
@@MetaSF_ actually it was still Kalus allowing Alivs to use power because he was controlling the conduit

hmmmm I'd say it doesn't change anything for me in a positive or negative way.

What? Riku was a founder not A????
Yea I thought it was A too, but the way Matthew named them all at the end that he left behind at the City, and then how the plaque for the 7th spot not having a statue was a conscious decision by the founder themselves. Makes sense with how Riku as a person doesn't like talking a whole lot, how when he was telling Matthew that Melia was his masterpon that he doesn't like celebrity namedropping, he's not shy but doesn't like a whole lot of fame. PLUS, he couldn't have a statue of him or else literally everybody would've found out his secrets if he showed up there with them and they saw his statue lol
@@MetaSF_ the egg does represent riku better than A
