That's brillant using feathers for palm fronds. Great stuff again Rick!
Thanks 👍
Well done on the palms. I'm a Floridian and palm trees are a everyday thing here and I've got to say.... you nailed it awesome work my friend!
Cool, thanks! If you ever need a Douglas Fir reference...I'm your guy!
@@RickLawlerPropaganda I will definitely keep that in mind I normally a 125th scale automotive builder but I am currently working on a 164 scale (Hot Wheels) mud trail and camping diorama and it is in desperate need of some foliage some shrubbery it's just mud and kind of boring
Wow and thank you for your video and tutorial on this video and for palms!
Glad you liked it! Talk with you soon.
Very exciting with the palm trees 👍
Thank you, Detlev.
excellente technique
Thank you.
Those palm trees, awesome. Like the idea to keep the dio small and together.
Thanks 👍
Great video Sir!! Love the low opening like a spider hole. I also think the palm fronds came out great, I'd like to try that method. I love Sculpy! I tried a few others until an old timer in our club suggested it, and ive never gone back. The cost is low, and the fibers in it make it great for sculpting clothes or cloth!!. Can't wait to see the rest!!
You are very welcome! It's funny, how we get stuck in our ways and then all of the sudden we find a "new" something or another! I really appreciate your dropping by and keep up your very good work.
These palm trees looks awesome!
Thank you. Easy too!
Hi Rick good progress I cant wait till you finish that pretty little gem .Looking forward for the next part !!
Working on it as quickly as I can...!!! Thanks for stopping by.
Well done Rick . Don't see many palm log bunkers in Pacific dioramas . There sure are lots of pics of them though . The trees look really good and the feathers are genius.
Thanks, Thomas.
@@RickLawlerPropaganda you're welcome
Nice done. Looks very good, especially these palm trees. I must remember these palm trees tutorial, I hope to use that in future. All the best for You! ;)
So nice of you! Nice to hear from you again, and thank you.
As always, great video and narration. Brilliant palm trees! Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Good progress on that diorama, Rick, the new putty seems to be quite useful for filler work, the palm trees are really great!!!!
Thanks 👍 Yes, the putty works quite well.
palm logs - why am I thinking of carrots...lol
The password is "orange". LOL.
Looks great so far. I hope you put some Japanese weapons and helmets around the opening. Love the ideas with the palm trees.
Hey Will. You are not the first to make that suggestion. They are a little hard to find, but I do have a few things on the way. Thanks.
Really great! Amazing work as always
Thanks a lot!
I like the palm fronds from feathers that’s pretty good idea! Why didn’t you just use A&B putty for all the palm tree logs? And here in Florida we have lots of palm trees so you did a really good job👍🏻 I do like the idea of the air dry scalpy that would be really good for diorama groundwork and study wasting ANB putty I may have to try that one day.
I had thought of the A/B (Apoxie or Magic Sculpt) and would have probably gone with that for the trees, but just wanted to try the Sculpy to see what can be done with it. Like I said, it really doesn't have any structure in of itself (neither would A/B), and it's easy to work with. As for the base....it's a winner.
@@RickLawlerPropaganda looks perfect for ground work probably cheaper than magic sculpt.
What size would you recommend for 1/16th scale Palm Trees? That is to say, the width or diameter and/or height. Awesome work, very inspirational. Thank you.
It's just simple math. First you need to know the size of a palm tree. Once you figure that, then scale it. For instance, if the tree is 20' tall = 240", then divide by 16 (your scale) =15". 240/16=15.
Nice Job. Thx
Thank you too
I really need to just finish a base so I can escalate to this kind of stuff...
Yep, sometimes it just takes pressing forward. Thanks for stopping by and I will look forward to seeing your COMPLETED base soon!!!
