The HaydenShapes Hypto Krypto Twin surfboard in PU construction. The Hypto Krypto Twin is a versatile and forgiving performance twinny based on the hugely successful template of the Hypto Krypto. The board is designed to be user-friendly and is a great first time twinny for anybody looking to experiment with a fish style board.
The Hypto Krypto Twin differs from the original Hypto Krypto outline in that it's slightly narrower in the nose and wider in the tail to create a longer rail line. This longer and flatter rail line is great for twin fin surfing. This template makes for smooth rail to rail surfing, the board gets on the rail more easily and feels more controlled. The Hypto Krypto Twin rockerline also makes the board release fairly easily which translates into a snappy and responsive surf. The fun factor here is high and you still get a board that sits in the pocket of the wave with ease. This twin will work in anything from weakish waist high waves right through to punchier head high plus waves.
The board fetaures a rolled vee running through a single then double concave with vee through the tail. This set up together with the tempered rocker give it the speed you associate with a twinny.
The HaydenShapes Hypto Krypto Twin is a great mix of tradition and modern performance, you cannot help but enjoy surfing this board.
Hayden explains how the Hypto Krypto came into being: "I was shaping a couple of twin-fins and they had those traditional wide swallowtail designs and I found they went too straight. They didn't want to fit into the pocket. So I grabbed that same design and put my semi-gun rounded pintail into it, blended the curves and it worked!" Hayden has cracked that pocket issue with this new Twin version of the HK.
