My late husband worked with an Amish man for a bit & we were invited to fish his families pond. Let me tell you we caught a stringer and they invited us back for a fish fry on the 4th of July. That was, and still is to this day, the best fish fry I've ever attended. The food was absolutely amazing. They were extremely accommodating and told us we were now family & welcomed us back anytime.

I am originally from San Diego, California and moved here to Wisconsin 9 years ago and I live in an area that has a big Mennonite community. These are some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. They are just so amazing because they are there for one another when there is a need. They have helped My family when we had financial difficulties. I’ve had the honor of attending a wedding and a couple funerals. They help when there is a disaster such as the fires that occurred out in California. The Paradise fire. They Went out there and helped that community rebuild and they donate clothing etc. to other Countries etc. I feel very blessed to be living here and interacting with these people. Thank you for having this channel. God Bless You.
Also, the food is Amazing! The grocery stores they have has the freshest food such as meat, cheese etc. I can go on forever on the positive things I love about living here but anyway I would never even Consider moving back to California.
Having grown up Hasidic and having seen your series on the Hasidic community and your account was so genuine and honest, I know that this series will be an honest and unadulterated view into the Amish community!
@@monicack523 he is not trying to cover the religion as much as the community and way of life. Which he does very well but still if you don't live it you will not understand. There is a difference between just believing something and actually living your life and acting with the principles of Faith gives you a much bigger purpose and feeling of connection that will make ppl happier than freedom to do what you want even though it might not be good for you as we see in a lot of society problems today
@Popeye That irony when you actualy sound like fascist... but as for you as westerner you are excused ofcourse and it doesnt surpirise when you use/overuse words like fascist without knowing their meaning.
@@monicack523 Peter doesn't make these videos to convert people to Amish or Hasidic Judaism, you know? He's doing this to show us all communities which a lot of us don't get the chance to see especially if we don't live in America, and with these videos he's trying to show us the reality of those people and how their communities look like, and trying to get an opinion from the inside. I am pretty sure most of his viewers are intelligent enough to know that these communities are not perfect but we can still learn a lot from them and start to appreciate the things that we no longer pay attention to. I live in a Jewish community although I'm not Jewish, but I appreciate a lot of things at these people and I have learned a lot from seeing them every day. There's things to learn from everywhere, you just need to have an open mind and be less judging, nobody is telling you to join their community.
At the end my eyes watering up and thought there's still hope for us in the 🇺🇸!!! All of us as Americans need to take note on how to have a beautiful community.
Yep me to as it does give you hope, hope all is ok for you, I keep trying in my community but seeing no hope, I got somewhere before Covid, but way to separated now, I can’t see it getting better in my community it’s turning more segregated more ghetto like, so I’m looking to relocate.
I have always been fascinated by the Amish, their culture, values, work ethic, and so on. You have done a brilliant job in revealing their heart, and the core of their message. Thank you so much too, for giving them a voice and not editing or skewing their core messages and beliefs. I envy your work!,
This is what a really healthy community looks like. I hope I can find something like this someday. Family and community are important, it's not good to be hyper-individual, because you'll end up in most cases feeling hyper-alone and depressed.
This warmed my heart. When I was young I was aware of the Amish and I respected them. I knew they were strong in their faith and known to be hard workers. What I didn't realize was how most are so open and good hearted. I know they utilize modern conveniences a bit more then days of old, but this still goes to show how the materialistic desires from the rest of us rarely lead to a similar level of happiness and content. Well done.
Peter does an amazing job in overturning stereotypes; he did it with the Saudis, Hadisic Jews, Pakistanis and now the Amish. Thank you for showing us the truth and a different perspective to the world!
As a 5th gen native Floridian who loves country music and bluegrass, I can definitely say the yodeling day was my favorite 😍 you can also tell it has a strong Christian influence to the music.
These people are so nice it brings a tear to my eyes. I worked with Amish for about 6-8 months in Topeka, IN and I have nothing but massive respect and reverence for the Amish community. They are wonderful, hard working, and very fun people. Sure, they have their problems and drama, but that's because they're human just like everyone else! Also, I'd argue that the Amish were the wisest people in this country by deciding to stay away from technology. Technology will be the end of us, and we are seeing a taste of that right now.

Not sure how possible or inviting this would be, but I’d love to see you cover communities in the Appalachians, there’s some real interesting folk out there with a way of life not many know
I live in the most northern part of Appalachia and right next to Holmes County (where a lot of these Amish folks live) and the Amish are just like everyone else...mostly nice, if you get to know them.
I'm from Venice and we used to go up to Yoder's occasionally. Rode the motorcycles up there. I love it and love their peanut butter pie... to die for. Great bunch of folks. Nice ending Peter... video excellent, sound great and editing superb. Showing clips of happy people with the song playing was so artistic. Brilliant.
What’s really interesting is that the Hasidic community that you previously covered, visits Lancaster PA in droves a couple of times a year (during holidays) etc. The parallels between these two communities is pretty remarkable.
Yess!! I say that all the time lol, im jewish myself and even though the amish and hasidim have some stark differences they are so so similar its kinda crazy
These vids have been great to watch, thank you. It reminds me that America is more then what the world sees and hears through main stream media. Be safe out there.
Peter’s videos are so refreshing. America is truly a country of great people, great diversity and tremendous opportunity. I’ve seen the best in humanity from Americans of all backgrounds. Keep up these socially important videos Peter, thank you.
I live in West Tennessee on the boarder of Tennessee & Kentucky. We love our Amish friends ❣️ I’ve often wished we lived in there community . It’s a “real” community . They take care of one another. Look out for one another. The way it should be everywhere. They put God first and that’s why there’s no stress. I love being there and watching their daily lives . It’s humbling and a beautiful way to live .
I wish I knew about the Amish when I was a child. I had a terrible home life, which I won't go into here. I knew I wanted to run away but I didn't know where to go.
Your videos of the Amish have been really eye opening! They are great people that just live differently than the world. They seem very hospitable to outsiders. The food looked great!
I like that compilation of video clips with the yodeling near the end. You know, compiling and disseminating good vibe material like this not only preserves, but perpetuates that positivity. A very good thing you did here, Peter.
Yeah that impressed me too. I am Australian and in our culture one of the most sacred common-sense rules is to respect the line to everything. Everyone follows that rule no matter where they are. What the Amish did for Peter right there was special in my view. Let alone the fact that Peter is not Amish either. Man ! That tells you everything you need to know about Pinecraft’s Amish/Mennonite people.
Couldn't you tell it wasn't the people waiting in line who let him skip but that he was called in by the restaurant workers? Some of those waiting actually looked a bit upset to me. This is publicity for them, of course they let him skip.
I grew up in a very protestant environment in the North of the Netherlands (where some of the Calvinist/Lutherian Amish roots are from) and I recognise so much in this. My most religious family members would live very frugal, sensible lives but their main devotion was absolutely to the community and the family.
@Paride Scordo No they dont. And they wouldnt be able to. In the Netherlands people dont have much tolerance for conservative religion, or any religion really. You cant be too different here. Much more freedom, diversity and tolerance in the US.
@Paride Scordo The Christians and Jews got it easy. You should see how they treat Muslims in places like the Netherlands and France. And they call themselves tolerant🤣🤣
I watched 2 episodes straight. Thank you for bringing this way of life to us. I think that the whole world has to go back to our roots. Those people are smiling all the time and are so welcomed to strangers. Thank you sooooo much for this Peter. Wished you had a 3rd episode to share with us. 👏👏👏👏👏
Amazingly refreshing to see maskless people enjoying life to the fullest. Great music, chill vibe, wholesome goodness, such a nice break from the ubermask situation here in Spain where people are getting fined left and right for not having a mask on between sips of their beverages at the open air patios in front of restaurants as the interior spaces are still as yet closed to dining, at least here in the region of Galicia. Kudos for the vid, if you're ever driving west on I-80, stop 30 miles south of Iowa City to Kalona, Iowa's main Amish and Mennonite community hub. Good food, good peeps.
Your always start out with a smith and openness, asking for their openness. You are such a fine example to show the best parts of every situation. We have traveled to all 50 states and 62 countries and have found a smile and a gesture/question is the best way to start a conversation. We have had wonderful experiences all over the world. You are SO good at what you do! Keep going and bring the world together.
I love watching these. I recommend reaching out to the Russian Orthodox Old Believer community in Oregon. We’re both interesting and fairly inviting. The food rocks too :)
I must say. I am a man who has many gripes against religion, after years of bad memories, but I have the largest consequtive smile on my face right now that I have had in a long time. The Norwegian word is for this is "koselig". The Icelandic word is "Huggulegt"
Come to Iowa. Kalona, Iowa. Amish community. I really enjoyed this video. I live 15 min. from Kalona and every chance I get to go to Kalona, I go. I drive 15 min away to people that live a completely different lifestyle. On the way there I pass by horse and buggy’s. It’s so refreshing!!
What if we are just interested in their life and don't want to hear that? Can't people just live without being dictated to by some bronze age book. Live and let live, drop the book and be free.
I chuckled every time you said " key lime " instead of " lemon meringue ". I kept thinking he just REALLY want the key lime. I am enjoying your videos.
It’s so crazy that we come into contact with so many people on a daily basis that we never have actual communication with & everybody has there own life that we could learn from & that’s exactly what your channels about, love it!
I'm from The Netherlands and it's so funny to see all those people on bikes in sort of traditional Dutch costumes. It looks so strange, like the people remind me of old Dutch landscape paintings but then the landscape it self is like modern day tropical neighborhood lol. Would be a funny painting.
Peter’s gonna be growing a beard before we know it! I absolutely envy the simple life and really long for its return. We think technology makes our lifes simpler when in reality it only complicates things,
My favorite place on earth, is Lancaster County, Pa! I love to visit with my Amish friends there and just spend time talking and relaxing. When I am there, in Amish County, I am at peace. I feel the most relaxed AND at peace, when I am there. It's my 'Happy Place.' DO go there and see for yourself! GREAT videos!!! They have me itching to get back to Pa now!!! lol
Peter, thank you so much for these Amish & Mennonite videos. I've lived in central OH my whole life and been up through Holmes county many times on my way to Mohican State Park. We have some Mennonite in my local area, but no Amish. These videos are fascinating, and I just really appreciate your personality while teaching us about these communities.
Southwards from Chillicothe,Ohio up to the mountains and then down to the river crossing at Portsmouth? I saw a lot of the not rich Amish in this area. What I saw in Lexington,Kentucky was not so nice!
THAT WAS AWESOME!! 💟💟💟 I got to stay with Amish people in Pennsylvania when I was like 8 years old for a week. I appreciate that forever the fact that my parents gave me that opportunity. It was beautiful!! 🌿🌿🌿
I went to a Summer Camp run by the Mennonites and there were plenty of Amish there, too.. I really enjoyed myself, I’ll never forget those two weeks in Pennsylvania
Watching these folks is like a window into the past before tech took over everyone's lives....makes me lament for the days when phones hung on the wall and computers were only real in sci-fi movies....great content, as usual.
When you come to Lancaster, PA you have to go to Root's Country Market. You’ll definitely have an opportunity to speak with the Amish there. Great food too! It’s only open on Tuesdays. The Lancaster central market is good too.
I recently moved from Georgia to Ohio, and have driven through every county in Ohio to explore my new state. I was shocked at how many horses and buggies I saw. It was fascinating. This Pinecraft settlement reminds me a lot of the Hasidic Jews on vacation in South Florida as well. I guess everyone wants a break :P
Living near the Ohio Amish, I am used to it. As someone who has never experienced them, it was exciting to see your discovery of the people and the food in the restaurant. I have my favorite Amish restaurants here. And the pies are awesome!!!
Wow! Enjoyed this video! You’re a likeable guy, very welcoming yourself. No wonder they invite you into their homes. lol. Make sure to go and visit John and his twin PA. I believe it’ll be a treat.
I’m just blown away by this video ( and part 1 ) Peter . The Amish people appear to have a very peaceful and , I hope , contented life . Thank you for taking the time to go and discover what , I assume , most of us were unaware of . Best regards from England.
Wherever you go you always say lots of open people, I must say they way you interact with people makes it very difficult to not be open :) GREAT job Peter. Major respect

Dutch is called dutch in english because the dutch counties were the places of the holy roman empire of german nations to trade with England.
Back then there was no separate netherlandish identity, so they called themselves deutsch, i.e. dutch when rendered in english.
Watching this while I live in California Bay Area makes my heart hurt, people are so cold and turned off here, no eye contact, no welcoming smiles here. Sad

Hasidic Jews seem like really awesome and fun people. They definitely appreciate America and her freedoms.
As EVERY extreme religion. Amish, Hasidic, etc....Peter just covered the surface. There is a lot more to see underneath it all.
There's things to learn from everywhere, you just need to have an open mind and be less judging, nobody is telling you to join their community.
what a difference between the mainstream media reporting on things and this. Such a blessing. Thank you, Peter!
Peter- you’re so good at this! Just striking up conversation with anyone in a respectful and friendly way. Well done!
At the end my eyes watering up and thought there's still hope for us in the 🇺🇸!!! All of us as Americans need to take note on how to have a beautiful community.
How true !
No hope for the "US" as it stands. The Amish though? They will survive and thrive.
The rest of us are circling the drain.

I have always been fascinated by the Amish, their culture, values, work ethic, and so on. You have done a brilliant job in revealing their heart, and the core of their message. Thank you so much too, for giving them a voice and not editing or skewing their core messages and beliefs. I envy your work!,
Anyone else smiling? Overwhelmed by the friendliness of these people. It's heartwarming, really. Pls do more Amish video's!
Why is technology bad? Facebook, Google, Apple, Twitter, CNN, etc.?
@@cheaserceaser Because it reduces in person human interaction and is a massive platform for propaganda

What’s really interesting is that the Hasidic community that you previously covered, visits Lancaster PA in droves a couple of times a year (during holidays) etc. The parallels between these two communities is pretty remarkable.
Being a Lancaster native, im curious as to what makes the Lancaster Amish so "different"

It's one thing to be friendly, and another to be friendly when you're hungry. They let him skip the whole line. Wow.
