I got the game on my switch and played it for a decently large amount of hours and although it took some getting used to and some minor bugs and glitches have come, but overall I've genuinely really enjoyed the game. The stats and customization are a bit more complex than what you assume, the story is practically nonexistent and absolutely not even remotely connected to tf one, its just based on the average evergreen stuff. Most of the game is playing the main game mode to get different artifacts that modify your stats and abilities, you get a new one after each set of races. The artifacts system is extremely similar to the chips in splatoon 3 side order, idk how else to explain them. All while leveling up your character and try to reach certain requirements to unlock more characters. So the whole point is to get all the characters and collect artifacts, especially the relics of the 13 Primes. There’s also 2 extra skins for each character, most of the skins are Shattered Glass colors from my experience so far. I understand the complaints about the price compared to quality, but maybe it's my bias for this game concept and my lack of interest in online multi-player that makes it still seem worth it to me
I agree. The concept is great, and certainly unique. My biggest gripe is lack of 'team' stuff. It's a massive free for all lmao It's also the only transformers game that's local coop that I've played.
@@Jayinjapanese I'm aware that saying it's not very high quality is an understatement, I also won't deny the fact that I have enjoyed it nonetheless. Now I remember why I’m glad that I am different from every other Transformers fan here. Unlike everyone else, I’ve been waiting for a Transformers racing game, and I’m not worried about the War For Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games, or Transformers Devastation. Online play? Don’t make me laugh. After being smoked for so long by online players who don’t show mercy to beginners, I’m glad this game doesn’t have it. I’d rather play solo.
With insane dedication someone out there could probably make a unironically amazing transformers game with just the Doom engine. No joke. There's a mod for the 90s doom game that allows fully 3d third person with slasher and gunplay mechanics. And then there's a metroid mod that allows you to transform so you could 100 percent make that and probably make a transformers game that would have hasbro sweating
Launch day isn't a huge part of Outright Games's strategy afaik. They've literally said that they are aiming for kids getting hand-me-down consoles in the coming years. Because this game isn't tied to any specific cartoon, a kid can see it on shelves at any time and pick it up impulsively. Plus this will likely sell way better on consoles with retail presence than on PCs that mostly target a hardcore audience.
I think it was “Rise of the Beasts” that did it. Displaying the disconnect between the executives and the audience, they can’t seem to understand that when you have a universe that centers around intelligent biomechanical shape shifting alien robots, fans of the series don’t need human characters to “ground” the narrative when those robots are supposed to be the “human” heart and soul of the story. In each Transformers movie, the Cybertronians are treated more like giant action figures that some unseen hand of a child is smashing together in a play fight. (Just look at how pathetically Nightbird was treated for her return in a mainstream entry after 30 years.) So when people inevitably lost interest due to the growing narrative stupidity, Hasbro simply thought that people have grown tired of everything Transformers. I’m not going to lie that Transformers One properly kindled my interest in the franchise for the first time since it focuses on well-written storytelling over (real life) dog-humping jokes or gratuitous city destruction alongside fan-favorites getting mercilessly shot in the face or blown to bits just so the human characters get more screen time or because it’s edgy. But at this point, I don’t know if the wants of the fans are going to matter because it’s been written off as dumb kids’ entertainment or semi-mature slop your emo younger brother likes because a sentient being gets his spine ripped out, but the kid is allowed to watch it because it’s only a robot getting graphically slaughtered by the “hero.” So that’s it. They’ve given up because they dug their own grave because of how out-of-touch they always were.
I think when it comes to them introducing human characters I think prime did it best since it made the autobots the main focus while giving some focus to the human trio

If I wasn't a hardcore Transformers fan, I wouldn't have touched it. On a sidenote, I play Mario Kart solo, and hate any, and all, multiplayer games. I'd much rather play alone/with the computer AI, but that's just me though.
Need to to make another wfc game , ps2 armada sequel, they could do tf cybertron but enogh of the kiddie games
Either bring back the Cybertron games or finish reactivate. I like racing games, but I am not spending 40 dollars on a crappy Mario Kart clone.
To be honest the did game did just come out of no where and I was to busy playing sparking zero all day and every so the time ill play tis game would probly be about 50 years if I get boaard with sparking zero
is outright games like today's vicarious visions? vicarious visions released many shovelware on gba and nds back then
is this not a sighn we want the cybertron games and d
evasation back?
I just found out about it, I'm about to buy it and this what i find
Its funny how Hasbro wants to get into games over toys, but these games keep crashing and burning.
Just stick to toys and bring back the activision games
I don’t think fans and gamers want a transformers racing game, this is nothing more than a mini game that should be on a aaa transformers game, while being sold as a stand alone game
It did what Concord did but faster😭
