How to Ask God for a Promise In Your Season of Waiting & Believing | Sadie Rob Huff & Mia Fieldes

  • Mia Fieldes is living her miracle right now - she's about to give birth to her baby girl after being told by multiple specialists that pregnancy wasn't likely, but she'd be the first one to tell you that trusting in a promise from God doesn't guarantee an easy path. Sadie and Mia quickly get deep talking about navigating seasons of waiting and why the holding pattern might feel like a huge delay, but it's ultimately going to get you to your destination quicker! Mia encourages us to be sure our filter and outlook on our life isn't disappointment - or you won't be able to see all that God IS giving you, regardless of the season of your life. Mia challenges us all to actively be asking God for a promise, especially if you're in a time of waiting on Him. Sadie remembers one particular dance on "Dancing with the Stars" where a split-second decision surprised her and her dance partner with the result, but was a great lesson too! Plus, why we need to treat God like a friend - choose to spend time with Him and expect Him to show up!

    It’s so true. You can’t always tell or explain to others what God has told you to do. I remember back in 2019 I was supposed to do an internship in China and I just didn’t feel peace about going at all. I was losing sleep and I truly felt like that is not wear God wanted me. I ended up canceling the trip, and my program directors and other missionaries were telling me that I was not being obedient to God and so forth. THEN! A couple weeks after I cancelled the trip the entire city in China I was supposed to be going to shut down because of Covid (end of Dec 2019). The missionary’s ended up having to go home. God truly works it all out ❤

      I really do love it when things like you commented on happen, because I’ve noticed it often when I’m getting back on the path that is best for me, and “right” in the sense of it being in my natural passion and gifts.. I like to call it Divine synchronicity! 🤪🥰🤓❤

    I was sick for fifteen years, ages 12-27. I didn’t get a diagnosis until I was 24. It was like I had this unnamed illness working against me just enough to wreck all of my dreams and plans but not enough for people to recognize just how much I was really struggling. Finally my symptoms became profound. I woke up with the flu on Christmas morning and never got better after that. My HR and BP were all out of whack to the point that I basically existed on the verge of passing out. Before the illness was over, I was calling it a blessing because of how close I had grown with God through it all and how I had learned to rely on Him. I joke that the surest way to get a miracle from God is to tell Him
    that you don’t want one. Because surviving the storm is one thing but rebuilding on the other side is a whole other challenge. Almost exactly three years after my illness had become debilitating, a woman prayed and I was healed. The miracle was undeniable. My pastor said after seeing the change that I had been deathly ill and no one had even realized. The problem was, I grew up in a tradition that didn’t believe in miracles like that happening anymore. In an instant, my health was restored and everything I had ever believed about God changed. The five years since the miracle have been so much harder than the fifteen years I was sick. But they’ve also been incredible in ways that words could never express. When you are sick for that long and you’ve lost everything else all you are left with are God’s promises. Thank you for the reminder that it’s enough.💗

    In my 20s the Lord told me He designed me for so much more than how I was living at the time. Now in my 50s I teach children Bible class and love it. In my 20’s I said to the Lord I was completely sold out to him no matter what that looked like. I trust Jesus 100 percent. He is always good and wants the best for us!🙏❤️🙌😘✨Jeremiah 29:11. Thank you for this inspiring podcast🙏❤️

    This podcast is truly speaking to my situation perfectly! For the last few years I’ve felt very strongly that God has chosen me for a very specific and special purpose and based on my talents and passions I think I know what it is! However I have felt stuck on pursuing this dream the Lord has placed on my heart. It’s not something that’s easy to do and while I’m trying to keep taking little steps forward, I sometimes feel like I’m not making any progress. This podcast really spoke to my heart and revived my conviction of God’s calling on my life! Thank you so much!

    This reached me in so many ways today. I can't even describe the season I am going through. I believe God has spoken to me with the same message on a few occasions in the past six months, but not a "promise". I'm now going to ask him in faith for the promise. And come on y'all - we got all the details building up to Mia's prayers for a husband, but not how he eventually was brought into her life? Not fair! You have to come back and finish that after maternity leave. 😉

    We moved to a different country over half a year ago and it has been a hard waiting season to get started. This is just what I needed now. It has been a huge struggle for me especially since while preparing to move I felt God speak to me and I haven’t felt that much at all since moving. It has been a real test for my husband and me in our walks with God. We are in that place that feels a bit foolish.

    The gospel tells us to live as unprofitable servant before God but some think God is a candy machine he ain't by the way but that is just our nature to want want want. And God has given all he is going to give I believe his SON and that just doesn't seem enough these days. Some of us need a little fire put on us to burn off this world and if you are a true believer that fire will surely come. One foot in the world and one foot in the gospel ain't gonna cut it with jesus. He calls that lukewarm and spews that out away from him..

    Partnering with God, doesn’t that make us seem like we are equal with Him? How do I partner with the God of the universe, He is sovereign and I shall submit to Him through the truth of His word, not based in feelings alone. I do believe we are called to trust in His promises, but His promises are laid out so clearly in His word! Success in the Christian life doesn’t reflect “success” of the world.
    In Hebrews 11, we see so many faithful men and women of the Bible who were running the race in faith and never saw the promises of God! It talks about Noah and Abraham and Sarah, their walk of faith, “These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.” Hebrews 11:13 ESV!
    Christ alone is your provision, not worldly success or even a husband.

    • @avap1478
      @avap1478 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good point, God is sovereign! I do think that she meant she didn’t desire to just choose anyone as a husband, so she prayed for further guidance and in that, she sought the Lord and it seems their relationship grew!
