    Hi lovely's just a note this was a experiment to see if it worked and it did in the end. And now I've learnt more I will be doing this again as the flavours were great. I do have a instant pot/ slow cooker. And have a few videos in the making using them x

    good video, but just a small tip, if you make a lot of stews or one pot meals that need a long cooking time, i can seriously recommend a slow cooker. not sure about pricing but definitely cheaper than a cooker/oven and very versatile too. mind, i'm glad i got my ninja now too and thanks to your videos and a couple of others i'm eating more, better and cheaper :)

    Looks good, but as you suggested at the maybe smaller vegetable and microwave or boil for 5 minutes before adding them just to give them a start, but definitely going to give it a go with a few dumplings in it for the last 30 minutes, thanks for uploading this, I like the way you show the mistakes it’s the only way we learn.

    Hi Lindz. this is good timing as I spent a small fortune today on mince, diced beef and lamb etc for the freezer.... Even a tiny beef joint for one I mean yikes I nearly dropped through the floor at the prices..... Shelves don't seem as stocked as they once were and choices are limited now.... Well autumn is coming especially Friday when it's going to be gales and rain I really can't wait so I'm thinking batch cooking and this looks very useful information so I'll enjoy your vlog as usual and take from it what I can..... Thankyou so much Lindz ❤❤❤ Carole xxx update.... Yes I think that's too much hassle there are some things that ninja ain't good for cakes for me are best in oven whatever cake your doing I've had too many disasters esp with the ninja.... Mmmmmmm I actually think I'll stick to my good old slow cooker lindz... I felt your pain as one will not be beaten but sometimes it just won't work.... Its been an enjoyable watch tho 😂❤❤❤😊

    • @LindzandLife
      @LindzandLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Carole ❤ The price of meat has gone shocking. So I feel your pain lovely. I've started doing a few veggie meals a week to try and limit the spending. I must say I did enjoy making this video its good to think outside the box ( but maybe the oven instead 😂) I make cakes atleast once a week now in the ninja but I had so many fails to start with so I understand. Hope you have a lovely day take care x

  • @Oliias

    Hi Lindz. I really enjoyed that as I love slow cooked food. Having watched your efforts I reckon it may be a bit easier to prep exactly as you did then just shove it all in a slow-cooker or Ninja/Instant Pot for about 3 hours on a low setting. Problem there would be the pots & veg would be very soft & I don't like that. I'm not totally sure about the silicon thingy & the tin foil was just as effective but I'll certainly try the recipe one way or another. Thanks.

    • @LindzandLife
      @LindzandLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mark 👋 It's definitely easier in the oven or slow cooker for sure. I just wanted to see if it would work and learnt a lot from trying 💜 I only use salad/baby potatoes in slow cooked dishes so I don't end up with mush 🤣 Thanks for watching Mark hope you have a lovely day x

    • @Oliias

      @@LindzandLifeThanks, Lindz. I hadn't realised that different types of potato's reacted to being slow cooked in varying ways. That's something to remember going forward. The beauty of your videos is seeing you cooking in the same way as us and dealing with problems that may arise. I honestly get more from your video's than any of the "perfect world" type cooks that get it all spot-on first time (allegedly). You mention in the video that you may not show this one to us but that's wrong as we learn as much from the entire process, warts and all, than just the results. Cheers.

    Hi Lindz, new subscriber here, my Ninja arrived last night I’ve just done bacon in it. Two things: I e seen comments on other recipe FB groups who are quite opposed to using the AF for stewing beef. Well you proved them wrong didn’t you and I’m sure once you e had a play around with sizes of veg and cooking times it will be straightforward. Second thing - would you not perhaps use the other basket to pre fry the veggies to give them a head start? Including the onions? What’s your reasoning for using the stove top? Thanks in advance for when you find this and have time to answer. Loving your style!

    • @LindzandLife
      @LindzandLife  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Lynne 👋 It's a lot easier to use the hob for the onions and meat to begin with, but theres no reason why you couldn't start them in the draw. I wouldnt start the veg of though as it might dry out and go a little crisp so ill stick with either a short blast in the microwave or a quick boil. The way I see it is that an air fryer is technically a mini fan oven, and I do like to push it to see what it can actually do 😊x

    Hi, Love your video's. Personally I think you that the 1st part of the cook at 140 was done at too lower temp. I would of thought that 150 - 160 off the bat would of cooked it all quicker and without having to cut up the vegies any smaller.
    Also, is it possible that the silicone lid actually just got blowen up with the fan and having the weights on may have stopped it happening.?

      I looked at the 15-1 but honestly didn’t see the merit in getting it.

    Your glass dish and lid left virtually no room for the hot air to circulate. Try using a smaller dish, it will heat up much quicker.
    Better still use a Ninja multi on pressure cooker setting.- 20 or 30 mins should do it.
    Great videos, though, exploring the new frontiers of cooking.

    That was too much hassle and you can only do small quantities' were as with a slow cooker or a slow cooker/pressure cooker model you can do larger batches and cut the cost down and freeze for later meals, that's what I do being a lone pensioner. I have a Ninja 15 in one, a Chefree 2 drawer, an electric slow/pressure cooker and an air fryer oven, so I can tackle anything nearly and they all cater for different uses. The cost does not worry me though, a meal needs cooking.

    • @LindzandLife
      @LindzandLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Graham I totally agree that slow cookers/pressure cookers are a lot easier and especially when making a lot I love mine and do a lot of batch type cooking. I learnt a lot from trying it this way and now know what I can change. I'm constantly experimenting with different foods and cooking techniques. I must say I looked up your chefree and it looks good x
