Whether it portrays a king e.g. Rama 5 or LP Tim, I think “modernity” has removed our REAL “connection” to source/spirit, and to worship correctly.

I dont even know why humans worship things. Appreciate them is more my way. But to worship something is a Human Idea that is nowhere near as old as this planet, never mind the Universe. Worshiping things, seems to have no effect, for we create our own causes, and suffer or enjoy the effects of those causes. That is what Free Will is about. Mind you, i do not believe free will exists either. Because something always influences ou decisions to act this or that way. I believe in the techniques of insight aquisition taught by Sakyamuni Gotama and by Hermes Trismegistus, and others, and believe that their wise teachings were meant for us to apply self introspection and effort with our self, not to worship them instead. The only thing that brings 'Hapyness' (name of the podcast i just uploaded now ;P ), Is not to be found in worship, rather, self understanding, acceptance, and appreciation of one's own existence, and the existence of all that around us. I do not worship amulets or images. I use them to remind me of my practices, or, to emit certain 'magical' emissions/forces, or, to appreciate for the history and patipata (purity of practice and life trajectory) of the Monks who made them, and appreciate the niche topic of amulets, in all its depth, and document it in English. But i do not worship amulets, Devas, or Gods or Demi Gods. I do perhaps give revrence to Nature, and that which was the cause of the arising of conscious entities in this and other worlds. I thank the fact that consciousness exists in a vast universe, with all its worlds sp far away from each other, and thank the fact that energy can never be anihillated, only transformed, because consciousness is also energy. We are hence, if perhaps not as individuals, but as transmigratory evolving forms of sentience, Immortal. Except we won't be Human every time. Now will we always inhabit a mobile vehicle such as the bodies we have. That which knows and perceives, (us), is a long distance time traveler, and its journey will pass through many forms of existence. We are the divided alien!!! th-cam.com/video/XW0BwDADT9U/w-d-xo.html

But yes, Modernity has removed connection with our true nature, spiritual and physical, and our ability to see properly.. but worshiping is one of the things that those who like to control the masses have conditioned humanity with. However, the senses also deceive, which is why we should beware of how our perception can be influenced

Hey Ajarn Spencer I see what you mean that people don’t really care much about the monk/who made the amulet, nor it’s historical value, (around @3:55 to 4:05) but they expect/want “instant gratification/magick”, which is usually only a mere part of it and amulet making/tradition. ✨🪬✨👌🏻
However many thanks for sharing these rare gems ✨💎✨with us, and taking the effort and time to explain a little about them X 😎👌🏻🙌🏻👍🏻🥰💖❤️

I suppose the MOnks who made/make them know well that most people are after their needs, and more there for their own needs, than to pay respects to the monk. But Usually those people who visit the temples (those lucky enough to be able to cpme here to do so), will be the type of amulet user who DO consider the monk the primary source of their blessings, and the amulet, as the connection. There are still people who do regard amulets as a Gurunussati remembrance and reminder of the Kroo (teacher), and use them that way. This i consider a proper way to use amulets.

Yes most people seek amulets for their own results, which is Thelemic will magic (Dark Arts), and has a final cost, like borrowing money does. I collect amulets for posterity and conservation, study and documentation, and to wear to remind me to be mindful. I do not beseech lottery or riches, because i believe the saying 'Yaa Khor Arai Jag Sing Saksit, Nork Jaag Seen Samati Panyaa' (do not ask for anything from the Sacred, except for Sila, Samadhi and Panya / Virtue, Right Concentration, and Illuminated Wisdom)
