Aot is one of those rare anime (or movie/series in general) where strong female characters are really naturally incorporated. There’s no forced “STRONG FEMALE CHARACTERS” agenda, but the empowerment is there and the females are so organically similar in level and status as the men. This is how all entertainment should go about female empowerment.

They are plot device . The rest of the girls ? They are useless as hell . Yeah she helps deku to enter ua and save him from shigaraki at the mall...but what else tho ? Even her fight with toga felt really Forced . Ochaco at that time is still new to martial arts and she can pin a mass murderer like toga with ease ? I know she trained with gun head and all but..her first few acomplishments should not be : one shoting a mass murderer who had 2 years of experience And the reason people care about her is because she gets more Screentime than the other my hero girls and she has the crush of the main characther , Outside from toga and deku...well she doesn't have that much to offer . After Ochaco started to have feelings for deku , she stopped talking about her Money problems to the viewers . Like..wtf happened ? Is her family living conditions is getting better or worse ? Do you really have to be a Hero to Earn Money ? No , there are other Jobs to do rather being a hero . For example : doctor , chef , teacher and many other . If i'm ochaco i would rather pick the safer Jobs that can give a good pay . Momo , is only usefull when she stuck a tracking device to locate the league of villains to save bakugo . Thats it Momo have few moments of insecurities..and thats it . ( im not saying that momo doesn't have the rights to be insecure or something . Thats basicly it about her ) And for the other girls..they are useless to the plot . The point is my hero girls sucks to me . Jujutsu kaisen ( Maki zenin , nobara kugisaki ) , Demon slayer ( Lady Tamayo ) are way more better Sorry this is so long lmao 😅

Aot is probably one of the only anime out there where the women are equally as strong as the men and aren't sexualised. Fairy tail for example, while it does have strong female characters, that fact is heavily overshadowed by the fanservice they're used for, like Mirajane or Lucy.
