you know it’s snowmobile time when your videos show back up thanks for inspiring me to start snowmobileing when I was a kid started at 12 I’m 22 now thank you sir
We’ve had the worst winter in 40 years I live in international Falls. It’s two minutes from the Canadian border Fort Francis Ontario absolutely no snow and again it’s February 50° it usually -55 this time of year here.
@@rltkktlr we’re almost in the spring and it was almost 50 up here today usually -40 this time of year. Hopefully this isn’t giving us a taste of what’s to come.
I've had my Princess Auto lift for years. The rubber is a problem but i had some windshield washer hose that has held up quite well. The biggest complaint is the amount of lift you get. It's not high enough to lift my wife's sled with the R-Motion suspension. I use a couple of 6x6's underneath the stand to get the track off the ground. Overall it has been a great stand for many years.
Hi. I did noticed that it didnt have a ton of lift. I think I’ll drill another hole further down the top bar and see if that buys me a bit more, but i can spin the track.
Thanks for the video and glad to see you back! I have had the same Princess Auto stand for 4 years now and it lifts and holds our 600+ lb Yamaha Ventures well. Only bad part, not surprisingly, is the rubber is wearing off the hook. Not a big deal to correct. Maybe some sort of liquid rubber will do one day? Thanks again and stay well!
David, I also use my track stand for summer storage. There is no shield but works very well. Extreme Max 5001.5013 Lever Lift Stand thanks for the video.
Great review David. My brother and nephew made similar stands welding some old Unistrut together. And we made stands nailing 2x4's together back in our early days of sledding...pretty crude but they worked. Cheers..
Good video, David. I have a track stand like your second one from Princess Auto. It is stable, but sometimes I find it doesn't lift my sled up high enough, especially when the sled is on castors, so I end up propping it up by putting the legs on top of a couple 4x4's, to give it more height. I also appreciate the shield at the back for protection from flying debris or when I forget to remove my track castors and it goes flying out the back when I rev the sled. P.s. I hope you are getting some quality rides in this winter!
I’m a viewer in the U.S. NW Wisconsin has had no appreciable snow all winter. My sled is taking the year off😢 So I’m watching snowmobile videos just to torture myself. Always great content on your channel.
@@MyOldSled I was actually looking at both the wobbly one and your new one from Princess Auto! You have helped me decide! Only wish we had snow near my home or cottage!
You know a video you should do? Is how to remove a drive belt if the clutch tool hole is stripped on the secondary clutch :) I just think thats a handy thing to know how to do if someone needed to :) On both your old MXZ and your newer sled :)
Not a bad looking lift. I would buy a couple of them but they will not ship to most of the US. Only says shipping to North Dakota. Most of the lifts available here are 3 X’s the cost.
Have the princess one myself. The rubber strap holders are junk but pins can be modified easily. I bent the lift rods the same as you. You get out much this year? Thx

Thanks David! Appreciate the walk-back and honesty, and a detailed review on the new stand! Cheers!
Hey thanks. Much snow at the cabin this winter?
@@MyOldSled Geez nothing to speak of until this past week. Trails have been closed most of the winter. 7-8 degrees for the next day. Cheers David!

Same here in Northern Michigan. 😢
Yep Duluth area, just terrible.
@@rltkktlr isn’t that crazy though this has never happened is next year gonna be no snow at all
@@upnorthvlogs I’m hoping it’s going to be a great snow year!

Hi Richard. Yes thats got a nice wide stable base as well. I agree, leaving the sled jacked up and unloading the suspension is a good idea.
I have the same princess auto stand and I’ve never had an issue even while running the track. Had it about 3-4 yrs so far.
Hi TNM, yeah it seems like a decent little stand. Thanks for watching.

Yeah they’re so basic, im surprised they make one this bad or charge that much for it.

Thanks for the video. My 3 old sleds needed something for summer storage. Princess Auto has them. Bought 3 @ $30 each. Can't make them that cheap.

Hey John. Sorry :( I guess its a good year for maintenance. Thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated.
Great video as always David! And my sympathies for your puppy, hope you are doing OK
Hey Al, thanks.
Great review. Super helpful. I’ve been looking for a lift and this seems to fit my needs!
Glad you liked it.

Got it on sale for $30 from Princess Auto. Great deal
Love your videos always informative thank you so much hopefully Harbor Freight has one of those for the same price that would be great
Hi EB. Thanks. There are lots on Amazon. You may pay a bit more but the main thing is to make sure you get one with a wide base.

I normally put the back end up and turn the track while pulling the belt over
Great review. The lift i bought 2 yrs ago at Canadian Tire is such low quality i actually built my own. Wish I'd known about this one first 👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. Glad you liked it.
Nice video. Thanks. Might look for a new one like that. Unfortunately no snow this year hard to get motivated!
I know :( praying it improves next year.

Keep your eyes open for deals when the season ends. Thanks for watching.
Yeppers. I have that exact same tippy lift as you. It sure isn't too handy outside on uneven snow, Ice or ground..
Yeah, glad to have a new one.
Have the princess one myself. The rubber strap holders are junk but pins can be modified easily. I bent the lift rods the same as you. You get out much this year? Thx
A couple of times. Yeah I’m going to have a look for some hitch pins with the D clip. Having to bend the hook seemed like a stupid production problem.
David rocks....so does Princess Auto.
Thanks Ed.
Are you taking a break? I am guessing because its not winter. Just wondering. Hopefully you are doing good
Yes I usually only make videos in winter. I’m doing ok thanks for asking
Doesn't look like they still sell this model. :(
Products come and go, the advice is the same. Find one with a nice wide base
No US shipping 😩
Discontinued at Princess Auto now …dammit
