The LOP also talked about Periyar as some saviour of Constitution. Whereas Periyar himself was sentenced to 6months imprisonment for burning the Constitution. And he also lead the Constitution burning movement in Tamilnadu.
And one of the main motto of DMK party was a separate tamil nation ,when eventually the party leader Annadurai gave up the demand in 1962.
So yes,people and parties evolve.
