Walking home from work today in Mumbles to the sound of two ravens having a chat. They were in the cemetery. First time of heard them in years.

Thank you as always for such an interesting video. Good to hear the different calls and to be able to compare. I always think the Jackdaw is rather cheeky looking, has a lovely call too. I get a lot in my garden and they nested and had one young this year.
Thank you again for sharing your wonderful work.
    Have a great day 😊

Glad you enjoyed the video. It was good to hear you had Jackdaws nesting and raising a chick this year. The nearest Jackdaw nest to me is in the chimney of an old house several gardens away. I've seen them a few times flying back with food for their young and disappearing into the chimney to feed them!

Really good you can see the jackdaws and great to observe them, I’m sure the chimney makes a great nest too.
Have a lovely weekend and thank you again.
Can’t wait for your next video.

We have around 200 that roost in the trees behind our house, the noise they make when they all fly off is amazing

In case everyone should know, Corvus means "raven" in latin not "crow", which explains why the common raven (Corvus corax) is the type species of the Corvus genus, which is now restricted only to the ravens, whereas the jackdaws are now moved to the genus Coloeus, the rook now belongs to the monotypic genus Rucus, and all crows now belong to the genus Necrophagus, the carrion crow (Necrophagus corone) is designated as the type species of the genus Necrophagus, ravens (genus Corvus) and crows (genus Necrophagus) are similar in color but different in body shape.

Jesus! I came here becasue I am presenting Mad Max from 1979 and it happens that every time a gang member is about to appear or about to do something really bad a crow sound apprears on screen. I just found that the sound that appears in the movie is a Carrion Crow and believe me as soon as I listened to the sound, I felt chills down my spine...creepy. In fact one of the questions I ask after watching the film is did you notice the bird sound? What does it mean?

Woke up this morning with this strangest sound a bit like an old bed creaking loudly, been looking for all possible birds but can't find that sound, it was around 5am it had the same pattern of getting louder and louder as if it were flying closer.
If anyone knows of what could it be?
