I've watched the previous three videos and the four way with jester with Mike. Every time I watch it I learn something that I didn't know or wasn't sure about. This time I learned about the voluntary disengagement of the patrol. Very useful to have. Also I liked the clarification at the end of the crew enhancements. It's great to get a tutorial from the designer of the game because it eliminates any ambiguity when you're playing. I'm the guy on Facebook who had 75 VP's in one patrol. I was probably playing a little sloppy with the ASW in the attack map or maybe I was just really freaking lucky. Anyways keep up the good work and I really enjoy this game.

I do like the one card draw for possible incidents of the transits as it reduces time between patrols. It is very abstracted, to say the least but does address one of the aspects of the U Boat campaign well enough. I look forward to playing with you guys once I get the game system under my belt. Maybe I'll catch some of Ya'll on VASSAL. 😄 I'll watch the next video from 4 days ago soon.

I’m in the second war period of my long campaign and these play throughs are helping me find the few mistakes I’m still making. Thanks for doing these. Plus, they’re just fun to watch! I’m enjoying playing this game very much.

The convoy does not do a zig zag movement? Are there any plans for expansion 1939-1940 and 44-45?

Once the convoy is found this tactic doesn't work because that U-boat can see them. This is where the patrol starts.

Guess we cant gave everything😊. They still zig zagged, but most certainly it would be to hard for this system. Still best ever

@@nygrentony I agree with you Sir, but perhaps it might be a play ability decision by Mike the designer?

@@TonysBoardLife I disagree Tony because that was usually the first thing done one an attack occurred. I think there should be an automatic -1 added to all torpedo attacks except for at a range of 0 at the time of impact. Maybe it was a play ability factor?

I loved watching the replay but have a question: Why is there no option when all U Boats are disengaged to not attempt following and re-engaging the convoy, performing repairs and reloading torpedoes, even those that would have been available in the outside storage which is what was historically done. The whole point of a wolfpack attack, which often was way more that just 4 boats BTW, was to try to overwhelm the defenses, keep contact with the convoy, and repeatedly attack as long as torpedoes were available? Don't get me wrong that the game design isn't great, but it seems to not address some of the aspects of a true wolfpack. The way that stragglers is resolved is adequate if not 100 % accurate, but I would love to have seen the modeling of the opportunity of regaining the convoy, as was done in actuality by the aggressive U Boat commanders, and expected by Admiral Doenitz. I realize that "The Hunters" involves wolf packs in a very abstracted way, but they do handle damaged stragglers and following convoys in a bit more realism, often involving the possibility of an escort hanging back and a chance of changing time of day. Un escorted stragglers cam be attacked on surface at night, by deck gun or torpedoes, or by torpedoes if submerged in daylight. The possibility of aircraft showing up in daylight is even addressed depending on the period of the patrol. Perhaps a second edition of rules might encompass these possibilities?

Around 28 minutes. U boat disengaged in bottom left quadrant, but doesn't the escort assigned marker mean cannot disengage?
Also, I think hitting the convoy movement button causes the request markers to count down by 1 which is incorrect (they should count down on convoy movement I think, but maybe don't). Can this be checked?
