Now you know how we felt 50 years ago when we first heard and saw Jimi Hendrix. There was nothing like him before, and nothing like him after.

It’s good to see a younger generation appreciate Jimi Hendrix. I recommend watching the whole footage of Jimi’s performance at the Monterrey Pop Festival.

Hendrix...amazing!! He is so relaxed on the guitar...as if it is part of his body. And I love his laid back voice...so sorry he died so young.

Before I was born too but he's one of my all time favorites. Jimi is one of the best guitar players ever--the best of his generation for sure. Him and Santana. Hendrix is amazing. 👏 😍

  • @MrMoggyman

Imagine being so good on guitar that playing is almost boring. That's Jimi. Jimi and his guitar are one. The guitar is just a bridge over which the music flows from Jimi to you. With the music just feel it. Feel the music. Jimi would play it very loud so that it reached into you and touched your soul. I have been with The Experience more than once. For Jimi guitar playing was just effortless. He was a creative genius, and the greatest loss to music of a generation.

A lot of folks say SRV is the GOAT. This was his inspiration. When
Hendrix first appeared in London, Pete Townsend was there. After
watching he called Eric Clapton and said "We're f&cked!". You just
watched the greatest ever. OD'd at 27. RIP

First time Hendrix played in London was with Cream. Chandler (Jimi's manager) asked if this new guy could play with them and they reluctantly said yes.
After the gig Clapton spoke with Candler, "You told me he was good but you didn't tell me he was THAT good."
I believe it was Clapton who called Townshend.

What you have to realize, even more as black peoples, is when he played that song, when came with that crazy sounds, playing with the teeth, behind his back, putting his tongue out, to excite the women in the audience, (especially white women, which was not good to do for a black man in 1967,it was still the segregation in USA) , nobody, on that planet, ever saw or heard something like that! And, even, today, his music, and sounds, are like coming from the future! That guy, is my master, not only for the guitar, but, as a musician! For me, one of the 5 greatest musician of all time! Peace from France guys..... 👍😂✌️👌🇫🇷

Hey Joe was written in 61 or so, credited to a guy named Billy roberts and was covered by a ton of bands in the early/mid 60s, and it was also hendrix's first single.
Jimi's producer and manager wasn't really sure it was going to be a hit, so they got everyone associated with the band, girlfriends, friends, friends of friends, and other musicians to go out and rig the charts by buying up as many copies of the record as possible. Pirate radio also helped out by playing the record constantly, and it worked. The record was a big hit.

Although it doesn't have a video you need to check out Midnight from his War Heroes album. Mind blowing what he did on guitar back in the 60's and I will also add I can think of no other guitar player who was as influential and a following as Jimi Hendix. He has been dead 52 years and guitarist still copy and pay homage to him some even during their own shows. Haven't seen that for other guitarist by in large. BTW You show watch Jimi Hendrix movie documentary by Warner Bros and check out Machine Gun. Whew

Have no idea why people have to keep saying Jimi Hendrix is the greatest guitarist ever.
The only people that don't know that are the ones who died before he even picked up a Guitar, or just crawled out from under a rock that they have been living under the past 60 years.
Also before anyone says anything about the second best guitarist it is Stevie Ray Vaughan., Prove me wrong.

@@405adam Jimi died by 1970. He took guitar to a level that wasn’t even close to what it was before. Sure there were more developments after his death, but bring Jimi back and he would learn to do what Van Halen, SRV ect we’re doing in minutes, and probably do it better.
Plus, with Jimi, he showed off for fun, but the depth to his studio albums was also revolutionary. He’s also one of the best song writers of all time.
