I was late to XG .. but this comeback has me hooked. Both songs are great. Their talent is impressive..
Did anyone else notice how big Hinata's smile was when she started center in the SS stage? :) I'm just happy to see her get the chance to come out and play and that there aren't "issues" in this group. They are all so amazing. Cocona is my bias.
I literally loved hinata and harvey, they visual was stunning and the vocal tho, amazing and unique

Hello fellow Brit! Thanks for checking XG's new comeback, they are truly amazing. You should also check out the rest of their YT contents starting from their pre-debut, you won't regret it. They have organic growth which is rarely seen in idol groups.

Great reaction i feel the same way every time i watch it for the 100th time lol. Its crazy amazon music was promoting this song up on a huge video billboard N.Y. TIMES SQUARE which is insane. There is a video of it on the XG twitter

The Mascara box in the back 🥰That CD sold out almost a week after it was released, so maybe it was around 4-5 days after Mascara was released that you reacted to them. The Shooting Star and Left Right CD box is already sold out, I think it sold out in about 24 hours after it was released to the general public (Alphaz could buy it from the day before).

I feel like I have spent more time watching XG reaction videos this week than doing my actual job. lol
For Shooting Star MV, I love that they managed to showcase so many pieces of pop culture that Japan gave to the world, from the Mario stars to the Sailor Moon transformation. Love that it is Hinata to do the Sailor Moon transformation, since she had the least lines on Tippy Toes and Mascara and she just leveled up since.
I get why SS is the title track since it goes so hard. However, Left Right has that slow-groove baby-making 90s R and B vibe. That is the sort of song you end out the night in the club with. Loved the choreo, especially the elbow thing and the jacket. For the vocals, I feel like the producers just went, "Alright Juria and Chisa, show us what you can do." The KILLT this track.

There were several things that pegs Left Right to 1991.

The lyrics "body swerve left right" is the definition of "swervin" which is a term we used to describe R&B songs like Left Right back around 1990. "Pirellis", " opps(it's actually O.P.P.s)...everything screams 1991. I think they're going after the Gen X and Gen Z at the same time which is genius! All those colorful looks they have? Ever heard of Bratz dolls?

Yeah, youmixed up Chisa and Juria, but it's okay. You'll get there. For me, Chisa's voice cuts through. Juria's tends to be softer and sweeter. There are both amazing vocalists, and yes they are both mains. I think technically, Hinata is a sub-vocalist. Maya flits between vocal and rap, and Kokona, Jurin and Harvey are the rap line. However as you can see on these two songs, they are all vocalists.

As a Japanese kpop fan, I am so proud of xg. I think Japan was too small for them. I am glad and thankful that they were trained by kpop professionals in S. Korea. They made this dream team.

honest, their debut song was meh;P Mascara was some messy bs which some kpop songs like next level, savage, how you like that, has:p But Shooting star if FINALLY great song from them;)
To me the opposite, lots of kpop songs that overhype by big fandoms. Their first two songs are alot better than big names group kpop songs to me may be because I'm not into kpop only. I love alot of genres like edm, trap, opera/classical, CC, MT, noise, math rock, progressive and so on...
Big fan of XG, but I have to agree with you; only because the 1st two songs was just not exactly my type of music; but still could be favored by many and the talent these girls have did shine through. I grew up listening to RnB so Shooting star is definitely my favorite yet. I think its SOTY potential even though its still January.
@@jezzpane605 Yeah but two first songs are made it exact same way like big 4....just more westernized, less kpop. Boy groups - oh let do next bruno mars song or weird EDM(ST)...girl group make girls look like bad b.tches and spitting hate on men because that is western trend. Shooting Star is a finally a kpop song, dynamic, fun, colorful, with great vocal and of course with hard rap part and dope choroe:P
@@KallenSC So Mascara was about hating on men? I don't think so. It is empowering women who have been treated badly by men, whoever they are. They are not generalizing, and it's not hating. They wanted everyone to know that they deserve everything not less than what they deserve. For me, the lyrics of all their songs are amazing... And hearing so many kpop song, XG having songs in full english, and with lyrics that actually makes sense is insane to me. I guess if you compare the concept of their first two songs I'd agree that it is more like what you see in kpop songs and mv's and such but the lyrics? Nah... Their lyrics actually has depth not just some weird and cringe phrases and whatever.
