It wasn't a reaction to getting fired, instead it was a reaction to getting a random drug test at work. So this 20 year old guy was a bit immature and had a big ego. Whenever we heard about random drug tests at work this guy would threaten to quit if he got tested. To him it was an insult because he wasn't a loser that does drugs. So naturally we all assumed he was a loser that does drugs. After 2 years with the company his name gets pulled out of the hat. The guy was livid and demanded a one on one talk with the boss. Guy refuses to do the drug test and quits on the spot when he was given no choice. Again we all assume he's into drugs and just trying to hide it. A week later he gets hired on at another company and they do pre employment drug tests. Guy was a drug free idiot after all.
The judge in the story where the Mother and son were arrested after the son got fired should have recused himself from the case as he had a family connection to the defendants. Also using his position to try to get his stepson's job back was something that he could/should have gotten in trouble for as that would be intimidating a witness.

In Europe that Judge would have been fired and criminally charged. they are 100% not allowed to involve themselves in personal matters. I have a Judge friend.
