Gonna have to disagree w/the advice here. He says to use a premium detergent...OK....but let's make it plant-based......& don't use the pods. It's funny because he says use less detergent but he also says to use a pod per load. Those pods have enough detergent in them to do FIVE loads.....so using 1 is 5 times too much detergent. I never wash my towels separate from the rest of my laundry. They come out just fine & so does everything else. All laundry needs to be washed in warm water....a cool rinse is fine. I highly recommend checking out Patric (that's how he spells it) Richardson, aka The Laundry Evangelist if you really want to learn the best ways to do laundry. Never use fabric softener. Use white vinegar in fabric softener dispenser. According to Patric, just one time of using fabric softener, reduces a towels' absorbancy by 80%.There won't be any need to put them thru a special wash every 6 weeks if you wash them the correct way in the first place. Agree about line-drying.....saves money, better for the planet, the sun sanitizes & deodorizes. Shake the towels before hanging on line & choose a breezy day...that helps soften them.
