Weekend Destination: Assannagar Prakrit Homestay @ Adventures with Anita G

Recently we had visited a quaint little village by the name of Assannagar . The resort Prakrit homestay , a labour of lpve by the owner Lopamudra Roy.Last weekend we had been to an unique place in the very lap of nature ,in Asannagar. It is very near Krishnanagar and also near Machdiya station .One can take an auto from both the stations.
We went by road and it took us roughly 2 and a1/2 hours.
Situated on the banks of River Jhor amidst mustard fields and chirping of birds.It is the brainchild of Lopamudra Roy a very young and dynamic lady with unique ideas. This place is completely plastic free.No article made of plastic can be seen here.From the waste paper bin, to casseroles, buckets n Mugs, water bottle nothing was made of plastic.
As soon as we entered the resort we were greeted by the chirping if birds and the aroma of hot breakfast. We had sumptuous meals and elaborate ones. They even made Chappatis from rice flour. The rice rotis were soft n fluffy.
All the vegetables and food was grown in the adjacent land.
With Lopa accompanied me to the vegetable and marigold fields ...This too was an unique experience.
The staff too is very enterprising and talented. Kanai kaka who works as a labourer during the day time sang and played the flute for us in the evening. He enthralled us with his musical talents..
Some of the background score is Kanai Kaka's voice n flute recital.
In the morning we were woken up by fresh palm juice. Indeed it is very light , sweet and delectable.
We saw the staff make Akshay pithe and tasted them for breakfast before hitting the road.
