Explaining what the error message already says... how useful. You'd think people would come to this video after trying what it already suggests to check
2 seconds for me, but I also Uninstalled reinstalled and did everything I could think of but I entered my truck after turning it off and back on and plugged in, finally worked! And the dealership agreed like I was crazy and that it wasn't due to the battery being replaced
Worked great! I have a 2016 silverado and I had manually set the date and time when this happened and that did not work. You have to use the auto set feature and set it to cellular. Let the radio power down, then you're good to go. Thank you!

I realize that this video is almost an year old but it did help resolve my issue with my 2018 chevy silverado 2500hd, I had mistakenly disconnected my ground cable from my battery which had disabled my android auto I had followed the instructions given on the error 8 notification but nothing worked. Then I found your video, I rechecked the time which was almost 2 minutes slow then I corrected that. So I proceeded to turn off my truck and opened the door then closed then I realized that the radio had not completely shut down.. So I removed the key from the ignition switch then the radio had finally shutdown, I waited about 30 seconds and restarted the truck reconnected the phone cable and everything was back to normal... whew.. Sorry for the lengthy description. Thanks George
I slept in my truck at a rest stop during a long trip and killed the battery resulting in the date and time getting all screwy. Tried everything, reset time and date, restored factory settings etc.... And nothing worked. It ended up being as simple as doing the recommended fixes THEN getting out and closing the door to reset the stereo and apply the changes😂. So simple and yet I missed it. Thanks for the video!
Before I even finish listening to the video, I checked my date and it was off because I also had to put in a new battery. I auto set the date and I still got the error message, err! Then my impatient ass listen to the next few seconds and did exactly what he said to do, shut off the truck and open and shut the door to let the stereo turn completely off. Doing that fixed my issue! Thank you very much as this was quite frustrating! Much obliged!
If I have done all of the things you have mentioned in the video, and it still does not connect, what do you recommend? Additional info - My phone recently updated it's software and ever since there has been this problem.
Thanks for the video. My issue was resolved. I was thinking my cable was at fault because carplay was still playing when this happened. But it is working well now.👍👍👍
Holy smokes... I have been trying to find a solution for why my work truck's android auto stopped working. Apparently my work truck does not have the auto time and date update feature. Thank you !!!!
Hello, I'm getting "Error Communication 13" (almost the same thing as it also asks to check the date and time on the car), my only problem is that Toyota Rav4 2019 doesn't give you any settings for DATE, only the time. I'm pretty sure that if I could find the date settings in this model I could fix the issue; some help will be appreciated.
Thank you; time day and month were correct, but wrong year in vehicle settings (2022 Chevy Colorado). The first thing I checked was a different cable, it is a common initial thought.
If none of this works, make sure to update your app.
