I do quilts for kids, I belong to a Houston chapter, I have been a part of giving the quilts to the kids in the hospital, and it was such a blessing. This is an amazing charity! We use a lot of your 3 yd quilts patterns, thank you!
Ok Ladies, I absolutely love each and every one of your videos ❤️ But this one TOUCHED my heart, thank you for sharing Josie’s story and for the opportunity to make and share our love by gifting quilts, that are made with love, to these children, thank you to you all at Fabric Cafe and to QT fabrics, and to Linda, for this loving organization 💕
My now 28 year old son was born with a genetic craniofacial syndrome. As such he has had many, many surgeries and hospitalizations! On several of these admissions, he was given a quilt, an afghan, or a pillowcase. He still treasures these! Ive only been sewing/quilting again since the pandemic and my next plan ( when Im retired) is to make pillowcases and quilts for hospitalized kids.
Such a heartwarming video. I'm just crying and praying for the families who have children with cancer. Thank you for all the information on how we can participate.
I was so touched by the story of the girl that received a quilt and went to sleep. My youngest gdaughter rarely slept through the night from a young age. She had to have a light on when she went to bed and if you went in her room to turn off light when she was sleeping she would wake up and tell you turn it on. I made her a quilt with embroidered squares and gave it to her for her birthday. She slept all night long under that quilt. Then when she came to family gathering she brought the quilt. Few years later she was going to summer camp for the first time and had to take the quilt with her. She sleeps all night without interruptions under the quilt. It is amazing.
Well, this episode just blew me away. I love making charity quilts as I know we all do. It just warms my heart to hear how these quilts are distributed and the smiles and healing they provide.
I saw their both at the PA Quilt Extravaganza this past weekend. I saw some of those fabrics and they are gorgeous and very cheerful!! I'm going to contact my local chapter and see how I can help.
Donna's facial expressions say everything I am feeling during the stories. This is one of the BEST videos I have seen. Thank you for sharing this and also this organization.
I have made quilts for kids from their kits. But have also come to use your patterns for charity. You have made it so easy with so many designs. Thank you Fran, Donna, Linda, and QT fabrics for your generosity!
Hello! This video mistakenly went out early (on Monday) when it was meant for Tuesday at 4pm 😅 So unfortunately links were not working, but all links should work now! So sorry for the trouble!
OMG!!!! I lived on Threadneedle Street in Beaumont from 1968 to 1970. It was one block off of Highland Avenue!!! One of our neighbors was the Cheatham’s and on the other side was the Berwell’s.
If you live in a rural area and would like to help your local community, check with you fire department. We donate quilts and teddy bears to them for families. The families are always appreciate. There’s plenty of places that would appreciate any help and knowing that is quilters can make a difference and brighten someone’s days is a blessing.
Thank you for making me cry! Linda came to my quilt guild in California many years ago and told us her story. My guild donated that very same day many quilts to Quilts For Kids! Now that we moved and live in Florida, I will ask the quilt shops in my area to keep in stock Josies's line of fabric!
Thank you for this opportunity. I will certainly add the name of this group to my address book for future donation. The interview was eye-opening to all the needs that are out there. ❤
My friend and I do kids' quilts for a group called PB&J. Their goal is to help disadvantaged families in Albuquerque. New Mexico has a significant number of children living below the poverty level. Thank you for this informative video. 🎶💐💖🫂
Thanks to all of you for sharing this information about Quilts for Kids. I am in the process of getting ready to move but I plan to make some quilts for this organization once I get settled in. Thanks again!!
I'm heartbroken seeing the death of a beautiful girl. I hope Josie's memory will be kept alive for her family through donations of quilts. Donna & Fran keep up the good work.

Hello Delores! I checked QT's site where they list what shops are carrying the Delightful Dreams fabric, and I only see USA based shops unfortunately...I am so sorry. 😥 Thank you for watching though and hearing Linda's stories.
My Sweet Swirls kit came in and it's stunning. I'm so excited to get started! It's my first fabric order (I'm a newbie and have ordered books/patterns.) 5 stars :)
Love this episode. Thank you so much for bringing Quilts for Kids to our attention. I will be looking for a local chapter to which I can direct my quilts.

I'm surprized the hospital ALLOWED the quilt to be given to the child. I've been in a couple of times and was so cold I wanted one of my blankets to be brought from home. NO. Not allowed. I'm glad I wore a coat so I could wear that in the bed. Their thin little hints of blanket are "warmed" but are cold by the time they get to the room. Child was probably cold the whole time.
I’m going to play this video for my Quilt ladies at our next meeting. We have some other Quilt things in the works, but I think this would be a good one for our next project. Once we finish these, I tried to click on the two “quilt kits that you had and they are no longer available. do you have alternatives? Thanks so much again.

I use Shannon cuddle/minky on all the backs of my quilts. Can I use this for your organization or do you prefer cotton? My daughter had ovarian cancer at age 26. She’d have had is a childhood cancer with the germ cell tumor weighing 11 pounds. I’ve made her several quilts and I’ve always backed it with cuddle because she loves the softness of it. She’s cancer free but the chemo and the size of her tumor has done a lot of damage. We usually have to drive 2 to 2 1/2 hours away for most of her doctors. Nephrologist, gastroenterologist, endocrinologist, orthopedic for all her bones, urologist, neuro surgeon, breast MRI’s, pain management, mammograms, pulmonologist, rheumatologist, hematologist, and allergist. Sewing is my happy place and I’ve donated quilts to our infusion center where my daughter has her port flush, B12 shots and had some iron infusions. I bought your Quick as a Wink 3 yard quilt book and I’ll be making those quilts using up my ovarian cancer ribbon fabric. These, I will donate. Would love to order more books but, I’m thankful for the one right now.
Thank you for sharing your story, Linda. I can't imagine all that your family has gone through. Thank goodness for projects like quilting where we can express our love and care to others. 🥰
