Love your videos! You're my favorite of all the torch reviews. One comment though...when you do the side by side size comparison, can you list the name of each light beside it? Sometimes you can easily see the make/model but others not so much. Would be nice if each model was listed vertically to the left of each light with the 🔦 being reviewed in green. These lights are killer I don’t own one yet but yeah ! I have a garberiel FG 1159 CE it gets hot kills two 18650’s pretty fast so I upgraded to 26650 7200 mAh ultra fire they last a lot longer but it still gets hot !

I also bought a WP3 and if you buy in action or with a coupon it's a very powerful Lep flashlight for little money. But right after unpacking, I was disappointed by the relatively large amount of dust inside the reflector. I don't know where the manufacturer installs this flashlight, but it will not be a dust-free environment. It will not affect the performance of the flashlight, but I would not expect it with such an expensive flashlight and it does not look good if you show someone the flashlight. I own far cheaper flashlights, but they didn't have a dusty spotlight inside from the factory.

@@erwinpama2150 That is a mirror, part of how the light works. It has to bounce a blue laser around in onto a phosphor to create the light you see. Hence it's name LEP meaning laser excited phosphor.
As i said before, this is a duty light type.. better get a monocular or a binocular when purchasing such LEP torches, so the enjoyment is maxed😌..
O, interesting to see you take a side angle of the midrange beamshots.. i'll watch gleefully the next time you do that to some midrange thrower/ flooder type..

Matt, the WP2 has one of the best UI and tints of all the LEPs. Do you feel this UI is a bit of a step backwards?

Sooo, if you want to evade the 2~ second "off" press, halfpress 4 times. Might be something to add to your thumb's muscle memory.
I bought mine from lazada.. I don't think my wp3 beam shot reached 2900m... the farthest beam shot only at 1500m.

What Laser Class is used in WP3?
Pour van it just couldn’t handle it ! With only sealed beams buy Wagner there was simply no comparison 35 watt super dim and 55 watt dim ! Then one must not forget the windshield wiper speeds from back in the day we had slow and slower ! There was no intermittent and DC motors sucked ! Great video love the van trick that made the whole thing ! Maybe you could show a wolf using a walking stick like you blind him for life with it !

The zooming function on the LA60 is cool, but I don't think I would use it, the beam looks so odd in the wider settings! Mine is brand new and it’s just flashing a green light when I plug it in, does that mean it’s completely dead upon arrival because it won’t turn on ? It’s been charging about an hr and same thing, am I doing something wrong ? Lol

can you use this lights as a regular flashlight also? like while searching for something in a dark garage.... in low mode I would guess... but then, even then in low, isn't the light so darn bright that blinds you to your surroundings? (I never had an LEP light)
@@MarcoPolux if you really wanted to you could I suppose, but it's not practical because the spot is very small and blindingly bright. If you must use a thrower, something like a Catapult V6 would be better for looking for things in the garage.

I already have an Olight Warrior m22 which is very similar: I was wondering (in the search for The Light) could this LEP light be used for everything? I've search a lot and there is no good comparison in low mode.... there are some here in youtube, but not too clear, almost all are focused to the turbo modes.
@@MarcoPolux it's very purpose built, Because LEP is so focused and with no spill, the WP3 is only good for shining light at things that are far away. Anything closer than around 300 meters and the spot is too small.
Just ordered one, but can you tell me how much Amps it needs at turbo? Want to get an 26650 cell or 26800 (conversion tube). I think protected cell could be too low amperage (usualy ~10A).
It's only 400 lumens so you can pretty much use any cell.
Just wanna pick your brains before I make my next purchase, it's either an astrolux wp3 for £120 or a lumintop thor 3 for £90. What's your thoughts flash?

Hey Matt, i got the WP3, i love this LEP but one thing that concerns me is the electric cracking sound it emits near the top of the battery, also it has a strong electric wire burnt smell when I unscrew it, it was like that since the factory use. Do you think that is normal?
The battery sounds weird. I'd chuck it.

Others might measure the WP3 at a higher cd but I prefer the LA60 (LA10 lol)

I've got mine today. I opened the box and removed protection circle from the battery. After that I tried to turn it on but flashlight flashes for 0.5 seconds and that's all. So i started charging but When i plug in usb C cable its flashing green and red within 2-3 seconds and after that the diode is continously red and after few seconds it flashes green for 0.5 seconds (and then back to red).Now its charging since 1.5h Is that okay?

@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV I figured out that battery tube wasn't fully tightened and it couldn't flash because of it. I'm dumb 🤣 I fully charged battery and now it seems to be performing really well, will check more at night. I hope there wouldn't be any issues caused by what i did yesterday right? I mean flashlight driver damage or lower throw etc...

@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Yeah i know that. But I see in first seconds of your video you easily touched the clouds and not only edges. It is clearly visible in your video and I have tried doing this with no results. I have no candela meter to measure. Only Lux meter app in my phone but I think its useless. If WP3 touching clouds is visible to naked eye then mine must be faulty because i never seen that personally.. :(
@@dest6869 Sometimes it's hard to tell with the naked eye. you need to put a diffuser in front of your phones light sensor and test the app with other lights.

Pretty impressive. But why do someone want to illuminate something 3kms away? 🤔 Realistically there's no useful task for this flashlight. If there was a flashlight with this chip that gives a wide angle floodlight that's what I would buy immediately.

This. The Weltool tint is horrendous.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV The Weltool is the brightest of them in my eyes, only the tint is warmer which is better at all weather conditions. With the yellow filter it´s really good, at fog too.

@@alaskatoburningmen4549 They all seem to have a greenish tint when new but over time become whiter and brighter. At least that is my experience with my W30. Individual LEP modules will vary much in performance, it's a lottery with any brand as to how it will perform when you get it. Though the Astrolux WP2 and Jetbeam equivalent do seem to under perform compared to Maxtoch, Weltool, Acebeam and the new Astrolux in this review. They used a different type of LEP module.

hey there FLASHAHOLIC, ime in the UK & have a W30 & the acrylic lens has suffered degradation (white haze) , i dont suppose you know there i can get a replacement , Acebeam never contacted me back when i asked if i could buy one from them, ime on facebook to in the flashlight enthusiasts group so easy to find. Love you reviews to, always something new regularly & packed full of information

@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV these lenses seem pretty hard to source for LEP's especially at 38mm, ive scoured the internet with no luck, ime wondering if ime entering incorrect search criteria, ive found a few single sided aspheric lenses but its the double sided ones that are needed for LEP's, ime not sure if there is a specific name for such a lens
You can get them from Maxtoch for around $20, (great customer service) but it will take a couple of months. All the large head LEP's use the exact same lens. Remove yours first it may be fine, they always look hazy and scuffed up when lit up, because of internal reflections. Never touch the lens surface or wipe with any kind of cloth or you will scratch it. Wash it with alcohol and tiny soft paintbrush if necessary. Blow dry with compressed air can before any remaining droplets dry and leave spots.
