@@marlonclark1896 Do you know how I know Hawkman? He was in the classic Super Friends cartoons by Hannah Barbara, including Challenge of The Super Friends!!!
It's amazing that DC did not capitalize on what DCAU did for Hawkgirl. They made her an equal to Wonder Woman in that universe. They should have done that in the comics but sadly it always has to be WW. I love Diana too but characterization of Shayera and her contrast with Diana, flesh both their personalities. Diana was loving and caring but a formidable warrior. Shayera was bold, in your face, hit now asks questions later kinda gal.
Always had a soft spot for Hawkgirl but her development as a solid character in the DC Universe was too erratic. Seems like writers could never settle on her character arc. Hopefully she's on more solid ground these days.
Justice League and Unlimited were the best version of her and true to her character to the very core And don't fight me on that Shayera Holl is and always be Hawkgirl ✊
There was a Justice league cartoon back in the 1960’s where Hawk Girl was married to Hawk Man (Carter Hall) and sometimes they worked on their own or as part of (as it was called back then) the JLA. That was a variation on the silver age Hawk Girl, at least I think it was…. Judging from the story arcs shown in this video, Hawk Girl’s life has gotten complicated these days.

To me, no show or comic really did a deep dive and developed the character of Hawkgirl as much as the Justice League animated series and Justice League Unlimited! Such a female Wolverine! I was fascinated by her and looked forward to seeing her the most, as much as I love Batman and Wonder Woman! When I saw her featured prominently on these series, I was like, where the hell has SHE been???! Why the fuck has DC and writers been sleeping on such an AWESOME, ENTHRALLING cartoon character???! Hawkgirl deserves her own 5-year series!
the cartoons couldn't use Carter Hall's name because of copy rights. So they said his name was Ro Talic. Later they used another name close to Carter Hall but not quite.
@@marlonclark1896 I wish that they would’ve continued her story, I could see Chiara and her Beau setting down maybe in Meiji era Japan or living in Egypt after defeating that psycho who wanted them dead.

Hawk Girl was always an "Also-Ran". Less than a sidekick, Just the female version of Hawk Man created at a time when every super hero needed a [pardon the pun] wing-man. Most of the sidekicks eventually grew into their own characters, but Hawk Girl never developed, she just faded into the background. Present in the Golden age, Absent or invisible in the Silver age. That was, Until the Justice league animated series that had to adhere to guidelines of gender balance in every team situation. Sidelining Hawk man in favour of someone who wasn't even prominent enough to be called his sidekick was a bold move. A bold move that would probably failed had not the writers developed her personality to not only pull her out of the shadows, but actually make her a deep and complex individual, integral to the story structure of the WHOLE series. Harley Quinn in the Batman animated series took on a life of her own simply by capturing the fans imagination. Hawk Girl already existed and had a history that had to be overcome in order to reinvent her. Maybe it's because her background and character in comics WAS such a blank slate that it afforded the writers the opportunity to really make a splash with her. Hawk Girl is my favourite member of the animated Justice league because although her image is familiar, she's NEW, She's FRESH, and she's a force of will all her own. My favourite scene out of SO MANY favourite scenes is her interactions with Solomon Grundy, when she was present for BOTH of Grundy's deaths.
