This movie is impressive. I have been reading comments about different scenes from this film, and it amazes me how people, especially men, were touched by the scenes and particularly by the character Danielle. It is important to make this distinction because surely the feeling that everyone feels does not transfer to the actress Elisha Cuthbert, but rather to her character Danielle. This undoubtedly highlights the quality of Elisha as an actress. She was able to give beauty and sensuality that she does not express on a daily basis to her character. Danielle touched the hearts of so many men, young and not so young, as she materialized or relived feelings and dreams that everyone would like to have experienced or have experienced in their lives. Great movie!

I miss that feeling when I was younger. Being so overwhelmed by a girl by how beautiful she is and so out of your league that you’re just hoping you get to get a moment with her. You don’t expect anything - but can’t help get that huge buzz and rush of excitement when you think she might have glanced at you in a certain way. She’s older, so much more wiser. You put her on a huge pedestal - and that’s a good thing, because to you, she’s perfect. Life experience (or the lack of it) has kept you innocent from thinking about the worries; prejudice; imperfections and most of all, caution. It’s the only time you get to fall in love like you’ve never been hurt before. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks, because only you can see her true beauty and how precious she is. In that moment, she’s all that matters to you and you just really, really want to be a better person so you might be the right person for her. But it’s okay if you’re not, actually, it hurts like hell but you’re just glad she exists. It makes you so happy just thinking about her, you want to imagine what her life is like, what she thinks about, what makes her happy, what makes her sad. You start dreaming that you can be the warrior who can protect her from all the sadness in the world. I miss that feeling. It was so pure and so sweet. Life had so much meaning with the new sensation of butterflies, electricity, youth and young love. I wonder where along the way I lost having those feelings….and if i’ll ever get that tingling back. I really hope I do one day, and when that feeling comes back - i’ll know I won’t let her go.
There was a girl in highschool, I was a freshman and she was a senior. I immediately fell for her. She was like a jewel in my eyes, her voice, her smile, her personality, everything about her was perfect. We got to talking and before long I knew she was into me. She laughed more with me, her smile never left her face. She always said Hi in passing and she always gave me this look that was so indescribable. It was like she was teasing me, yet she was absolutely serious. The look in her eyes, a look of playfulness and also a look of wanting and vulnerability I will never forget. We went to our last school dance and she was actually crowned the queen. We spent all night dancing and holding each other. We shared some amazing memories that year. It was almost like she was the one I could never have. She didn't date anyone that year including me and because I was a freshman it made it hard for the both of us. We both knew how much we cared for each other but could never really pursue anything. There's something incredibly special about those days, the innocent and yet overwhelming feelings we had. A few years later she ran into my parents at a party and heard their last name and asked if I was related. She told them how she missed me, how she thought about me and that she had a huge crush on me and still did. She would never forget me and I wouldnt either. I still love her after all these years.
This is incredibly accurate to the last year of my life. I know exactly how you feel man, how the butterflies come alive every time she gives you that warm smile as you pass by. The little wave of acknowledgement and you look down and just smile wondering what in the world. The age gap can never be really closed in society, yet you both share a level of understanding no one else will. I will never forget. Even though the right person was there, the right timing never was. I'm glad.
Its been 3 days in row i watched this movie, danielle is so perfect in every way. Her smile, her eyes, her laugh and the way she support matthew was so perfect. For real, i cant stop thinking about her lately🤪

Just finished this movie second time after some years, can't explain it. It stops the time for me and makes me feel like home everytime along with this soundtrack. Elisha is just so perfect.

I have the unrated version of this movie. I have watched it so many times its unreal .Matthew was definatly a lucky guy. Such a good story line that just about anyone can relate to. You either wish it was happening to you or one of your friends may have been so lucky. I miss the good ole high school daze. Mom and Dad paid all the bills, it was a much simpler time.There was nobody even close to Danielle who was down to earth and approachable in the movie ( i wish ) . At my school they were mostly cheerleaders and jocks who were stuck - up and only hung out with others like them . The PLASTICS. I had no use for them.This movie is a keeper. I have enjoyed it so much.She is PERFECT. The actor who plays Kelly the EX boyfriend and manager does a great job. I knew guys like him. Brings back memories.We had this guy that was in the grade below and i swear he looked just like Rick Springfield the singer . He thought he was a bad ass .We would call him Rick Springfield just to piss him off. ( Thats not my name he would say )!!!! Now has white hair.

Here we go.... I watched this movie 5 days ago and I can't forget this fictional romance and "This Year's Love", (David Gray what a piece of art you made). I can't hold this desire of finding that girl, that feeling of love that I think I will never find. I'm so desperate to find a girl that completes my desires, that stays with me in the good and bad moments, that comforts me and I comfort her. Last years have been pretty rough... My uncle commited suicide and I miss him so much and his dog that also died before him but due to natural causes (aging). My "grandma aunt" also died of natural causes (aging). She lived in an elderly care home and was surrounded by that lonely environment that hunts me more and more has the years pass. I remember I didn't visit her often, but when I did it she would usually wait for a opportunity to be alone with me and she would cry and ask me to visit her more, and take her out of that loneliness. I regret so much being a stupid kid at that age and not wanting to visit her because I thought it was boring. Then my grandmother, she died of lungs cancer( I had such a big bond with her and my passed uncle, I would give everything to be with them). Besides having cancer she had asma for her entire life. Besides having this struggles and the cancer in her last years she was a warrior. She would go up the 50 stairs to her apartment with my help, stopping each X steps to rest, over and over again. She never had a break and worked her entire life not knowing the feeling of being retired. As I thought everything was done/over... My other uncle is in the process of going to prison (sentence of 7 or more years, already sentenced). He also cries and tells me to enjoy life and how much he would like to have mine (because I'm not in the process of being arrested/going to prison ). I'm tired of this suffering, I just want to be that normal kid that I once was. Just like the boy in this movie I had a personality in the spectrum of kinda quiet/studious but also outgoing I also would go around with my 2 friends and we would talk about girls, about what we want to become idk normal dudes things. I'm in my last year of high school, I'm lost, I stopped studying, lost my motivation, I'm depressed... I just want to find this girl and run away with her, escape my problems my worries. I want to spend every second of my life telling her how much I love her. Where are you when I most need you? I learned a lot of things over the years and one of each not to judge people by their past or their choices. I don't care about your past, I won't judge your past or future choices. Just come with me and let's build a future together. I can only find this comfort on this movies because life is obviously not only roses and good things. I lost my faith in religion a long time due to my problems and other things. It's hard not to think about killing myself. Idk how but I keep caring on, not living but surviving. Im able to give that appearance that everything is right to everyone around me. I just want that girl and that's it... I want to kiss her, I want to hugh her... I was never an handsome dude cause I'm small (1,64m) and skinny, but I'm ready to give everything for you. I don't know if you will ever appear. It's seems impossible to find you, I don't want to give up like my uncle, but I also want to die. Please save me...

Say what you want about the Girl Next Door. I think it's a great movie, best in the romantic comedy genre, and I'm an action movie guy. It's a romantic comedy with a message to it. A simple guy falls for the girl next door, who just happens to be someone trying to leave the degrading world of porn behind her. He not only has deal with the fact that she's a former pornstar, but he has to deal with a ruthless porn producer, and juggle high school life. May not be Oscar worthy, but I think it's pretty good.

For example, what if the porn producer is debt to the mob, and he tries force back into the business she hates in order to save his own skin. The scene where he goes to Vegas to find her, could be the scene where he tells Kelly without words that's he's willing fight for the girl he loves, and if that's the case well then bring it on. Imagine it, an ordinary high school kid suddenly finds himself in a life and death struggle against ruthless porn producer and his thugs to free the woman he loves. The movie could start off as a romantic comedy, and suddenly it turns into an action thriller, a game of cat and mouse. Can these two innocent people escape the cunning, ruthless, greedy Kelly. Who's really just a small time producer who owes money to a much larger and darker force than himself.

I miss that feeling when I was younger. Being so overwhelmed by a girl by how beautiful she is and so out of your league that you’re just hoping you get to get a moment with her. There was a girl in highschool, I was a freshman and she was a senior. I immediately fell for her. She was like a jewel in my eyes, her voice, her smile, her personality, everything about her was perfect.
We got to talking and before long I knew she was into me. She laughed more with me, her smile never left her face. She always said Hi in passing and she always gave me this look that was so indescribable. It was like she was teasing me, yet she was absolutely serious. The look in her eyes, a look of playfulness and also a look of wanting and vulnerability I will never forget. We went to our last school dance and she was actually crowned the queen. We spent all night dancing and holding each other.
We shared some amazing memories that year. It was almost like she was the one I could never have. She didn't date anyone that year including me and because I was a freshman it made it hard for the both of us. We both knew how much we cared for each other but could never really pursue anything. There's something incredibly special about those days, the innocent and yet overwhelming feelings we had. A few years later she ran into my parents at a party and heard their last name and asked if I was related. She told them how she missed me, how she thought about me and that she had a huge crush on me and still did. She would never forget me and I wouldnt either.
I still love her after all these years.
This is incredibly accurate to the last year of my life. I know exactly how you feel man, how the butterflies come alive every time she gives you that warm smile as you pass by. The little wave of acknowledgement and you look down and just smile wondering what in the world. The age gap can never be really closed in society, yet you both share a level of understanding no one else will. I will never forget. Even though the right person was there, the right timing never was. I'm glad.

I have the unrated version of this movie. I have watched it so many times its unreal .Matthew was definatly a lucky guy. Such a good story line that just about anyone can relate to. You either wish it was happening to you or one of your friends may have been so lucky. I miss the good ole high school daze. Mom and Dad paid all the bills, it was a much simpler time.There was nobody even close to Danielle who was down to earth and approachable in the movie ( i wish ) . At my school they were mostly cheerleaders and jocks who were stuck - up and only hung out with others like them . The PLASTICS. I had no use for them.This movie is a keeper. I have enjoyed it so much.She is PERFECT. The actor who plays Kelly the EX boyfriend and manager does a great job. I knew guys like him. Brings back memories.We had this guy that was in the grade below and i swear he looked just like Rick Springfield the singer . He thought he was a bad ass .We would call him Rick Springfield just to piss him off. ( Thats not my name he would say )!!!! Now has white hair.

Here we go.... I watched this movie 5 days ago and I can't forget this fictional romance and "This Year's Love", (David Gray what a piece of art you made).
I can't hold this desire of finding that girl, that feeling of love that I think I will never find. I'm so desperate to find a girl that completes my desires, that stays with me in the good and bad moments, that comforts me and I comfort her.
Last years have been pretty rough... My uncle commited suicide and I miss him so much and his dog that also died before him but due to natural causes (aging). My "grandma aunt" also died of natural causes (aging). She lived in an elderly care home and was surrounded by that lonely environment that hunts me more and more has the years pass. I remember I didn't visit her often, but when I did it she would usually wait for a opportunity to be alone with me and she would cry and ask me to visit her more, and take her out of that loneliness. I regret so much being a stupid kid at that age and not wanting to visit her because I thought it was boring. Then my grandmother, she died of lungs cancer( I had such a big bond with her and my passed uncle, I would give everything to be with them). Besides having cancer she had asma for her entire life. Besides having this struggles and the cancer in her last years she was a warrior. She would go up the 50 stairs to her apartment with my help, stopping each X steps to rest, over and over again. She never had a break and worked her entire life not knowing the feeling of being retired. As I thought everything was done/over... My other uncle is in the process of going to prison (sentence of 7 or more years, already sentenced). He also cries and tells me to enjoy life and how much he would like to have mine (because I'm not in the process of being arrested/going to prison ).
I'm tired of this suffering, I just want to be that normal kid that I once was. Just like the boy in this movie I had a personality in the spectrum of kinda quiet/studious but also outgoing I also would go around with my 2 friends and we would talk about girls, about what we want to become idk normal dudes things.
I'm in my last year of high school, I'm lost, I stopped studying, lost my motivation, I'm depressed...
I just want to find this girl and run away with her, escape my problems my worries. I want to spend every second of my life telling her how much I love her.
Where are you when I most need you? I learned a lot of things over the years and one of each not to judge people by their past or their choices. I don't care about your past, I won't judge your past or future choices. Just come with me and let's build a future together. I can only find this comfort on this movies because life is obviously not only roses and good things.
I lost my faith in religion a long time due to my problems and other things.
It's hard not to think about killing myself. Idk how but I keep caring on, not living but surviving. Im able to give that appearance that everything is right to everyone around me.
I just want that girl and that's it... I want to kiss her, I want to hugh her...

Say what you want about the Girl Next Door. I think it's a great movie, best in the romantic comedy genre, and I'm an action movie guy. It's a romantic comedy with a message to it. A simple guy falls for the girl next door, who just happens to be someone trying to leave the degrading world of porn behind her. He not only has deal with the fact that she's a former pornstar, but he has to deal with a ruthless porn producer, and juggle high school life. May not be Oscar worthy, but I think it's pretty good.

For example, what if the porn producer is debt to the mob, and he tries force back into the business she hates in order to save his own skin. The scene where he goes to Vegas to find her, could be the scene where he tells Kelly without words that's he's willing fight for the girl he loves, and if that's the case well then bring it on. Imagine it, an ordinary high school kid suddenly finds himself in a life and death struggle against ruthless porn producer and his thugs to free the woman he loves. The movie could start off as a romantic comedy, and suddenly it turns into an action thriller, a game of cat and mouse. Can these two innocent people escape the cunning, ruthless, greedy Kelly. Who's really just a small time producer who owes money to a much larger and darker force than himself.

I’ve known about this movie for years but I only watched it till recently and I always thought it was some random 2000 teen movie that would be garbage but it was fantastic it has really had an effect on me especially by the character Danielle and after watching it I want to find a girl who will look at me the way Danielle looks at Matthew this movie just brings out feelings I can’t explain great movie
