Imagine making this smug comment, how about you acknowledge you and your team have destroyed sod pvp and actually do something to fix it? I think everyone would strongly suggest the SOD team actually play the game they make for once and experience this crap first hand. A little history on how this became possible. For half a year or more, players have been complaining on reddit that it's impossible to get reputation when one team is constantly losing. blizzard, instead of looking into the problem, decided to simply raise the reward for losing. Of course, this does not solve the problem. And now we are where we are
@@Kaghoegaming To get better armor I had to gain reputation last phace. I had to suffer in AB because in 4-5 hours I saw only 1 or 2 wins no matter how hard I tried. So it's not fun. When there is balance it's fun and people will play AB because it's fun.
The problem is that classic PVP was always unbalanced. Things only got worse with SOD because they didn’t want to implement the massive amount of changes that are needed to help make PVP better for all classes. Add that with making classes much stronger and you get to where it is now.
Hero classes created a faction imbalance that plagued SOD for so long. You expect alliance to want to meaningfully participate in PVP? It's 100% a player mentality issue that was created and perpetuated by poor dev choices and catering to 1 class for 3 (arguably 4) phases.

Divine sacrifice a party wide 30% dmg reduction ability, paladins are also the ONLY class in SOD that can dispell disease, magic, poison... oh and they cant instant mount IN COMBAT 😂absolute spineless players throwing every battleground because shamans have a ranged interrupt.

Often find it’s normally the actually good pvpers who can be honest and say shamans are broken, meanwhile the super casual horde players seem to just think they’re all gods at PvP lol. I should mention I don’t think shamans are the only reason factions are imbalanced: I think racials play a part too, sod specific changes like giving horde fear ward etc, and lastly some blame on the actual players being less PvP inclined on alliance and more willing to give up. All these factors combine imo
This is the best way to describe shamans in SoD, they are Blizzard upper management and the rest of the classes are blizzard female employees… it never gets better for us, only worse

Blizz should possibly consider just nerfing AV into the dumpster and bringing up AB/WSG through idk 3x honor per kill or some crap. Creating systems (AV/AB) that incentivize people to afk/lose because it's the most effective hph compared to playing normally is the dev's fault.

Used to be the same when I played ESO. They would have double ap weekend. The 3 factions would just run a big circle taking turns capping keeps. No one engaged in pvp. If it’s easy the players will always take advantage

it's not the players' fault, there is no balance in pvp SOD. when you know who will win it's not fun. shamans are just a god-like class that easily kills 2-3 players in solo. it's not fun. There is no balance in many expansions, but SOD has probably made the worst.

I've played since vanilla alpha and you are insane. Knowing how to utilize your skills and just sucking are 2 different things. I used to think that back in the day instill I realized i was not using my racials correctly.

Don't kid yourself. A 5 cap game is over in less than a few minutes. Horde just has an overwhelming advantage not in any literal sense but because everyone who wants to pvp goes horde and alliance are permanently tilted. I didn't want to believe that was true. I played alliance and tried very hard to make it not true. But in solo que bgs that is the case 99% of the time, enough to call it a fact.

Only time I seen alliance win AV is in a premade and it was basically horde lost the fights at the middle points, then lose farm, then give up. It is honestly both sides would do this, just that horde usually has the advantage with shamans.
If your upset go play era. This is a seasonal realm, its not going to be around as long as era and no one has no life enough to pvp grond, be tha kful tou can get into a que and not have to wait for 20 or 30 mins per que.
99% of people dont care for pvp they just want get it done for gear and shit. People always go for most easy thing. THat is why there is no point in nerfing anything .
@@Kaghoegaming The hunter pvp set's rank 10 pieces were bis in phase 1 (because it gave 20 agi for the 2 piece. The new pieces fixes this by giving the stam first instead at 2 piece).
AV, when it pops is actually much better now. People actually fight for the kills and the game lasts 30+ minutes The first day was good, it took a day for the new meta to emerge. I cannot blame the devs completely for such a wacky turn of events, but surely they coud have known that 2 marks and 7500 honor encourages afk behavior. AB and WSG did not need the 2 marks, in fact it made things worse. And the turn-in should be like 1600 honor tops (was almost 400). The HK honor and perhaps buffed objective bonuses would help the situation. Essentially, just make it so that the meta is to play the game.
Solution- let people get their honor. Within a few weeks people will not need honor. Then people who enjoy AB (if any) can go play. Same people playing before P5
@@Kaghoegaming. Make 2-4 pieces BIS when combines with the Raid set bonus like 6 piece tier 2 + pvp 2 piece(acquired at rank 13) add additional stat or set bonus. Nothing game breaking but enough to make it true bis. That would make the grind worth it for some.
sod pvp has always been bad.. I feel like vanilla was based around pvp thats why pve was unbalanced but vanilla was crazy balanced if u think about it.

Yeah, the PVP gear is not BIS for PVE which in SOD is what everything revolves around. No one liked the battle ground and increasing honor doesn’t make people like it. For the select few that did enjoy it, all this would do is add players that just want honor
probably just increase honor from the objectives themselves more so players focus on that and maybe rethink the honor you get at the end of the bg maybe kills should give more but not to the point where ppl just farm themselves at GY

"pvp" is dead. I haven't even stepped into a bg since last phase/AV grind. Not even looking forward to it, but I have at least one more rank to get the mount.
I play alliance on Living flame EU, and I started playing AB when the patch went out. We tried to win but lost 9/10 fights. Shamans are just to powerfull. So I think people just gave up. You can still win if you run a premade tho.
Living Flame EU as well. 9/10 is indeed loss unless you get into premades where they actually want to win. However, horde was never afking, even against a pre-made. Always putting up a fight. Anyway this so called meta is just gross takes away everything pvp bg was meant to be. You even get insulted by other players when trying to cap an enemy flag 😵💫

Shaman, Hunters, Boomkins, and Shadow is totally broken and the devs refuse to balance the game. Hunters doing 2k damage with chimaera shot plus another 1k with explosive trap. Shaman of every spec getting instant cast riptides and being a raid boss. Boomkins get massive nukes and dots with barkskin. Shadow is the master pet class now with massive dots and 1k+ dmg swd. Fix the game.

As a crusader strike alliance player. We are fighting back, found that if horde sees we push back. They quit. I was able to get 25+ wins last night, getting all caps and we farmed kills. Gained 250k honor in a few hours.
It's actually insane. When alliance make premades we almost always roflstomp the Horde. It may take an extra minute or 2, but walking away with 30-40 HKs and a win is well worth the slightly slower win.
The rewards from pvp should come from actual pvp. For objective bgs...there should be a significant bonus for defenders/attackers at an objective. (e.g. 100% bonus for 30sec/1m at an objective). 👍👍👍👍
It’s on the devs 100%. Not trying to be a dick, but sometimes they need to eat crow. They messed up by putting in blanket nerfs instead of adjusting classes. Mage, our class as an example, is literally the most absolute dog turd of a class for all 3 specs in pvp. We do ZERO damage. Horde meanwhile have the best racials, the strongest 2 classes, and back in p2 when Shaman became a problem everyone rolled one. Sure, player attitude isn’t helping, but it was 110% driven by the developers mishandling of classes and pvp.
LOL, betcha still Honor Capped all your characters, but keep preaching about how this is bad, dude it isn't like the horde don't want to pvp, hell I took 5 friends and got rofl stomped by 15 alliance because it is just a zerg fest. It makes no sense to even play the game if they choose to do that and the horde just run away from the fight. We don't have to cap 5 flags, we can choose just to honor farm them in graveyard.
I honor capped 2 characters in 1 day haha, i don't mind this new system, itll be obvious in world pvp who actually did some pvp whilst ranking, also this is 100% the responsibility of the players, people could play the objectives but are actively choosing not to
Coming from someone who ranked to 14 in 2019 this is way too much honor for a turn in. I got 300k in blackrock mountain before these changes went in. Took me 1 hr to get the 120k but almost 20+ hrs to get my 300k solo.

Nerf Shamans and you might have more alliance wanting to PVP? My hopes are a majority of alliance stop pvping entirely until Shaman gets nerfed to a "fair" position. They have just too much in their tool kit with little to no weakness. With that said we run premades and farm horde since they generally just roll over.

I witnessed this develop. It wasn't so much of an unspoken decision but more so alliance making the best thing for their situation. Horde was stomping all over alliance and alliance got sick of slow loses. So it changed to them just sitting in their start base and then changed to a farm fight for some HKs.
Mayen a timer like in retail could help. I know shamans are strong bult these rush-tactics also come because noone wants a 1 Hour bg and then loose. 15 minutes and the most points win

Think if the PvP gear had resilience on it or something that made it just good for PvP and not PvE it wouldn't be a problem but then you wouldn't have any alliance PvP because of Shamans.

Other responses include " Blame the devs", "this is the most efficient way to get honor, doing anything else is griefing", "shamans are too strong anyway." I get at most 2 other players that suggest they would want to win. Everyone else actively flames me for capping.
Entire core of Classic PVP gear progression is a problem. PVP gear shouldn't be viable in PvE mode. That's why they moved from it in later expansions with adding bonuses like versatility to gear. Most of SoD players that engage in PvP, does so entirely for easy PvE gear(thanks to pre-BiS wowhead articles)
this issue is a player mindset issue. people want to min/max everything. too many are playing the game for that instead of enjoyment, thus things like this happen. i have no idea how to fix the issue on the game dev side. no matter what they do the player will always find the way thats the best time wise.
devs fault for sure. to progress your current rank you HAVE TO HIT a certain amount of honor or that entire week you just dont progress at all lol how am i supposed to work and hit 250k honor in one week lol the devs are a damn joke when it comes to pvp let me play a few games a week and keep my honor so i can eventually rank up over time.

Don’t play alliance if you want to pvp you can’t hold anything because every alliance player you meet just run in and die and wait dead until it’s safe to respawn. They actually talk shit to you when you try to rally against the horde.

a good way to fix this is cut the honor gains from turning in marks to around 5k, leave the marks on loss at 2, but make the honor gained per tick from holding bases double, or triple, that will incentivize at least attempting to cap bases, and move the meta away from afk to actually playing the objectives of the battleground.
Solely due to the min/max parsing toxicity SOD has adopted. Some of the most fun I’ve had in years in wow was SOD until this overshadowed all aspects of gameplay. Enjoying retail now at least. But will give the new phases a try

I would like to see social experiment in raid. You have 2 options: 1) You can stay AFK at the entrance and after 30 min you get loot from every boss and raid ends. 2) You can raid normaly. I think that results would be wild.

This is more fallout from incursions. Reinforced training of the players to follow patterns of the least resistance. And it's on the devs. Devs thought their fuckup with incs were a hoot. Forcing weak minded players to follow patterns in lieu of actual gaming. And now players are doing it in BGs. How you like em incursions now Blizz. Still fucking laughing? It's devs who fucked our season over. The players are just being players. I didn't do incursions until they were fixed as dailies. Can you say the same?
Anyone who participated in the inc meta. Are hypocrites if they are against the PvP meta. You don't get to chose what's a good way to break the game and what's a bad why to break a game. Incs killed SoD's season and the devs allowed the players to do it with inpunity.
Another point of season collapse... P2. Hunters' melee spec rune. Required killing 7 dark riders scattered across the world. P4 Hunters' brand new Aspect... of the falcon. What elaborate quest and where to to get ahold of this valued new addition to the Hunter's skillset. Just fly here and buy it off a vendor. That's SoD in a nutshell now as it strings out with a whimper. The devs failed us. We didn't fail them.
It shouldn't take a long amount of time to rank on a seasonal server. This is some gatekeeping by people who have too much free time. Ranking was hard back in the day. Let that stay in the past
Buffing the horde, nerfing the alliance makes it unbarable to pvp against the horde, the meta is ther because the diffirence is so unfair no one wants to waste time pvping against unkillable shamans with druids back up healing them.

This is what happens when you let shamans destroy for 3 phases. There is no PvP balance. If you played alliance for all of SoD you would understand.

Totally agree MMO pvp has always been mid to trash. That's why I would rather support other games when I want to pvp.

it's not the players' fault, there is no balance in pvp SOD. when you know who will win it's not fun. shamans are just a god-like class that easily kills 2-3 players in solo. it's not fun. There is no balance in many expansions, but SOD has probably made the worst.

Don't kid yourself. A 5 cap game is over in less than a few minutes. Horde just has an overwhelming advantage not in any literal sense but because everyone who wants to pvp goes horde and alliance are permanently tilted. I didn't want to believe that was true. I played alliance and tried very hard to make it not true. But in solo que bgs that is the case 99% of the time, enough to call it a fact.

Only time I seen alliance win AV is in a premade and it was basically horde lost the fights at the middle points, then lose farm, then give up. It is honestly both sides would do this, just that horde usually has the advantage with shamans.

@@Kaghoegaming The hunter pvp set's rank 10 pieces were bis in phase 1 (because it gave 20 agi for the 2 piece. The new pieces fixes this by giving the stam first instead at 2 piece).
AV, when it pops is actually much better now. People actually fight for the kills and the game lasts 30+ minutes
The first day was good, it took a day for the new meta to emerge. I cannot blame the devs completely for such a wacky turn of events, but surely they coud have known that 2 marks and 7500 honor encourages afk behavior.
AB and WSG did not need the 2 marks, in fact it made things worse. And the turn-in should be like 1600 honor tops (was almost 400). The HK honor and perhaps buffed objective bonuses would help the situation. Essentially, just make it so that the meta is to play the game.

Yeah, the PVP gear is not BIS for PVE which in SOD is what everything revolves around. No one liked the battle ground and increasing honor doesn’t make people like it. For the select few that did enjoy it, all this would do is add players that just want honor

I play alliance on Living flame EU, and I started playing AB when the patch went out. We tried to win but lost 9/10 fights. Shamans are just to powerfull. So I think people just gave up. You can still win if you run a premade tho.

Shaman, Hunters, Boomkins, and Shadow is totally broken and the devs refuse to balance the game. Hunters doing 2k damage with chimaera shot plus another 1k with explosive trap. Shaman of every spec getting instant cast riptides and being a raid boss. Boomkins get massive nukes and dots with barkskin. Shadow is the master pet class now with massive dots and 1k+ dmg swd. Fix the game.

As a crusader strike alliance player. We are fighting back, found that if horde sees we push back. They quit. I was able to get 25+ wins last night, getting all caps and we farmed kills. Gained 250k honor in a few hours.

Crusader strike alliance here. got 500k in a day without a loss.
It's actually insane. When alliance make premades we almost always roflstomp the Horde. It may take an extra minute or 2, but walking away with 30-40 HKs and a win is well worth the slightly slower win.

The rewards from pvp should come from actual pvp. For objective bgs...there should be a significant bonus for defenders/attackers at an objective. (e.g. 100% bonus for 30sec/1m at an objective). 👍👍👍👍

Not trying to be a dick, but sometimes they need to eat crow. They messed up by putting in blanket nerfs instead of adjusting classes.
Mage, our class as an example, is literally the most absolute dog turd of a class for all 3 specs in pvp. We do ZERO damage. Horde meanwhile have the best racials, the strongest 2 classes, and back in p2 when Shaman became a problem everyone rolled one.
Sure, player attitude isn’t helping, but it was 110% driven by the developers mishandling of classes and pvp.
LOL, betcha still Honor Capped all your characters, but keep preaching about how this is bad, dude it isn't like the horde don't want to pvp, hell I took 5 friends and got rofl stomped by 15 alliance because it is just a zerg fest. I blame some of this on the player base but they should never have increased turn in’s to 7500 per turn in that is actually insane honor.
Coming from someone who ranked to 14 in 2019 this is way too much honor for a turn in. I got 300k in blackrock mountain before these changes went in. Took me 1 hr to get the 120k but almost 20+ hrs to get my 300k solo.

Nerf Shamans and you might have more alliance wanting to PVP? My hopes are a majority of alliance stop pvping entirely until Shaman gets nerfed to a "fair" position. They have just too much in their tool kit with little to no weakness.
With that said we run premades and farm horde since they generally just roll over.

I witnessed this develop. It wasn't so much of an unspoken decision but more so alliance making the best thing for their situation. Horde was stomping all over alliance and alliance got sick of slow loses. So it changed to them just sitting in their start base and then changed to a farm fight for some HKs.
Mayen a timer like in retail could help. I know shamans are strong bult these rush-tactics also come because noone wants a 1 Hour bg and then loose.

Me and 6 friends in alliance fight for every ab and we won 10 in a row. Horde doesn’t seem to understand why we are playing and they just give up after a few mins. Fuck the meta, i play pvp to win.
Think if the PvP gear had resilience on it or something that made it just good for PvP and not PvE it wouldn't be a problem but then you wouldn't have any alliance PvP because of Shamans.

Other responses include " Blame the devs", "this is the most efficient way to get honor, doing anything else is griefing", "shamans are too strong anyway." I get at most 2 other players that suggest they would want to win. Everyone else actively flames me for capping.
Entire core of Classic PVP gear progression is a problem.
PVP gear shouldn't be viable in PvE mode. That's why they moved from it in later expansions with adding bonuses like versatility to gear.
Most of SoD players that engage in PvP, does so entirely for easy PvE gear(thanks to pre-BiS wowhead articles)

a good way to fix this is cut the honor gains from turning in marks to around 5k, leave the marks on loss at 2, but make the honor gained per tick from holding bases double, or triple, that will incentivize at least attempting to cap bases, and move the meta away from afk to actually playing the objectives of the battleground.

Solely due to the min/max parsing toxicity SOD has adopted. Some of the most fun I’ve had in years in wow was SOD until this overshadowed all aspects of gameplay. Enjoying retail now at least. But will give the new phases a try
