Hi, doesnt groove agent comes with other time signature like 3/4, 6/8, 7/4 and 7/8 Because i only see 4/4 mostly in groove agent se. So was wondering if i hv to upgrade to get more time signature Thanks for making all the instructional videos, i hv been learning a lot 🎉
There's no denying it's heavily 4/4-based, but there are definitely some non-4/4 grooves. The easiest way to check (if you haven't already) is to add the "Signature" column to the results in your browser, then you can view your entire groove collection in one go, sorted by time signature. If they are all 4/4, then, yes, that must be an SE thing.
Is there a setting that needs to be checked to make this work. When I drag the style into my project, it seems to play whatever it feels like. Rather than than the pattern that I want.
No, there isn't a setting. When you say "drag into your project" - drag from where? Don't forget a Style is MANY rhythms, all collected together. It's not a single Groove. Are you dragging the Style on a Pattern Pad first? That way you get to "preview" the current MIDI pattern that's being played, then drag THAT into Cubase. Without knowing exactly what you're doing I'm just groping in the dark though.
Great video's , would you no where to down load additional Midi Patterns and Fills. Do you have any video's of recording E drums into Cubase ? Whats the best way to build your own fills in Groove Agent 5 . Is there any bounced note settings etc.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to work from curated midi packs of beats, except in electronic music genres. There are a huge library of patterns already in groove agent. Mix kits with patterns from different kits. Then restick (move entire rows of notes up and down in the piano roll) so that for example a fill with hihats becomes a fill with shakers. Rinse and repeat. The problem with the packs is that they have no groove, typically. It’s all the microtiming, feel, and things like the open/close hat sounds that’s always terrible in midi pack patterns.
Thanks for the wonderful tutorial. Do you know if we can audition the other styles quickly from the browser menu with the beat synced to the DAW? At the moment, you kinda need to load each style on the pads itself to audition them individually with tempo in sync.
I appreciate the feedback, thank you. Yeah, unfortunately there's a lot of information in a style and it's not possible to access it without actually "loading" it into the engine (at least not that I'm aware of).
Hey Anthony! A huge thank you for all these videos of great quality and deep precision! You rock! I've got a little question I can't find the answer to so far, maybe you can help me. I have Cubase 12, GA 5, a Focusrite 2i2 interface and a Komplete Kontrol S88. When I load an acoustic patch into GA, I can barely hear the kick (or toms) when I play it on my keyboard (same with an Akai MPK mini). Even if I hit the note hard. Have I tweaked something the wrong way? When I watch Dom Sigalas' finger drumming videos, I get the impression that he doesn't have the same problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance and all the best!
@@OneManAndHisSongs Nope, not that. When I use the mouse to click on the piano roll or on the pad directly in GA, it sounds like it should. Maybe I touched something about the velocity when using the midi keyboard
@@syldeneu3297maybe your input gain is set to - value? Like i have presets own made like drumbusses wich when i load they are automaticly set to -12 or 15 db.
These tutorials are useful, but the complexity of cubase is such that nothing can keep up with it. Nothing I do in Cubase happens according to the book. Totally mystifying sometimes.
Thanks!
That's very kind of you, thank you so much :)
Wonderful tutorial - Exactly what I was searching for!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
Excellent, excellent perspective and tutorial. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the feedback!
Thanks for the wonderful tutorials you make!.
You're very welcome, and thank you for your feedback and support!
thanks for the tutorial. i really enjoyed it. good stuff.
Really glad you liked it, thanks for the feedback!
I would like to hear the full version of this song. I really like your music. And of course thanks for a great tutorial.
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it! That idea evenbtually turned into this: th-cam.com/video/lsYAPMHso0c/w-d-xo.html
I tried to do what you said at 3:11 and got time type mismatch. How do I fix that?
Sorry, can you clarify what you mean by a time type mismatch?
That Chapman Stick has a really deep sound!
Oh man it's so good. I'm completely addicted to it at the moment

Shows the value of patience and slow, methodical assiduousness, I think. Thanks.

If you could load up VST plugs for mixing duties within the standalone version, would be a killer update.
For now a DAW is required.
I don't really have much experience with GA standalone - I only ever work in Cubase.

Thank you! As for your issue, I've not encountered that one before. You haven't accidentally lowered the master Output Volume in GA itself, have you?
@@OneManAndHisSongs I'll double check that but I don't think so. Thank you for your answer !

Nice thanx , whats your go to kit for Late Beatles era ?
You're welcome! The Vintage Kit is specifically designed around that sound.
Very nice. But if you can, the sharpness of the can be improved... especially on a small screen, we can't see much detail...
The intuitive drummer in Logic Pro is by far more user friendly. Steinberg needs to make use of the new AI technology to stay competitive.

I know what you mean. You have to be part musician, part sorceror ;)
