0:30 I feel bad for the Mercenaries who do their jobs for a living and enjoy life when they're betrayed by Arthas who use them as convenient scapegoats.
Imagine a DND campaign where at the end of the contract, ur contact betrays u and ur group, causing u all to fight against his troops (or escape if ur PC group wasn't present at the betrayal point). It'd be a great starting point for such a one-shot tragic campaign.
@@efaristi9737 because it's a video game and usually I'm not immersive enough to feel that much sympathy for fictional characters, beside that, my mind is still at Stratholme
1) Yep, there were humans on Northrend before Arthas' landing. 2) Yep... there were ogres too. No clue how they ended up here though. 3) Yep...... humans, ogres and ice trolls enjoy chilling together in the inn.
When the north pole is involved, many races of various alignments tend to pull together so they could all stay warm by a bonfire. It's icewind dale all over again.
@@IlijaNenadovićOr had them for Arthas in this middle of frozen nowhere. Lich King had after all the power of precognition and influencing thoughts of the living. Just one more use for them rather than rotten cannon fodder of the Scourge.
Its just amazing to me how you are able to bring these characters to life. I played the original campaign many times but i am seeing them entirely through a new light thanks to your hard work. The subtle head nod by Muradin adds so much to it , the tavern is just a work of art , you brought the mercenaries to life and the race to the ships put me on the edge of my seat even if i knew what was about to happen. I have nothing but praise.
There are even dead human soldiers on the coast while the ships are burned. So, even Arthas killed the soldiers guarding the fleet with his own hands? That would be more brutal and even more realistic than just the ships being unguarded. It shows us a young prince willing to do anything for revenge and it is excellent character development.
@@IlijaNenadović But if they were, they would tell the rest of the Lordaeron Forces that it was Arthas who led the Mercenaries to burn the ships they guard.
@@IlijaNenadović You know what they say, "dead men tell no tales" and Arthas prefers no loose ends, so those guards will have to be taken out permanently.
5:55 - I love the subtle irony in the title of the music track that's playin in this scene, "Free Will". While it's a Sylvanas theme in-game, it works perfectly in this scenario. Well done.
Honestly, that there is mercennaries, peoples to hire in Norrthrend despite the lich-king and his undead being around from quite some times now is a wonder.
Brilliant work. The Warcraft 3 had great atmosphere and history but your videos brought its history to new level making it a truly dark fantasy movie showing us the downfall of prince Arthas who became a man now stoping at nothing to get his revenge.
I saw episode 14 the day you released it but I wanted to say I've been really enjoying your recreations of the original story. This is the perfect series to show to someone who hasn't played the game or isn't into RTS games. Awesome that this series continues. The depiction of the mercenaries was brilliant and how the corruption in Arthas took more and more root. Very well done.
It is amazing to see these chapters, the rigor and love towards the lore, it really is a gem, again thank you very much for giving us this great gift. Well-deserved congratulations for your hard work. I just have to ask.... When is the next episode coming out? 😱
Thank you and I'm so glad you are enjoying it. Hopefully the next episode will be done in a couple of weeks. I'm in the final stages of animation on the latest episode and then I'll have to do editing tweaks, go through and fix mistakes that I didn't catch plus sound design. The next episode pivots the story back to Thrall and the Orc's journey on the Dark Spear Isles, but then the episode after that will be the last mission in the Human campaign.
This video represents vividly how Arthus hires mercenaries in a rush and races with time to reach the coast while fighting through the undead defence lines along the way. We can see the ogre warriors smashing enemies, ogre warlocks performing magic in the battle, and the goblin operator driving the war machine and firing at the enemy’s defence tower. We can feel the ferocity of the battle when Arthus is racing with his fellow soldiers to become the first to reach the shore and destroy the retreating ship before his soldiers’ arrival. So that Arthus can fulfill the culprit to destroy the retreating ship and force soldiers to continue the war with the undead army and complete the revenge on Dreadlord Mal’ganus.
