Here goes my experience . Although it is not a GD but an interview experience with Satyam (2008 before the scandal), I would like to share it. In the second round they used to make us write essays. My topic was influence of internet. I wrote a paragraph about porn being easily accessible to minors as one of the problems while not demeaning it in general. When I went for the second technical round with a manager, he had my paper on table with word porn circled in red wherever it appeared. He put that essay in front of me at the table, after the initial greeting. He kept on looking the paper for 5 mins with different expressions ranging from sly grin to contempt to awkwardness. I think he was trying to ask me questions like how dare you write about porn or I think you are too much into porn but he wasn't able to utter the word porn. He even tapped the paper a couple of times where he has circled the word porn but he couldn't muster up the courage to mention it . Instead after a long silence he asked me something about Assembly level while still struggling to come to terms that I am not ashamed of writing about porn. I do not think he even listened to what I answered.

Lol so true about group discussions. I was at NM College in Mumbai until 2015 and I remember one of the big 4 audit firms had a group discussion with 20 people. Yes. 20! It was nothing short of a fish market on stage and obviously most people couldn’t speak. After 2015 when I graduated I realized that it’s impossible to survive happily in Indian work culture and moved to North America and 6 years later, I couldn’t have been happier about a life decision.

In 2015 I went for placement in TCS after cleared my apti. In Interview, they asked about my objective and some question after a while another interviewer offered me coffee and I agreed to take and I was taking coffee with them and I was shocked that they directly rejected me then I asked them why I have not been selected they told me I should not have to take coffee because its not a good manner in interview. Till the date, I don't take coffee.

Happened to me as well.. i went to interview in a BPO named concentrix.. and i was really confident and everything but in the end she rejected me and the reason was that i wasn't using "Please" and "Thank you" more in interview.

The scene from 00:36 to 00:42 is epic,depicting students as fruits and vegetables lying in the racks and tables of any ordinary fruits and vegetables market in any Indian city. I wish the placement drive in our college was like this, with students lying on the tables,with placards showing their names,attendance,CGPA,Co-curricular achievements,personalities,habits,hobbies etc.Bcoz whenever there is a placement drive in which companies come and select employees,it seems as if we are vegetables and the company representatives,interview panelists are selecting best fruits and vegetables for consumption.
Every year I watch this series and it is becoming less funny day by day because this portrays the harsh reality of our eduction system.
The past 6 years of my life and never have I ever dreamt that this video for fun purposes can be such a great portrayal of actual situation in colleges.

i watched it when i was in 12 after giving the jee , i laughed a lot . but now im in my 4th year of my engineering , really studied tried to gain knowledge , recently i passed some apti exam of companies but rejected in interview , all my friends got job in the mass recruiting company . In online apti exam everybody is cheating due to which the cutoff marks are high , now when i watched this video im feeling the real pain of the average .

Being an "average" I can totally relate to that ... That is exactly what happens in colleges
This really makes my memories of placement days fresh , but in humorously honest way.
Reminds me of old (pre-2003, when I was in college) days and this video tells me perhaps not much has changed over the years.
I did my undergrad at an Indian college. Per my experience, the so-called 'campus placements' were a joke. The process was broken and students were treated like trash by everyone ranging from the 'placement officer' to the representatives of the visiting companies. We were consistently told we were worthless and thus didn't deserve much.
After the 4 year ordeal, went to grad school at a US university and was surprised to see the difference in attitude towards students and our preferences. Suddenly, I felt valued and heard. Companies paid hefty sums to have their booths during the career-fair and everyone involved, ranging from university staff to hiring managers, was professional and courteous. A classmate of mine once jokingly asked one of our grad school career officers "Why would the best companies want to hire us?". She smiled and replied "Because you guys are awesome".
completed my engineering this year with aeronautical branch....didn't even had a single company coming to my college campus for placements relevant to my field...
then typically we had to sit for placements in CS and IT companies where we were wondering the fact as so to why other engineering branches exist in india....
