When you get to Alaska, you should get Lyssa to cook with you as a guest chef. Same when you get to Illinois, have Jami come and cook with you for her home state. That would be a fun idea.
B Grace is such a sweetheart and so helpful. She tries hard to see the positive in everything and to make sure that no one gets their feelings hurt. Such a good girl 😇
B-Grace did a great introduction and explaining how her nails stay on and why no one asks for the recipe. She has really grown up a lot this past year! I’m sure the family really liked the homemade gravy, dans taste buds is used to the package gravy I’m guessing.
Brinley is really staring to come out of her shell. What a great way for her to learn how to cook, she is a lucky young lady to have Dan an Lu as her grandparents
B Grace did a great job with the intro! Can’t wait to see what y’all pick for Kentucky! I will definitely be sending in the Kentucky Hot Brown recipe! Or ya can make Bourbon lol … (maybe we will have Denman Homestead do that though!)
Good morning and Happy Thankful Thursday ☀️☕☕💜What a great introduction Brinley ,great job!🎉💕 Looking forward to a New Year of adventures, smiles, great food, and family content❤️ Looking forward to you sharing, thank you for your time🥰
Good morning Brynleigh, Dan & Lou, I LOVED the introduction & your new helper is just so sweet and cute. I love how encouraging she is . What an awesome helper. 🫶 💖❤️💝
California here - don't judge. I have a simple pasts recipe and people love it: For your size family: 16 roma tomatoes 2 buncjes of green onion 2 packages of mushrooms Feta cheese - large Large bottle of olive oil, garlic salt & crushed garlic. You want equal parts of tomatoes, green onion and mushrooms. Dice everything. Start sautéing mushrooms in olive on medium heat. Add garlic - as much as you want. 10 minutes later, add green onion and tomatoes. You will saute about 45 minites until all is cooked really good. Add garlic salt to your liking. When making this, add enough olive as that is going to coat your pasta. Use at least 20oz. You can pour this over spaghetti or bowtie pasta. Top with feta cheese. You can also serve with garlic bread. Very simple and a crowd pleaser!
Brynleigh is such a bright light! She is growing so fast too. It won’t be too long and she won’t fit on Lou’s lap any more. Always enjoy the family comments on the dish of the week. Having lived in Virginia, Florida, and Missouri, I’m waiting to see what y’all come up with for those states! Hope it’s a great week for all.
Dan, if you overwork ground meat, it will make the meat dry, firm and tough. The less you handle ground meat, the more tender your hamburger patties will be. Add your seasoning and make your patties. They’ll be great.
Good Morning Daniel & Lou & Brinleigh Grace! Wow! Season 2...that went by so fast. 😳 Thank you for sharing this video with us. 👍🇨🇦😊 I love that idea...looking forward to it. 👏😊 Your dinner looks delicious! We call that Salisbury Steak here. (Edmonton, Alberta. Canada) The dinner bell is awesome.
Your Salisbury steak dinner was mouth watering from the whole state of Michigan, that's a original home made recipe. But over the years people get lazy and use quick gravys like can cream soups,or the old original packet of powder soup.Lou made it the correct way its home made recipe. Thank y'all for sharing, and I already have the recipe.
B-Grace is so cute and really growing up. It is so much fun to do things with your grandkids. I have great memories of mine when they were younger. I miss that. Great patties. I would have made country gravy but that's me. I love country gravy. Looks good. Great job. Love your channel. Love you guys.❤️❤️
Hi Dan, Lu and Brinly. Suggestion for making patties- make a thumb intention in the middle of the patties. When you cook them they will, not puff up in the middle and will cook evenly. Have a great day.
Salisbury Steak in gravy is one of my favorites. Both pans look really good. The family liked it so that's all that matters. I think coming up with recipes from all the States starting with A is a really great idea. 2024 is going to be so much fun cooking with Dan and Lou and sometimes Brynleigh Grace. Have an awesome night . Thankyou for all you do , not only but outside with your little mini herd. 😚❤
I live in Idaho. Honestly funeral potatoes must be the state food. Any church pot luck will include several casserole dishes of them. Each a beloved family recipe. My son-in-law had a great recipe that we all call "cheesy potatoes". It's a favorite at all big family dinners. 💖💖💖
Hi Dan, Lou and Brynleigh, what I remember about the Salisbury steak my mom used to make, there would be lots of sliced onions in the gravy. The patties were thin and about 4” diameter. I think my mom used cube steak from the butcher for that. For Wisconsin, I’m thinking brats cooked in beer and grilled on flame grill with German potato salad and baked beans.
Season 2! Onward & upward! I’m curious to see what’s made for OH, PA, & FL as I’ve lived in all 3 in that order. Maybe after this we could go to international options!
I like the comment about guest cooks, Lyssa and Jami to represent their home states!!! Good job but now Dan you have to try everything this year. Makes this the year you at least try everything, you never know you may like it!! Good job "B Grace"!!! 🥰
Hey Dan and Lou! Don’t forget your friends to the North, Canada’s national food is “poutine”. Your gravy would make a perfect poutine. Keep on cooking!🧑🏻🍳👨🏻🍳
B-Grace Awesome opening!!!! Dan tell them to put the state in the subject line so you can create a folder for each state to organize the recipes. 😊 Love your videos! Thanks for the entertainment ❤.
B Grace did an excellent job with the introduction and she is certainly a great helper!! She's really gotten comfortable in front of the camera! I'm looking forward to all of the new videos this year! Hugs from Georgia ❤❤❤ DJ
I know you said not to mention states further along, but NC is known for the Carolina BBQ( pulled pork bbq)BBQ. The sauce is a vinigar and tomato base and needs to me made months in advance, to incorporate properly and to taste the best. It also tones down the ac vinigar. We used Smithfield BBQ sauce( they sell the gallons of it in the restaurants here) at the restaurant's ingredient list on what they sell, as a reference to make our own... or may be able to just purchase it online, if you don't want to make it. Many tweek it to their preference, but the base is usually the same.
Hey, Dan, Lou with a wonderful introduction by B-Grace....Yummy!!!! The Salisbury steak sho'nuff looks good....I'm making Salisbury Steak for Saturday's supper w/some Mashed Potatoes....
One good way to help Brinley a wonderful cook, is to explain what each thing that you uses, so she will know what it is and what it does! Plus it's also important to explain what you are using, ( Like a teaspoon= tsp, and a tablespoon= Tbsp) etc
Sounds like the people might have liked the French onion gravy without the ketchup.... B Grace did a wonderful job on the intro and she was very calm when she was helping you all ❤
When you get to Alaska, you should get Lyssa to cook with you as a guest chef. Same when you get to Illinois, have Jami come and cook with you for her home state. That would be a fun idea.
That a wonderful idea. I do hope that they do that.
Yes it would
I hope Dan & Lou that, it will be Awesome 😎👍❤
Have a Wonderful Blessed Day 🙏💞
I like the states idea!! Fun! ❤
That would be perfect and Fun🎉

B Grace is the perfect sous chef! What a nice surprise! Love the state dish idea. Of course I have a long wait-North Carolina.

Need to do horseshoes for Illinois. It’s toast on bottom, meat, fries on top, Then topped with cheese. Delicious
Great plan! Look forward to it all each week! 😊❤
Yes, I’m from Alabama. Can’t wait to see what you decide to make.
The hamburger steak looked awesome. The only thing I would have changed is I really like homemade mashed potatoes. I can’t do the instant potatoes.
When you get to Nova Scotia Canada....it is Fish and Chips{Haddack} Lobster is always welcome as well lol
Excellent intro! 💗
Alabama is cornbread and collard greens. Plus peach cobbler.
Good idea ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sounds like the people might have liked the French onion gravy without the ketchup.... B Grace did a wonderful job on the intro and she was very calm when she was helping you all ❤
