If you're still wondering what a giraffe backstage would look like, I'd highly recommend watching Rossco's Swan Valley Zoo videos. Its not San Diego Zoo backstage, but the guy works as a keeper and he has some absolutely mindblowing takes on the backstage. Hope this helps!
INCREDIBLE build!!! As someone who is working on their own “historic” looking zoo from the turn of the century, dated zoos are indeed a challenge but in the end are so rewarding especially since they often incorporate architecture and other components that zoos nowadays don’t bother investing in due to excess costs.
Cant wait to see your own version of the Elephant Odyssey or Discovery Outpost ❤
I greatly appreciate your videos. I regularly screw around with people in comment sections such as these, but I do enjoy the videos themselves. I don’t watch them all, but those that I do make me happy. Thank you.
love the real life footage you got at the zoo. such a great and well done zoo!
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, my buddy Remnant supplied some of it to help give this area a bit more of a solid foundation!
Now i know these videos are old and u will maybe not see this comment anymore but i just wanna say this is what i like most at planet zoo youtubers that they are building realistic zoos and not some zoos that are not possible to build and u deserve more subscribers i mean just look how much effort you put in this and only 383 likes? u deserve more than 10k likes lol i love your videos!!
the lack of mods and creativity to get the mod look is mind blowing detail - love it!
Yes! This is what I’ve always wanted for the zoo! Im so happy you made this because I personally think they should upgrade their African hoof stock collection exhibits…. Don’t understand how there’s a donkey and a zebra in the same exhibit? But it’s cool 😎
(I think they really only focus on the African hoof stock in the safari park) loved the episode 🎉 And please keep this series going cuz i was Hoofed! I mean hooked (Just made that one up 😂)
Looks real nice leaf! I'll be looking forward to building the urban jungle myself when i get around to that section
This is definitely one of my favorite builds from you, Leaf. Fantastic work!
This zoo is awesome! I love your style of building in Planet Zoo. I look forward to more Planet zoo content from you!
Love love love LOVE it 😍
Love it
Spectacular and majestic work! Can't wait for the full zoo!
P.S: Leaf, are you noticing the problem that some feeders(ex. giraffe feeder) are unreachable for both animals and keepers?
Hiii, I have a little suggestion, have you ever thought of making a zoo with only base game animals? I think that would be REALLY COOL and fun
Someone should do it to show that you can make something cool even if you don't have the possibility to buy all the DLCs.
i loved the vid and i was wondering if there more mods and mod ubtates coming
I forgot what the kids area was called at San Diego but it is really cool and you should definitely make it. It’s like wildlife warriors a or something you know? Kinda by the Komodo’s and the humming birds?
haha that's the plan! wildlife explorers base camp. i have a mini tour of that coming out today on my channel (:
Love the tour Leaf! Question, what is the mod used to have the ride be trackless?
Could you put a version on the workshop with no modded animals? That way people who do not have the mods can tour the zoo as well
Hi! I say in the video and in the workshop link that they will have no effect on users who don’t use mods. Perhaps try yourself and see for yourself that it is fine!
This is a long shot question with probably a not so straight forward answer…. What’s the best PC specs for playing planet zoo with all the dlc ?
Hello I have a problem, I can't find the animals that I install, however I have the ACSE to install too.. would you have a solution?
I got to feed a giraffe at a local zoo!
@@LeafProductions it is. We were on a raised platform, so we were actually above them. I got to speak with the keepers, which I wish I had recorded bc it was so much information.
The zoo had 3 giraffes. A mom and 2 boys. They kept one boy, and sold the younger to another zoo. The mom had recently died which left the older boy alone. Through the zoo system, they found a female for him but it would be a year before she would be ready. So in the interim, they negotiated with the zoo where younger brother went to and got him back. They were reacclimating the younger giraffes to the zoo. They were being kept in the giraffe house for a while, but eventually would be let out into a massive habitat. I want to go back when it's cooler and see them out and about.
Plus hopefully the clouded leopard will be more active!
@@benjie128 such an awesome expertience to have!!! Love to hear stories like this
@@LeafProductionsI'm actually working on trying to make a zoo using that local zoo (Frank Buck) as heavy inspiration. This video gave me tons of ideas!
The hoofstock I work with aren’t at San Diego, but going from my personal zoo’s experience, there’s never an instance where they’re walking on only concrete in a “behind-the-scenes” setting. There’s always some kind of substrate for them to rest and stand on, whether it be large rubber mats, straw, woodchips, and/or wood flakes. Giraffes especially, they’re extremely clumsy and can slip very easily on concrete floors, so their barn’s floor is always covered in a very healthy coat of wood flakes. Hope this helps!!
This helps so much!! Thank you!!!
