Looks like a fun trip. Poison ivy, I'm getting more and more sensitive to it as I age. Now I make sure I bring something to wash off the oils if I get into it by accident. I keep soap and small cloth in my poop kit for the poison ivy just in case. I've recently discovered that witch hazel seems to be the best treatment for me to clear up the rash. It's fitting that your water isn't ice cold, but 'Kuehl' LOL Sand slog... I noticed that when I visited my son in Michigan and went hunting with him in the Huron-Manistee National Forests and a couple short hikes with his family. Lots of very sandy ground. (He lives near Silver Lake State Park)
We have the bar soap and cloth kit too…never heard of trying witch hazel, so good tip there. It’s always a fun trip when we are playing in the woods together.
Let us know when you do make it to NY. There is a ton of poison ivy and oak this year on the trails. Looks like a nice hike with a nice place to cool off and clean up at the end

I’ve noticed in your intro that y’all have a Subaru. We have seen the ascent. I was just curious your thoughts on them. We are looking to invest in a new car for everyday driving with a third row. We like the price and size. The only thing that makes me nervous is it’s a midsize vehicle with 2.5 4 cylinder engine with a turbo. I have never drove a 4 cylinder. We’ve got the cars within a ascent and a Honda Pilot.
@@KUEHLKUEST thank we will keep it mind when we get ready to buy. My sister n law swears by her cross-trek and she’s had other older model Subarus as well. The bad part is dealer recommended is 3 hours away.
Spring Lake Campground is the half way mark when starting at Old US 131 campground… no reservations just $15 per site and you pay at the campground when you get there. Thanks for watching and connecting!

I have never driven one but I have rode in it. Very roomy and the courtesy driver for Subaru told me it has a lot of get up and go.
