P4 really made me turn around on ENG VAs, I don’t think even P5 is this great, I absolutely love P4’s cast, it’s so insanely good, the voice acting is actually so good. Rise Kujikawa’s character can be likened to, say, actresses or even models, who more likely have to put up with the kinda shit Rise does: being put on a pedestal, people only seeing and liking the image she offers instead of the real person, etc. Rise’s Shadow is RISE not knowing who she is anymore (I’d argue the Animation version fleshes that out more than the game does). All of this being said, it makes sense why Rise is the lovers archetype; women of that caliber (especially models) are very feminine and prefer that their looks not be the only thing guys appreciate.

After listening to a lot of Critical Role's second campaign, there are many moments when I listen to Rise and can't help but picture Jester, especially drunk Rise. It's like Laura's voice for her was a Jester Alpha test.

You may like Rise or not, but she is the only true romance in the game, you never have an instance for love to be developed with the other girls, at least nothing meaningful. You only have a certain type of interactions with both Yukiko and Chie, is almost like you're not even there, you just say stuff like 'I support you" and/or "I like you" With Rise you have all sort of interactions, fun and boring, happy and sad, etc. you get to know her better, so is not strange for the mc to ended up being much closer to her. This is all tied up very well at that certain point in the game where Rise has a breakdown, at that point, if you choose to let her know you're there for her is not a "I like you wanna be my gf?" moment, no, you're not doing it bc you like her, but bc you actually want her to be ok, and that's romance for you. (I don't even count Naoto bc the mc wants her to be different, and that means he literally doesn't like her)
As a lesser? Senpai means "upperclassman." And the only reason she calls him that is cause they have to make it so nobody has to read aloud whatever the player picked for a name.
